Caloroga Shark Media. Hi there, I’m Johnny Mac with your Daily Comedy News. Late Nighter reports there are fake Jimmy Kimmel monologues on YouTube. Yeah, this is insane to me. Late Nighter reports.

In just the last two weeks, Fake Jimmy Kimmel has weighed in on Donald Trump dozing off at Lindsey Graham’s funeral. Fake Jimmy Kimmel has covered Rand Paul’s Senate confrontation with Anthony Fauci, and Fake Jimmy Kimmel discussed the Justice Department dropping charges related to the vandalizing of the reflecting pool, which of course is not one happened. This is nuts. Late Nighter tells us dozens of AI generated videos have been using Kimmel’s voice face is familiar monologue set up to deliver commentary. The videos have been posted across at least half a dozen YouTube channels, packaged with thumbnails designed to match those used by Kimmel’s show Boy, What a nightmare?

How do you slap that down? Wow? Late Night Or writes The fakery becomes more apparent upon closer inspection. The synthetic Kimmel stands in his usual monolog position, but gestures oddly, often emphasizing the wrong words. After about ten seconds, he disappears altogether, leaving the clone voice to continue over news footage.

The clips contain few actual jokes, no audience reaction, and none of the conversational rhythm of Kimmel’s actual monologues. I wonder who’s behind this. Part of me thinks it’s just aislop to make some money, and others wonder. Huh. I wonder who might be trying to make Jimmy Kimmel look bad.

One video I’m gonna choose not to name it collected eight hundred thousand views over four days before disappearing. Wow, what a nightmare. Huh. Chelsea Handler is not happy that Joe Rogan made the list of highest paid podcasters of twenty twenty six. That list had Joe Rogan at number one, supposedly making eighty two million dollars with his podcast The Joe Rogan Experiences.

So that list came out on Forbes. Chelsea Handler jumped in on the comments and wrote, who is paying Joe Rogan eighty two million dollars? Give that two our vets and our children. On Instagram, Chelsea Handler wrote eighty two million to be completely uninformed and say whoopsie doodle every time he’s wrong, which is frequent frequent in all caps. Here’s the thing.

Let me explain how this works to Chelsea Handler. See what you do is you put out a podcast. A certain number of people downloaded, stream it, consume it, listen to it, etc.

And then you may choose to put advertising in your podcast.

Personally, I have chosen to put advertising in my podcast. The advertisers pay on what’s called a CPM model cost per thousand lazy math. If you want to compute all this, use twenty dollars as your CPM. So, for example, if Daily Comedy News has one thousand listeners and you wanted to reach them at a twenty dollars CPM, you would give me twenty dollars for the advertisement. Details vary.

There are things called programmatic ads that pay less. I’m not going to do a podcasting class here. You may pay more for an endorsement. Like if I say, hi, I’m Johnny Mac and I’m telling you that the best widget in the world is the ACME Widget Company, and I’m using all my credibility to tell you this, you would pay more than the say twenty dollars for that, or there might be a premium environment. Say you have a show about I don’t know painting, and you sell paint for a living, you might want to reach a particular audience and pay even more for that.

Or Joe Rogan is the number one show, so by getting a lot of listeners, Chelsea, he makes a lot of money in advertising, and that is how Joe Rogan makes money. Sebastian Maniscalco is considering going completely bald. On this week’s episode of The Sebastian Maniscalco Show, Sebastian co host Pete Gorieli The Gator consulted on air with a Beverly Hills based hair transplant surgeon. Sebastian said he had undergone a hair transplant eight years ago. The group debated whether or not Sebastian should shave his head in preparation for a possible second hair transplant.

Sebastian asked the doctor, So, if I go completely bald and you do the proizure, when can I be stage ready? The doctor said, I give it seven days. You have enough beautiful pigments that redness shouldn’t be as bad. Sebastian was curious what shaving his head would entail. He asked, when you say shaved head, are you taking down a street level with mock three blade and I’m completely bald?

Are you taking it down to the lowest cut on an electric The answer is Sebastian would be left with one millimeter of hair. The doctor said the transmitted hair is the same size. After one week, you’ll look pretty decent because you’ll look like you have a buzz cut. Sebastian said seeing himself bald could be helpful for the future. I’m doing the shave to see what I look like bald, and if I like what I look like bald, I’m not gonna be too worried about losing hair in the future, right.

Pete Corilia the Gator, said that’s a good way to look at it. Two Birds, One Stone. Mo Gilligan’s Chicken Thing is out on Netflix. Moe learned a lot about chicken, including you know, one of the ingredients. They also put it in condoms for lubrication.

Who knew that went into a burger? So many things go into it that are artificially engineered to give you a better experience and get you to come back for more. He told the Sun, you know again, that’s a newspaper, not the thing that can us warm and gives us light. Most said the idea of being paid to eat fried chicken might have sounded like a dream, but it turned out to be more like a nightmare. Again, Morgan Spurlock did this already, Guys.

Look, I do a job that’s very front facing it in the public eye. I’d be lying if I said I didn’t care about my image, especially if I’m eating fried chicken every day. Eating the food was something that I was a bit self conscious of, but also knowing in the space of a few days, I went from a large in my T shirt to an extra large because of what I’m eating. Dude, I do that once a week. Early in the week, I’m pretty good about my running and my eating, and then by the weekend it’s like Friday pizza.

Dude, this is nothing new. Mogilligan added, as a black British comedian, it was important for me to challenge the stereotypes around black people and fried chicken, unpack where those ideas came from, and reclaim a dish that’s part of a much bigger story than the one we’ve been told. I met some incredible people along the way, from historians and farmers to nutrition experts and industry insiders. Every conversation taught me something. This is probably the most exposing thing I’ve ever done, and I can’t wait for you all to see it.

Bohen Yang is heading to Broadway. He’s going to play Mary’s Tod Lincoln. Heard me correctly. He will play Mary Todd Lincoln in Oh Mary. It’s not the first time he was offered the role.

Last summer, he was offered to do it, but he was planning on returning to Saturday Night Live. Boone Yang said, I was too yoked to that time frame to give myself the proper runway. I was not going to take a Broadway debut without the utmost seriousness and gravitas and respect. Now he’s getting his chance. Starting September fifteenth, Bowen Yang will take over a role that’s been played by people including Jane Krakowski, Maya, Rudolph, Megan Stantler, drag Icon Jinx month Soon.

Casting director Henry Russell Bergstein said, you need a one of a kind performer and someone who knows how to handle doing eight shows a week. Amy Pohler is coming to New York City’s Town Hall on Tuesday. Get your wallet ready if you want to see Amy Pohlar record a podcast. She’s not in the basement. She’s selling tickets.

I mean, if you want to come, I’ll I guess I could charge your ten bucks to stare at me while I record comedy headlines. If that’s something you really want to do, we can talk. But if you want to go see Amy Pohle or the New York Posts as the lowest price they could find for tickets on seat geek was three hundred and forty six dollars including fees. Orchestra seats start at five hundred and thirty three dollars including fees. That, of course, is insane bad news for the Lester Comedy Festival.

Apparently the folks at the Big Difference Company are having some financial problems. They announced with great sadness that they had become insolvent. The directors of the festival, which started in nineteen ninety four, cited increasing costs, a difficult funding environment, and significant pressures within the live comedy sector. We are starting to see some comedy festival struggle. That’s really interesting.

There was a lot of strength in that after the pandemic, and now it seems like not so smooth sailing. Paul Shear’s comedy series Dinks has been green lit by Amazon. Now Dinks should not be confused with the Dink, which is a thing on Apple. I’m glad they pointed that out because I already confused them. I blew the story off once because I saw this and I was like, no, that already exists.

This is old news. But no, the Dink is already out. Dink’s dual income No Kids is an improv comedy series starring Paul Sheer. The improvised multi camera sitcom follows Josh and Surely, a couple who, in the absence of marriage your Kids, decide to literally build a life together by renovating their nightmare of a dream house. A previous version of Dinks, which was called a Lot, was set up at CBS with a presentation as proof of concept.

Apparently CBS was not impressed. Kameil Non Jihanni will make his directorial debut with the upcoming horror comedy Howl. In How kameil on Jihanny, he not only directs, he plays a troubled actor who makes a bombshell announcement on a talk show. He is a werewolf and he’s going to transform in one hour on live TV. That sounds fun.

That’s been acquired by Amazon, MGM’s Ryan Pictures, And that is your comedy news for today. Now, coming up this weekend, the Deep Dives are back. I got some notes people like the deep dives. And because Saturday is Jay Leno Day, we’re going to do a deep dive on jay Leno, but none of the tonight show stuff everything else. So that’ll be Saturday tomorrow, a normal episode and I will see you then

Caloroga Shark Media. Uh oh, somebody didn’t like the new Ricky Gervais show. Hi, I’m Johnny Mac with your Daily Comedy News the Guardian Rights. According to multiverse theory, you know this is off to good start if that’s the first paragraph. According to multiverse theory, there are parallel realities in which news of a new Ricky Gervase project instills a feeling other than dread.

What are you talking about, dude, I’m generally excited about a Ricky Gervase project, not this one though, But it’s I’m with you there the Guardian Rights, but we don’t live in them. Having seen his new series Alley Cats on Netflix Friday, a boorish banter vehicle in which animated cat shoot the breeze like a bunch of pub bars. Have you seen what’s in the top ten on Netflix? I mean I was on their Sunday night, going, who watches this crap? The Guardian Rights.

I’m not sure what there is report other than the fact that I didn’t laugh once. Considering what a fan I once was, I find this remarkable. What happened, woke happened? Is what his diehard fans would say, etcetera, etcetera. Nothing makes me laugh harder than a good transgressive joke.

Humor is often about dissolving dogma, acting as a safety valve for our collective id. The darker beats, close to the bone have the juiciest flavor, but good is as important as transgressive. Ali Katz leans on one at the expense of the other. That’s why it limps. There are jokes about fat people, blind cats, intellectual disabilities.

Gus the cat played by Rick Davay, swears on every line the way some Brits do, with the habitual fondness for the worstwear word, the one that gives Americans conniptions. I’m going to guess it starts with a se. The show is lazy and please with itself. The more it’s determined to shock, the more I check my watch. The episodes are fifteen minutes long, but feel much longer.

Wow, this is brutal. Allie Katz August seventh, The Hollywood Reporter caught up with John Oliver. They reminded John he and his staff have already won thirty two Emmys for Last Week Tonight, and they’re nominated for another three this year. That’s about the point where Oprah stop submitting herself for rewards. Do you think HBO would go for that if you wanted to pull a similar move, John Oliver said, If the bar is Oprah, let’s all agree, I’m a long way under that bar.

The next person who pulls the Oprah move had better be Gail King. Emmy’s have been very important HBO to the extent they’ve built to some level of golden armor over the years. It’d probably be dangerous to say we don’t need this. You always want to be exactly as much trouble as you are worth, So the more you’re worth to them, the more trouble you can cause. John Oliver, have you spoken to Stephen Colbert?

John said, I saw him after his last show, after he managed to get at that entire building through that experience, which was an amazing thing to watch. I haven’t physically seen him, but our group chat is still active. The Hollow Reporter talked about the camaraderie amongst the gang. John said, it’s probably helpful that the stakes of the Late Night Wars have become so low. It’s crazy to act like it’s the Cold War.

Also, we have so much in common in terms of the Peculiarities of the Job. Season three of Conan O’Brien Must Go will be on HBO Max Friday, August twenty, first four episode season. If you want to go see Saturday Night Live, the ticket lottery for season fifty two is open late night or tells Us. Viewers can enter for a chance to score two free tickets to either address rehearsal or a live show. Lottery winners chosen at random, can’t pick a specific date.

What do you do? You send your ticket request to SNL tickets at NBCUNI dot com. SNL tickets at nbcuni dot com. Submissions must include your full name, email address, and an explanation of why you want to be part of the studio audience. The answer is I’m young, in my early twenties and good looking.

That’s the answer. If you write in, hey, I’m almost fifty seven and I do a podcast in my basement, You’re not gonna be picked. Do you watch the show? Do you see guys like me in the audience? No?

I had my time when my time Billy Crystal was on the show. So if you’re young and good looking, SNL tickets at NBCUNI dot com and let’s not kid ourselves otherwise. The lottery runs through eleven to fifty nine pm Eastern Time, August thirty first, twenty twenty six. The worst person who ever lived Jay Leno. He’s going to be honored at the upcoming Burbank International Film Festival with the BIFFS Vanguard Award.

You want to celebrate Jay Leno, head on over to the Marriott Burbank this Saturday. The Mayor of Burbank will issue his special proclamation recognizing Jay Leno’s impact on the city and declaring the Day Jay Leno Day. Jay will then participate in an hour long career retrospective conversation and will be presented with the award. Ted Lasso is back today. Season four minor spoilers ahead, including several characters that are not back.

They include Phil Dunster’s Jamie Tart, Nickolhammet’s coach, Nate Christo Fernandez, Danny Rojas and James Lances, Trent Krim, and several other of the players that all because of the new plot. You may recall. At the end of season three, Ted Lasso left his position to return home to his family in the United States. Well, now he’s back. Ted Lasso begins coaching the Lady Greyhounds, a second division women’s soccer team, in season four.

Tanya Reynolds plays Ted’s new assistant coach, Alice Chilton. Grant Feeley joins the cast as Ted Lasso’s son Henry, taking over for Gus Turner, who played the role in the first three seasons. Back for season four are the characters Rebecca Leslie, Roy Kent, coach Beard, and Keeley Jones. Sidegas explained why women’s soccer. He told he News me getting to be around women’s sports, especially the WNBA, my sisters and I my kids, going to a lot of these games, having season tickets, just getting to watch these kick ass women coming off of three three pointers in a row, and just seeing the humanity and camaraderie amongst them.

And I grew up in a house full of women, so I’ve seen that in a variety of stages of my life, and it’s something I’ve always been a big fan of and appreciated. Tanya Reynolds plays the new coach. She explained the character to the Hollywood reporter. Sidegas told her soccer had been coach Alice’s life, but after suffering from a recurring ACL injury, she segued to coaching, though she’s not a natural coach. Reynolds explains a lot of the series arc for Aliss about her finding her best kind of coach self and learning how to better communicate and be vulnerable with the team.

I was very interested in this idea of the character who’s very brittle and spiky on the outside but inside is actually quite wobbly. She requested a zoom with Sadeikis to make sure he was aware of her lack of athleticism. She said, I got really paranoid because the thought of me playing a coach is quite hilarious to anyone who knows me. I was like, listen, man, you’ve not met me. I’m not this character.

I can give it a go, but I’ve never kicked a ball in my life. And Jason was just very ted lasso about it, like, well, I think you are, she adds. For the returning cast, they know their characters inside out, but for us, we’re still figuring out who we are. I’m nervous on any job, but I was particularly nervous on this because it’s a show that everyone loves so much and you’re stepping into it. As this new character who at the beginning especially is not particularly liable.

I just really felt the pressure of it season four of ted Lasso, and I wish I were more excited about it. Jordan Klepper and Ronnie Ching jumped on YouTube to talk about the thirtieth anniversary of The Daily Show. Where’s John? Where’s Jon Stewart? I get that he’s off, but like the thirtieth anniversary of The Daily Show has been predictable for thirty years?

Worse John, This is just weird to me. I do this for a living. It’s weird. Klepper said, thirty fi years of this? Can you believe it?

Of this kind of banter? Chang said, I feel like this show has outlasted America. We’ve outlasted quite a few things. They got a little more serious. Chang said, We’re also a show that’s like a current affairs show, you know, political satire.

So I feel there’s always a place for a political satire. Klepper agreed, saying satire is part of every cultural moment and movement. Chang added, I always felt that if America couldn’t do a daily political satire show, nobody can do it. You know what, I mean like, if this country that is the most freedom of speech, the most money entertainment, the most comedy infrastructure, nurturing writers and comedians, and we have the craziest politics. If those four things don’t combine to form a daily political satire show, if this isn’t a country that can do it, then no one could do it.

I think a lot of Americans don’t understand that this show is able to exist because of strong freedom of speech protections that most other countries don’t have. Out on Netflix today, it’s Mo Gilligan’s Big Chicken. I’ve told you about this before. If you’re of a certain age, remember Supersize Me. Remember that was really good guy went to McDonald’s every day Guy, Morgan Spurlock.

Anyway, On Netflix today, it’s Big Chicken, a Fast Food Conspiracy. Big Chicken a fast Food Conspiracy follows British comedian Mo Gilligan as he turns his love of fried chicken into a personal investigation. He eats chicken three times a day for twenty eight straight days while examining the industry built around it. So again, it’s like supersize me, but chicken, Netflix, says a self proclaimed lover of the food Mo puts his body to the test in a bold experiment by eating fried chicken three times a day for twenty eight days straight. Over the course of the month, he embarks on an eye opening journey from South London to the United States to reveal the historical origins of fried chicken and the social, economic, and industrial forces driving our mass consumption of it.

I’m going to watch this from fast food chains to large scale farming, et cetera, et cetera, et cetera. You’ll watch. Pete Davidson and Elsie Hewitt have worked out how they’re going to co parent. They put out a statement. Page six has the statement david sent and hew had said, we are cooperatively co parenting our daughter, whose well being remains our top priority, and we are fully committed to working together to give her love from both of us.

Davidson and Hewitt began dating in March twenty twenty five. They split up five months after welcoming their daughter, Scotty. Scotty is named after Pete Davidson’s father, Scott Matthew Davidson, the New York City firefighter who died responding to the terrorist attacks on nine to eleven Michael Jay is filming a new stand up special at First Avenue in Minneapolis August twenty eighth and twenty nine. Tapings will be for a quote televised special where it will air, When it will be released. No one knows.

Well, someone knows, but I don’t and you don’t, Judd Apatow said. Nikki Glaser is working on a screenplay right now. Obviously she’s a ridiculously talented and fascinating person. And I think it’s clear to everybody that we would love a Nicky Glazer film. I know, as someone hosting a podcast in the basement, we would love a Nikki Glaser film.

Oh yes, and all the press that comes with it, Please make several of them. Hopefully we’re getting close to a draft and something that can happen next year. It’s years and years of conversations that lead to this type of work. But I’ve known her a long time and this is something we’re very excited about. I mean, how could a Nikki Glaser movie not be good?

Right? Maddy Kelly tells Yahoo Canada. Yes, the comedy space has been male dominated, we all know that, and she says it’s gotten a lot worse. She told the Yahoo Canada. I’ve just seen ebbs and flows for how many women are in the scene, how many women are getting rewarded for being comedians.

And I think people think women get things earlier because there’s such an appetite for girls to do comedy and audiences like it so much and diversity mandates. When you really think about it, if you actually analyze the list, there’s not that many women. I’m the only woman on a huge percentage of the shows I do every week, and a lot of girls don’t want to hang out with eight guys that want to have sex with them. You have to have a really strong sense of what you’re doing and why you’re doing it, and a lot of people don’t have that. When you start an art form, obviously there are big obstacles, and I personally think they get better when we really pay attention to them.

I mean the fact that no one could post something online without literally igniting a war in the comments whether women are funny or not. It’s exhausting. People over in the UK are upset that the BBC has canceled Live at the Apollo. One of the people mad is comedian Mark Watson. Live at the Apollo helped launch the career of several major British comedians, including Michael McIntire, John Bishop, Katherine Ryan and Mo Gilligan.

The Chicken Guy. Live at the Apollo started airing in September of two thousand and four. One of the early comedians on that show was Mark Watson, who appeared on the show in twenty eleven. He said, if money’s the issue, it would be very easy to make a very good low fi stand up show for absolute peanuts. It’s been done before, but people will be pitching that in vain until twenty seventy eight stand up comedian Terry Christian, it’s old, Good Morning Britain.

I think the big tragedy is Live at the Apollo because it’s for young comedians and for them to be introduced to the general public. The good news is there’s one more season in the can, so the show’s not over quite yet. And that’s your comedy news for today. I’ll see you tomorrow.

Caloroga Shark Media. Hey man, sometimes you just gotta hand it to somebody. Hello. I’m Johnny Mac with your Daily Comedy News. Congratulations to Jim Gaffigan.

His whiskey brand Father Time Bourbon, the one I made fun of, has won best New Bourbon at the twenty twenty six San Francisco World Spirits Competition, with the Caboose Empty Nestor Strength. The cast Strength Kentucky Straight Bourbon also received a double gold medal and an impressive ninety seven point score on the Father Time website. Jim Gaffigan said, I’m obviously not a bourbon expert. Oh, Jim, I disagree. You are an award winning bourbon maker.

I salute you, sir. I fall on my sword. I made fun of you. You are the man. Jim Gaffigan said, I’m obviously not a bourbon expert, but I did do my research and I know what I like.

I handpicked the bourbon and personally signed every bottle of Father Time. And no, this isn’t some big spirit company behind this adventure. It’s just me and a buddy from college. Well, congrats to Jim and the buddy. The Caboose is a Kentucky Strait Bourbon whiskey source from an undisclosed distillery and made from a mash bill of sixty three percent corn, thirty percent rye, and seven percent malted barley.

It’s sold to two proof points. The precious batch clocks in at ninety two point four proof, while the award winning Empty Nester Strength is an uncut one hundred and twenty one. The suggested retail price for Empty Nestor Strength is two hundred dollars. Congratulations again, Jim Gaffigan, CBS will LERR a special two hour presentation of Comics Unleashed. That’s the Byron Allen thing.

Byron Allen’s a billionaire. Don’t make fun of him either. The primetime special air Tuesday, September twenty ninth.

Comics Unleash debuted in first run syndication on local TV stations in two thousand and six. The show produced more than two hundred thirty episodes before taking quote an extended production hiatus in twenty sixteen, during which repeats aired. Then in twenty twenty four, when Taylor Thomlinson walked away from After Midnight, CBS was like, yeah, let’s throw this on, so they started making more and then CBS was like, do we even need Stephen Colbert.

The answer apparently no. The show has been attracting more than eight hundred thousand viewers over the age of two and in the eighteen of forty nine to eighty three thousand. The other Byron Allen show, the one that’s on at twelve thirty now, is called Funny You Should Ask, and that is returning to production on August eleventh. New episodes will start showing up on CBS at twelve thirty five am September twenty First hosted by John Kelly, Funny You Should Ask has produced four hundred and fifty episodes across nine seasons and is going to tape its landmark five hundredth episode this winter. If you haven’t seen the show and I know You Haven’t.

The show pits two contestants against each other as a panel of six comics cracked jokes and offer answers to trivia questions. Contestants must then decide whether those answers are correct or merely funny. Isn’t that just the Hollywood Squares minus Tic tac Toe? Yes. After three rounds, the contestants with the most money advances to an end game for a larger cash prize.

Some of the people that have appeared on this thing Tiffany Hattis, Sean Lovitz, Jamie Kennedy, Cheryl Underwood, Adam Carolla, Howie Mandel, Whitney Cummings, Carolyn Ray, Natasha Lazeiro, Jeff Ross, Tommy Davidson, Jimmy Walker, and Gabriel Fluffy Iglesias. Byron Allen said in a statement, Funny You Should Ask is a comedy game show with a simple premise. For every question, there’s a funny answer. Congratulations to Seth Myers. His day drinking segment will be presented on Peacock as its own series.

Today is Johnny Mac is wrong about everybody and everything day. What happens next? We’re going to give a life time comedy Award, Adam Sandler and Say Marceller R and Eds is funny. This is an awful episode. You’ll find day Drinking with Seth Myers on Peacock Now.

As at the time of this recording, the collection includes all but one of the show’s seventeen installments. The mystery holdout episode is Seth Myers. In twenty twenty two with post Malone, I saw on the Spotify comment somebody got mad at me that I often take shots at Seth Myers make twelve thirty great again? And as I wrote, look, there’s a home for Seth and maybe it’s Peacock, But I want to make twelve thirty great again. And I need somebody willing to throw watermelons off a tower, maybe have a bear masterbait.

And I keep coming back to Chris Fleming. Wouldn’t Chris Fleming be a wonderful host of Late Night with Chris Fleming twelve thirty seven, whatever it is on NBC, Wouldn’t that be great?

And then like Seth Myers could be on like Peacock or something.

I think that would be awesome. Continuing today’s theme of Johnny Mac is wrong about everything, Jimmy Fallon continues to trail Jimmy Kimmel’s summer guest host and even lost some ground. Jimmy Kimmel Live Minus Jimmy Kimmel averaged one poin five seven four million viewers the week Coleman Domingo hosted. That same week, Fallon did one point four to two million In the eighteen to forty nine s Kimmel Minus Kimmel two hundred and three thousand adults. Jimmy Fallon won sixty eight at twelve thirty nine hundred and twenty four thousand people were watching Seth Myers Flat from the previous week eighteen to forty nine to ninety seven thousand people.

Byron Allen Show Keeps Doing Byron Allen Things. The final week of Show after Soccer starring James Corden, properly titled FIFA World Cup on Fox After Hours with James Cordon Rolls Off the Tongue drew seven hundred and seventy six thousand total viewers, up fifty three percent, adults eighteen to forty nine one hundred and fifty seven thousand up thirty nine percent. The Daily Show is taking August off. I guess I can’t blame them.

Meanwhile, over at Comedy Central, they’ve announced a new series of Comedy C…

Interesting that it’s going to YouTube and not actually Comedy Central. Welcome to the future, John. We are told that Comedy Central Stand Up Selects will mix newer and established talent. The newer and established talent include Adam Ray, Daniella, in Nes, Calvo, Fume Abbe, Ian Edwards, Jay Jorden, Jeremiah Watkins, Jesse Jitski Johnson, Joey Sarone, Catherine Blandford, Leslie Low, Mendal, Ryan Goodcase, Sammy Maury, and Skyler Higley. Kevin Hart was hanging out with his golfing pal Lebron James, who is now a Philadelphia seventy six er.

There’s a video of them playing golf together. There were a lot of naughty words, so I can’t play it for you, but Kevin Hart started using a lot of Philly lingo to keep Lebron updated on how his new fans talk. Bron said to Kevin Art, you back on your Philly lingo, young bull. So I am frustrated. If you work with me long enough, I will roll out of bed and have an idea and like I have no patience, I’m like, let’s do it now.

So on Sunday I was hanging out on the deck poolside and I was like, I should do a YouTube live and then I was like, yeah, the family’s around, they’ll just distract me. I’ll do it Monday. So Monday one o’clock I went live on YouTube. And if you caught it, thank you. And if you didn’t catch it, you’re not gonna catch it.

And here’s why I’m frustrated. You know, I’m a newbie. I don’t know what I’m doing. And the audio of the live stream cut off after four minutes. I did like fifteen minutes and a cut off after four.

It was just me talking about stuff, including the death of my friend Vinnie Passtoor. Hold On, my wife wants to know if I want Chinese food. The answer is, of course yes, Do you want to order with me? We could do this. She’s getting Panda Express, hm hot and orange chicken.

Should I get that? There’s like a black in chicken? Oh update required, Come on, Panda express. I just want to order. Let’s say, how good my internet is?

I it loaded super fast. The fiosky came by after the Storm’s boy he hooked it up. My internet is quick. Now I’m going to get a bowl. It’s this black pepper chicken.

That’s what I really like her. I don’t get that. What kind of rice should I get? So? Good?

Fried rice or white rice? I do? Is some fried rice? Why not? That’s not going to be good for the salt anyway.

So I did this fifteen minute show and I only have the four minutes of the audio. I don’t know what happens, so I’m very frustrated. I might try that again on today Tuesday, assuming you’re listening Tuesday. I’ll see if my wife is around and how quiet the house is or not. But I did enjoy doing I want to try it out anyway.

I was talking about Vinnie Passtdoor and a few minutes of the audio did survive. So let me just drop that in here and then I’ll pick it up. But I thought I would start today talking about Vinnie Passdoor because I was friends with Vinnie, worked with him on The Wise Guy Show. At Serious Exam. I just was reading the press release in March of two thousand and four, that show came out.

Wow, So that’s do the math John twenty two years ago already, which is kind of crazy. Vinnie was a good guy. I was happy to see all the press that he got where people were celebrating his career and his life and the fun guy that he was. So when I worked with him, it was the wise Guy Show on Serious ExM raw Dog Channel. This was in the height of Sopranos menia, and the idea for the show as designed by executive producer Steven van Zant, you know Stevie as Silvio on The Sopranos and also from the EA Street Band.

So he started the show to capture the feeling of the back room at the bottom bing. That was the idea there. So Vinnie was the star on the show. He played Big Pussy on The Sopranos, so he was the star of the show. And he was surrounded by some Italian American character actors, and they were quite characters.

They were actors, and some of them might have known somebody and some of them might have been somebody, but they were always great to me. I enjoyed working with them. So we would lock them in a room for three hours. At first it was on Saturday. I’ll come back to that.

And then we did the show on Wednesday nights and Vinnie was the ringleader and we would do segments like What’s your Beef, have some celebrity guests in, and it was just a really fun show to work with. I remember one night we had The Beach Boys on, and I’m a big Beach Boys fan. I was in the control room not quite pre sing more the adult supervision keep the train on the rails, and I was talking to Mike Love, the lead singer of the Beach Boys, and Mike says to me, are they real wise guys? And I just sometimes I just nail things and say things the right way. So I said to Mike, I don’t know, it’s kind of like being a surfer.

And Mike got what I was coming from. You know, the Beach Boys aren’t expert surfers. They’ve been to the beach, you know, so he appreciated that. We started the show it was on Saturdays, and I just as I looked up at the press release and saw that it was in two thousand and four. That reminded me of this house that I’m living in right now.

I was on my way to see it. I was with my wife and we were going to tour this house and I got summoned in by one of the bosses for a Wise Guys show meeting. This was before the show had launched, on a Saturday afternoon. I was like, are you kidding me? And I had I was still new enough it’s serious, and had been out of work before serious for long enough that I wasn’t able to tell said, go host yourself.

I’m not doing that. Later in my career, I one hundred percent would have been like, I’m not doing that. But in this case, it was early enough in the run and I needed the gig, so yeah, I said, okay, I’ll be in. And my wife wound up looking at the house and you know, said it to me, this is the house you want. It’s on a cul de sac and it as a pool.

And I took her word for it and took the leap of faith. And We’ve been on this house that I hadn’t seen and I’ve lived here for twenty something years. The Wise Guys show boy in the middle of Sopranos Mania, we took the show out to Las Vegas at one time, and you know again, I was just a guy along for the ride, literally along for the ride in the limousine with some of the stars of the Wise Guys Show, including Vinnie, including Steve Sharipa, who played Bobby Bakalan Sopranos, and I was one of the humans who got out of the limo. The crowds reacting to these people back in the middle of Sopranos media. It was insane.

And I remember that Las Vegas show, particularly because the guys were being a little ornery, as they would get sometimes, and I remember Shrippa. I kind of snapped at them, and Shrippa backed me up and was like, you tell him, Johnny.

And then once Sharrippa told everybody to stay in line, they all stayed in li…

So that was nice. And I’m checking my notes here because I can’t remember, you know, I told the full story, and I can’t remember what you heard or not. All right, it looks like you didn’t hear the part about The guests on that particular episode were Robert Goulay if you’re old, you know who that is. If you’re younger’ like who I think mister Gulay may have had a beverage or two or five or eleven, or maybe not at all. And Debbie Gibson, who was beautiful anyway.

Vinny good guy, had a temper. You can google some stuff about Vinnie and it’ll show up in the news, the temper. Sometimes he’d be a little annoying to work with, but a good guy, and I stayed friends with him after The Wise Guy showanded, and after I left Sirious and for Reels last week, I was thinking of reaching out to him because I was talking to a friend about showbiz and how all these actors. When you work, you make money, but when you don’t work, you don’t make any money. And I was thinking about Steve Shriippa and Vinnie, and I almost reached out to Vinnie, and I did not.

Vinnie Passtoor was eighty years old and a good guy, and I’m glad that people on the internet are remembering him fondly. Let’s do one more and get out of here before the wife shows up with the Chinese food. There’s a trailer out for season two of Leanne. In season two, we follow Leanne Morgan’s character Lean as her world is turned upside down, and it takes place after the character’s husband of thirty three years unexpectedly leaves her for another woman. I wonder how her real life husband’s gonna feel about that.

Supported by her family, including her Ride or Die sister Carol, Leanne learns to embrace the chaos and find strength, laughter, and hope in the most unexpected places. Leanne tells people to see how Leanne navigates this new chapter of her life, handling a divorce, caring for each parents, dating at sixty. How old are her parents if she’s sixty and trying to make sense of it all the way we all do. I hope people find it both relatable and hilarious. Oh we learned.

The season opens with my elderly parents, Celia Weston and Blake Clark, moving into my house.

And now how old are they?

If Leanne is playing a sixty year old character, how old are these parents? Celia Weston is seventy four, so your mom is fourteen years older. Than you, and alright, and Blake Clark held is Blake Clark. He’s eighty all right, so he was twenty when he had Leanne. All right, then that works a little bit.

John, It’s a sitcom on Netflix. Why are you worried about if it makes sense or not? I don’t know. Leanne says she can relate to this feeling. Her own parents are eighty three and eighty five.

She says, they’re still in their home, but they need more assistance with each passing year. There’s real tension that comes with everyone living under one roof. We have to find the humor in it to get through. See. I forget my parents were a little older when they had me.

I probably quote unquote should have been born in like nineteen sixty four, but I was not. I really digre. I mean, the live stream just made me sad. Like I said, maybe we’ll try again today. Maybe not.

That is your comedy news for today. See you tomorrow.

Caloroga Shark Media. Twitter, I’m Johnny Mac with your Daily Comedy News. True to his words, Gianmarco Soresi Sarasi posted the State of the Industry speech that he did with Jaye Jorden up at the Montreal Comedy Festival. I did share it in the Facebook group, and no, no, I didn’t share in the Facebook group. I went to share it in the Facebook group and then Dylan, one of the power users in the group, had beat me to the punch by two minutes, and I was like, ah, I mean, it doesn’t really matter.

The idea is for everybody to get to see the clip. Well played, Dylan. Anyway, let’s listen to the section about Tony Hinchcliff, shall we just you know, we. Got a lot of Tony jokes. We have more than he’s ever written.

Actually, I mean, but look, everyone’s seen kill Tony, but nobody has ever seen Tony kill. Tony Hinchecliff impressively had the worst Netflix special I’ve ever seen since the last Tony Hinchcliff special. Did he film the new one? In my treol because it had just four laughs.

Also, also, ladies, if you want to see Tony deliver a punch, of actually land…

Him, allegedly. Allegedly, yes, yes, yes, yeah. I don’t love the guy, but his show’s made a real difference because, unlike the industry, kill Tony provides disabled comedians with some kind of ramp. It’s true, It’s true. Kill Tony is giving a lot of opportunities to physically disabled comedians who want mentally disabled fans.

Get in famous from kill Tony. Sort of a monkey’s Paul gift, and a monkey’s Paul is what Tony Hinchlip calls black people’s hands. Look, you can’t deny it. Kill Tony is crushing. It’s because they do what agents and managers can’t do.

They get people seen. You guys can’t get Brian Reagan another comedy special, while kill Tony turns homeless people into household names. Now, I want to take a minute here to get like kind of this has been bothering me. I’m actually recording this on Thursday because I wanted to take the long weekend in a summer Friday. But I cannot stop staring at the list of comedians booked for September tenth at Madison Square Garden.

This is New York City still rising the nine to eleven benefit John Stewart behind this. No one can possibly question John Stewart when it comes to nine to eleven. And I don’t came here to shade anybody involved here, but I keep staring at this guest list and something about it is jumping out at me. I talked about this a little bit on Friday. I shared a post about it in the Facebook group.

And I’m really struggling with this guest list now. Just about me. I was born in New York City, raised in Queens. On nine to eleven, two thousand and one, I was thirty two years old. I was a WR radio in New York City in Manhattan fortieth Street and Broadway.

Don’t want to make it sound like I was across the street from the World Trade Center. However, we had a big bay window, and back in those days you could see all the way downtown to the Twin Towers. And I watched the things on fire with my own eyes, and I saw the first tower fall with mine own eyes. Looking out the window for the second tower, I was actually giving somebody a break to run the board for a few minutes so they could hit the bathroom because they had been on the board for four hours. So that is my perspective, that is my bias, that is my background.

I’m a New Yorker and I keep staring at this guest list and it just seems mathematically odd. I don’t think anybody’s up to something. It just seems odd. Here’s the guest list again as e’sn Sorry who last year played the Riyadh Comedy Festival, Bill Burr, who last year played the Riyadh Comedy Festival. Dave Chappelle, same note, Ronny Chieng, same note.

Pete Davidson, whose father was Scott was killed on nine to eleven, also played the Redd Comedy Festival. Comedians also announced too didn’t play the festival, Nikki Glaser, Josh Johnson, John Stewart, plus special guests. And I keep looking at the list and I’m like, huh, of all the comedians in the world, the first five played that comedy festival in Saudi Arabia last year. I don’t even know what I’m trying to say. I just keep staring at it and I’m like, it’s weird.

It’s just weird.

And then I think about what this event might be.

Is Ronny Chieng supposed to go out and do ten minutes about the Saudis. But I guess he wouldn’t now because he got a nice paycheck last year, and maybe they have another festival and he wants to go back. I don’t know. Ask Ronny Chieng asked, Bill Burr, asked Dave Chappelle, Ask cause he’s in Sorry, is Dave Chappelle gonna pull a punch? I’m gonna ask the question now.

Dave can go up and do ten minutes about the Saudis. He did ten minutes about the Saudis in Saudi Arabia. I don’t know. I don’t even know what I’m trying to say here. I’m just saying I keep staring at as He’sn’m sorry, Bill Burr, Dave Chappelle, Ronny Chieng, Pete Davidson.

They just happen to be the first five names by alphabetical order if you sort by their last name. But it’s just odd to me that of all the comedians in the world, it’s those five. I thought of some other people who you know, might be good at such a thing. John Mulaney, Well, I looked. John Mulaney has another gig already booked on September tenth, So that makes it Jim Gaffigan not here to Shaye.

Jim Gaffigan just he’s a comedian that came to mind. He seems to have an open date. He has a date in Notre Dame on September eleventh. Let’s see what Shane Gillis is up to. Not a New Yorker, but you know, a comedian of notes these days.

The only date on Shane’s calendar right now is August eighth. I look at the event they had five years ago, David Tell, David Tell seems like somebody you might want to have it, this thing this time. David Tell has a date in Bangor Main on August twenty second, and his website is showing me he’s free until September eighteenth, when he will be in Des Moines. Maybe David Tel comes, Maybe he will come. Maybe they just didn’t book him yet.

From the event five years ago, it was also Ronny Chieng, Pete Davidson, Jimmy Fallon, Colin Jost Laney, j Farrow, Colin Quinn, Amy Schumer, Amy Schumer likes media attention. Why is it Amy Schumer at this one? Amy Schumer doesn’t seem to have anything booked right now. This seems like an event. Amy Schumer come out again.

Lineup will evolve not saying anybody’s up to anything. All really saying is I’m staring at the names and those first five all played Riyadh and it’s just weird. It’s a weird coincidence. It’s a weird statistical coincidence, and I don’t know what it means, but it’s bothering me. And that’s all.

I just needed to get that out of my system today. You can come at in the Facebook group. We’re on Spotify. Tell me I’m making much ado about nothing. That’s why I started the Facebook thread.

I wanted to see if like, maybe I’m just crazy, but I’m just I’m being honest here. This list is bothering me. I’m not even sure why it’s bothering me, but it’s bothered me. Let’s move on, sort of. Patricia Heaton, you may know her from Everybody Loves Raymond, among other things, she has back to petition organized by families of nine to eleven victims.

The petition has recorded at least forty five thousand signatures as of last Wednesday. Patricia Heaton has joined families of the victims in calling for the Mayor of New York City, Zoroon Mamdani, not to attend the twenty fifth anniversary at Ground Zero. In fact, using the term band she reposted the change dot org petition link on her social media and wrote, keep it going, New Yorkers. If you’re not familiar with the mayor, he is the one hundred and twelfth mayor of New York City since twenty twenty six. He is a member of the Democratic Party and the Democratic Socialists of America.

That makes him a controversial figure. He is New York City’s first Muslim mayor. He was born in Uganda and moved to New York City at seven years old. Like many political figures, he is quite polarizing. We’ll see how this all shakes out.

I apologize to you. I have to play a clip of Rosie O’Donnell singing. I know you’re like John, Please please don’t do that to us, but I must. It’s the only way to make this next segment of the show work. You have to sit through this.

Here is Rosy O’Donnell singing about the President of the United States. His approval raid is thirty. His diapers always dirty. I think the guy’s insane. Doaa Nanna, he ain’t no stable.

Jeney’s got a teeny tiny but he doesn’t have a brain. The reflecting pool is green. His reasons were ubscene. It’s him we all do blame. Dona Nanna.

He grew a magic ear stole billions in a year cause he doesn’t have a brain. I did clip it there. I couldn’t take any more. Podcaster Ben Shapiro commented on that video and said, Rosie O’Donnell, she was in Ireland, then she came back, which is unfortunate. Well, now she’s decided that we all need to hear her rewritings of the lyrics to the Wizard of Oz.

I had to hear it. That means you also had to hear it, and Johnny Max says the same thing. I needed you to hear it. John is the show gonna be any fun at all today? Yes?

It is. Bruce Hills. Remember that guy from Just for Laughs? He got the Just for Laughs Legacy Award. I think it was.

He used to run programming up there and they parted ways during the financial difficulties with the old regime. If I remember correctly, great guy anyway, the Just for Laughs in a New Regime made a video. Bruce Hill shared it on his LinkedIn page. I will share the first minute or so of it. Here’s Ronnie Ching.

Thank you to Just for Las for giving this fake award to Bruce Hills. Over the last few decades, Bruce Hills has helped discover generations of comedians at Just for Lass. He then uses that leverage to emotionally blackmail us, holding it over our heads, forcing us to perform at Just for Las for below market rate, no matter how inconvenient it is to all personal schedules. And with this thank you video, I consider my blood debt to you finally paid in full. Thank you, Bruce Hills.

Comedy Central announced a three episode podcast called thirty fing Years. The daily show remembers out today. The podcast brings together Jordan Clipper or Desiliitik Ronny Chieng mentioned for the third time on Today’s podcast, Michael Costa, Josh Johnson, Grace cool Andschmidt, and Troy Awana to visit favorite moments from the Late Night franchises first three decades. Did did they not get John to do anything? Did Trevor not want to do anything?

Did Creik kilbourd not want to do anything. I mean, we all love the B team, but there’s some big names missing here. According to Comedy Central, other group, we’ll look back at unforgettable moments, iconic field pieces, and legendary correspondence who helped define the show across its many eras did the thirtieth anniversary sneak up on you guys, because I’m sure if in the last seven years he had asked, say, Steve Carell or Stephen Colbert, Hey, we’re going to do this thing for the thirtieth, can you give me like a minute over zoom, I’m sure they would have said, yes, my guest, having done this for three decades plus, is somebody like last week was like, you know, we ought to do something for the thirtieth. I’bout a podcast. Okay, Now John’s on vacation.

He doesn’t want to do it. Is Trevor around, Well we can’t if Trevor we want have John? Yeah, a good point. So anybody have Carrel’s number, Well, we can’t have Correl if we don’t have John. And are we going to ask John Oliver?

And now we can’t ask John Oliver. He’s over with the HBO.

All right, let’s just do the B team something like that happened.

We are feisty today, Johnny Mac. I know I’m in a good mood, but I’m telling you, I keep staring at that nine to eleven concert and it’s weird. It’s just weird. Richard Pryce may soon be getting a film now. We’ve heard various versions of a Richard Pryor biopic over the years.

Currently, Latigo Films and Inaugural Entertainment have acquired the rights to Something We Said Colin Richard Pryor a notorious word in Me, a Simon and Schuster memoir from Richard Pryor’s daughter, Elizabeth Struder Prior, we were told Something We Said chronicles Elizabeth’s decades long journey of coming to know her father, navigating the complicated terrain between a man who stood alone with the pinnacle of American comedy and the father he struggled to be. But the producers said, Richard Pryor courageously broke barriers that would forever change the comedy world and took it to new levels. We then saw that translated to the big screen, with one box office hit after another, establishing Prior as the biggest comedy star of the seventies and eighties. Hmm, should we pick that apart gut reaction seventies? Okay, sure, I won’t fight you.

Eighties. I don’t know. I’d have to look at his work. Shall we look at his work? Sure?

I’m on IMDb? Okay? Nineteen eighty Holy Moses, he played Pharaoh nineteen eighty In God We Trust nineteen eighty, Stir Crazy nineteen eighty one, Bust and Loose nineteen eighty two, Some Kind of Hero nineteen eighty two, The Toy Okay, The Toy nineteen eighty three, Superman three, which is awful. Thirteen episodes of The Prior’s Place TV Show in eighty four, Brewsters millions, not a beloved one, Jojo Dancy, Your Life is Calling in eighty six, Critical Condition in eighty seven, Moving in eighty eight, See No Evil Here, No Evil in eighty nine, Harlem Knights in eighty nine, Which might be a quick time to make a case for Eddie Murphy being the comedy star of the eighties. Look at his movies, putting Aside, Saturday Night Live and The Two Great Comedy Specials nineteen eighty two, forty eight Hours, nineteen eighty three, Trading Places eighty four, Best Defense eighty four, Beverly Hills Cop.

All Right, I already played forty eight hours. Trading Place is Beverly Hills Cop against Richard Pryor’s eighties work Golden Child Cop two Coming to America and Harlem Knights. I digress but again, Richard Pryor on any comedian listening, make either number one or number two comedy star of the seventies, sure eighties. I don’t know anyway. If they make a Richard Pryor movie, I will watch it.

What was the thing that starred Andrew Santino? John you host the show you’re supposed to tell us? It was the cable show about the comedians in the seventies. They had somebody play Richard Pryor on that he was really good. What was that called I’m Dying up Here?

Santino played Bill Hobbs. If you haven’t seen that show, find it somewhere. Let me see if I can find a few on just watch. I’m Dying up Here explores the la stand up scenes circa in nineteen seventy three. I thought it was great.

Johnny Mac, You’re all over the place today I know Today on Gorilla Comedy Plus Connor Burns Gallas.

Also congratulations to Joanne McNally.

She’ll get a Netflix as special in twenty twenty seven her debut hour long special. It is called Pino File. The first time I read that as Pinto file. Who would be someone afraid of a Ford car in the seventies that might explode? That’s not what this is.

This is Pino File, and in it, Joanne McNally delivers stories on modern dating, covering everything from rejection and frenemies to situations and revenge fantasies. They’re going to tape it in town Hall, New York City as part of the New York Comedy Festival on Saturday, November seven. Her new show Penal File, comes following her previous tour, in which she played a record breaking seventy eight show run in Dublin. And that is your comedy news for today. See you tomorrow.

Caloroga Shark Media from Poolside. I’m Johnny mag with your daily commedy news. Jhanny Mag are ree poolside again. Yeah man, it’s August now. A month from now, you know it’ll be cooler and I’ll be teaching my college class about podcasting.

And you know you gotta enjoy these moments while you can. Trevor Noah is back involved with the South African tourism industry. They’ve launched a second international marketing campaign featuring comedian Trevor Noah. They are seeking to attract more foreign visitors at a time when the country’s global reputation has been dented by renewed xenophobic tensions and anti illegal immigration protests. The Tourism Business Council of South Africa and Tourism Marketing South Africa unveiled the Tourism in South Africa with Trevor Noah campaign.

The campaign is titled didn’t Say We didn’t tell you. Let’s let Trevor Noah tell you about it. Hi. There, I’m Trevor Noah, still South African, still a comedian, and still getting from all over the world about South Africa because I guess apparently I’m the only South African people can ask why not ask black coffee Charlease Elon? Okay, maybe don’t ask Elon.

But the point is I’ve decided to come to our tourism headquarters to answer your questions head on, questions like this, Why didn’t anyone tell me there were so many climates? I only pecked for the beach. Well, English been three to six, then South Africa we have it all. You can explore. Majestic mountains has skating waterfalls, desert dunes and boundless savannah plains.

You get the idea. Now, as it turns out, I’ve got a whole bunch of travel vacation e type things to tell you about today. Chelsea Handler laid out her strict rules for family vacation. She spoke to People magazine about this, and she said, if you want a vacation with me, these are the rules. Okay, what are the rules?

Chelsea Handler? By the way, if you want to hear just how relatable Chelsea Handler is, pay attention here. In her twenty twenty five book I’ll Have what She’s having, she wrote a letter to her extended family establishing proper vacation etiquette after she paid to take them on a trip one year. That’s nice. She observed a quote shortfall of manners and left feeling quote embarrassed and taken advantage of after they visited her homes in this is very relatable.

Los Angeles, okay, fine, Majorca in Spain, and Martha’s Vineyard in Massachusetts, because you know everybody has those kind of places. Her first request were for her family to say hello to all the people working in the home. We are told they didn’t need to have long conversations with the housekeepers, but they do need to acknowledge their existence out of decency and respect. Chelsea Handler asked that her family be thoughtful of others when it comes to food and drinks. Clean your plates after a meal and put them in the dishwasher, and do not consume copious amounts of alcohol.

Wait until everyone’s been served before grabbing more food. And when I make a picture of Martaritez, don’t finish the picture unless you’re willing to make another. She expects her guests, especially younger relatives, to remain engage during family activities like a game, movie, or dinner. She says they can sacrifice their phones and video games to be present for an hour or two at night. Sounds like a lot of fun hanging out with Chelsea Handler.

She requires a contribution from her guests. A contribution does not mean financial, it means what pleasantness are you planning to bring on vacation. It’s not a free for all. I don’t care how much our family annoys you. It’s the only one we’ve got and we’re stuck together for life.

She sounds fun.

Meanwhile, Rob Beckett spoke to the Guardian.

You know Rob from last one laughing at uk. Rob Beckett’s till the Guardian. We do a lot of Disney theme park holidays. When my wife turns into some sort of army sergeant. She’s up at the crack of dawn, backpock on, hair done and pigtails, hat on.

Kids ready to go. That’s how you gotta do Disney, dude. You got to be there the second the gates open and make a b line for space mountain. Beckett said, when you have kids, they basically ruin holidays because you’re not relaxing. You’re parenting and more danger hotter, with less sleep.

And then they get to an age where they’re big enough to play in the pool, but they’re also having their own separate holiday. They’ll be in the pool playing with each other, so you’re getting in for a bit, but they don’t want you to play, and then they play with some mates they’ve met, Whereas when you go to Disney, it feels like you’re on holiday with them as mates because you’re going on the rides together, eating together, you go to bed at the same time you wake up, so it feels like you’re on holiday with them. A different vacation. Rob Beckett said, we went to Spain last year after being really busy five nights in a row. The whole family slept for ten hours.

We just did nothing and then basically we go to breakfast five minutes before it ends. He would not like traveling with me. My family makes fun of me. I have a full day itinerary, and I mean full day now. Their brains are an autopo that I’m like, hey, we got to be here, we’re doing this activity.

Here’s your passes. I have a folder. If I get hit by an asteroid, somebody else can run the vacation. It’s all laid out. Here’s all the vouchers, here’s everything, here’s the schedule, Here’s where you get the bus, all that, But I don’t go on vacation to see the hotel room.

I want to see the destiny.

Also, as much as I love the beach, I don’t go to the beach on vacation becaus…

Believe me, Australia has got awesome beaches. And I did one one half day on Bandai Beach, which was just amazing. But I was like, you know, I could sit on the beach at home. I can’t climb the Sydney Harbor Bridge, which is a real thing I did, which I highly recommend a lot of fun. I can’t do that at home.

I digress. Rob Beckett said, I’d sleep forever. I was so relaxed that one time I was on the balcony It’s like around five o’clock. The kids were out of the bath chilling and lou was getting ready for the night. I was sort of josing and I said to myself, if I die now, that’s fine, I’m all right.

And he laughed at that notion. Different vacation, I went to Seville with my wife and a couple of friends and that was amazing. We watched real Ba tiasplay. I love football, so Ville is amazing for eating and drinking, so that was really nice. Go in August.

If they’re having a bit of a cold week, book a last minute deal because the hotels will be cheap. It’s really quiet and empty because it’s too hot for most people to go. But if you keep an eye on it, you get cheap accommodation and cheap flights at the temperature drops. That’s interesting. Spain is awesome.

Beckett says, we’re going to do a road trip through Europe, which we’ve never done before. We’re going to drive through France in the Champagne region and then end up at Europa Park at theme park in Germany. I do love a hotel room with the family because I feel you’re just war relaxed, and the kids love breakfast. They go down and absolutely demolish it, and then you set them up for the day. Keenan Thompson has some car buying tips.

Now this is an advertorial. He was being paid to share these tips, but let’s roll with it. Keenan Thompson has some must have car essentials for parents. Number one hand sanitizing wipes Keenan Thompson says, definitely wipes. You gotta have wipes when you have kids.

Number Two hand sanitizer. He keeps hand sanitizer nearby for quick cleanups after snacks, playground trips, and busy days on the go. He also keeps napkins on hands just in case. You know. I use the middle console thing in my car and I always have napkins in there until my wife gets in the car and boys, she goes through all the napkins.

I don’t know what she’s doing over there. Shotgun. A lot of napkins disappear, and then I have to go to Wendy’s and get new napkins. Keenan said, I try to keep my car pretty clean and not a lot of clutter, you know. So I’ve done that.

Then my not the car i’m driving now, my last car, this Hyundai Tucson that I got out when the kids were young, and I decided this car I’m not going to be precious about. There’s a line I like that said that battleships aren’t meant to sit in dry dock. They’re meant to go out and get in battle. So I took that attitude with my Hyundai Tucson, which served me really well. I got to two hundred and five thousand miles and then the transmission broke and I wanted to save it, and my and my mechanic that I’ve been using for years look me, and I was like, don’t.

So I had to let that one go. But anyway, with that car, I decided, this is the car that’s going to go to soccer games and to the beach, and it’s going to get sand in it, and it’s gonna get dirty, and that’s okay. And that’s what that car did, and I loved it. Before starring on SNL, Keenan Thompson was saving up for his first car, a Toyota four Runner. He said it was my prize possession because I bought it with my own hard earned cash.

It wasn’t gifted to me. It was something I earned. My favorite feature was that the backglass window would roll down. I thought that was really cool for a hatchback kind of truck. I thought this was fun.

From Deadline, it’s called the laugh List. It is a list of the year’s best unproduced to comedy screenplays. Deadline explains it is a new ongoing survey recognizing the year’s most promising unproduced comedy screenplays. Unveiled in association with Just for Last Montreal, The list has ten screenplays that emerge from a field of more than forty nominated projects. The scripts are in various stages of development, somewhat studios attached and some not.

Here is the list. Number one. Daniel Bennett Needs a Friend. The world’s richest and loneliest man funnels his near infinite resources into making one friend. I could see Steve Carell in that Couldn’t You?

Yeah? The Flu Game during the nineteen ninety seven NBA Finals, pretty specific, four desperate Utah Jazz fans bet their life savings against the Chicago Bulls and hatch an idiotic plan to poison Michael Jordan, accidentally creating the infamous and very real Flu Game. That sounds amazing. Let’s get that made right now. Who should we cast in that as Utah Jazz fans?

Maybe like Ben Marshall from the Police. Don’t destroy guys, Marcelo Hernandez. Let’s reunite everybody from the seventy two hours movie. Why not? Next up, it’s I’d like to speak to your manager, Jake, really, really wants to return those stupid little paper towels.

I don’t have any ideas for that one. How about Island Man, after heroically sacrificing himself to save a hijack plane and spending five years on a deserted island. This already screams Sandler. A roguish doctor returns from near death to reunite with the love of his life, only to discover she’s married a totally normal dude named Jake. But this isn’t the hero story.

It’s Jake’s and Jake is so eft that could be Sandler right. Next up, it’s pistols at three forty five. After a petty online feud between two local councilmen goes viral, the politicians are pressured by their small town into a real life gun duel, leaving them both desperately trying to figure out how to get out of it without looking like a woos Well. Ferrell popped into mind as I read that to you. In Rush, a college student is sexually assaulted by frat guy that’s not funny, who faces no consequences.

She and her best friend rushes fraternity undercover to get revenge, only to I’m the unlikely stars of Delta Iota Kappa’s pledge class and get in way too deep, too complicated for me to work out. How about this could be our night after the release of a crush list, there is the final night of high school and a chaos. Two best friends must sneak out to a wild graduation party so one of them can hook up with her longtime crush. How about the accidental scroll. A man is recording his podcast next to the pool when suddenly his mouse jumps and moves the script at Now that’s not a real movie, although we could make that where worry the planet is effing awesome, except they actually use the naughty F word in the title.

Not sure that’s going to make it to the theatrical release. That might be a working title anyway. Twenty years after their best friend went missing, a group of stoner friends or zapped to a fun party planet where they find him alive. They must race across the planet before the only portloald or home closes forever. I don’t know about that one.

That sounds like one episode of Rick and Morty. Next up, it’s untitled erotic teen fan fiction movie eighteen writing erotic fiction online must collaborate with her schools. Primisky was quarterback when asked to write about her non existent love life for a publisher, I’ll pass on that.

And then there’s Witch Please.

Two black wannabe viral ghost hunters are transported back to sixteen hundreds, Massachusetts to defend a little white girl’s mother who’s been accused of being a witch. That one does have a producer attached Kevin Hart’s heartbeat. That is your comedy news on a summer Sunday. We’ll see you tomorrow.

Caloroga Shark Media. Jimmy Buffett once said, looking for some peace and quiet, hope to see the sun again. And that’s me wherever I am right now. That’s what I’m doing because it is August first, which means I’m starting to panic and count down the seconds until Labor Day. I have to get in all the summer I can.

Hi, I’m Johnny meck with Today’s at Daily Comedy News Normal Episodes today. I know I’ve been doing the deep dives in the summer, but it just wasn’t feeling anything. I had something sketched out about Andrew Schultz and Tiovanna. I just wasn’t feeling either one of them. During the week, I came across this clip involving Kevin Hart.

It’s apparently from twenty twenty five, but it had never hit my radar before. He seems to be on ze Way’s Interview show, and I had to actually verify that by running the clip through AI. I just saw this clip on the internet, and where is this from? When is it from? AI is telling me at ze Way’s show from twenty twenty five, and this whole thing is weird.

She goes after Kevin Hart for flying private and Kevin’s whole vibe is like, why are you coming at me? And it’s just weird because for any of these shows, whether it’s a big show that’s Tonight’s show, a guy doing a podcast in his basement, when you have somebody on as your guest, you’re not having them on to be a jerk to them, like, let’s just play this out. If for some reason I booked Adam Sandler, now I’m not gonna hide from the things. I would steer my interview to being like, dude, you’re a really good dramatic actor. I mean, I don’t know about Happy Gilmore too, dude, but like j Kelly, you crushed it.

That would be my vibe. I wouldn’t sit here and just list Adam Sandler movies and tell him he sucks. He sucks, he sucks, you know what I mean. So this whole clip with Kevin Hart, his face is like, what is even happening? Why are you coming at me?

And I just thought it was interesting and wanted to share it. So here’s Kevin Hart being attacked. You climate criminal. When was the last time you flew commercial? Seventeen years ago?

Shut? I had to get the date. I didn’t want to give you a false date. I had to get the date right, and I said, what is the day? I thought about it seventeen years ago?

All of you are complicent by the way, sick, disgusting, evil people. I don’t understand why that’s a bad thing. What am I doing wrong? Because I work during the day, so I can’t fly doing it? Oh, you’re the only American that works during the day.

No, I know. I didn’t realize that Kevin Hart of Heartbeat Productions got heart one hundred million on a thirty million dollar budget, works during the day. Excuse him? What? Yeah?

Yeah, So I mean that’s why, because I’m my schedule and that I need a bed to sleep on the plane? Where else starting going to put the bed? We’ve been so rich for so long. I don’t understand what’s happening. I need a bed because of my schedule and that I need a bed to sleep on the plane.

We’re else starting gonna put the bed? You have been so rich for so long. I don’t understand what’s happening. Like was the what. Just home following you?

What’s bad about that? I don’t think Kevin Hort is wrong. There don’t have Kevin Hart On to do that to him. If you don’t like the guys work, just don’t have him on. The Baltimore Sun was at the taping of Stavros Halkias special.

If you listened yesterday, I told you to buy some Stavros in the comedy stock Market and I said I had bumped the story. This is the bumped story spoilers from the show, which I guess will show up in the special, some Baltimore related material, and Stavros Halkias was wondering why the Baltimore football team is named the Ravens, and apparently he doesn’t think Edgar Allan Poe is the greatest hero. We were told that factually, Edgar Allan Poe married his thirteen year old cousin how can he is, who attended the University of Maryland told the audience his tie to Baltimore is actually he’s an incestuous pedophile and his wife was from Baltimore, his child bride, and we were like, yeah, that’s what our football team is named after. We don’t even read. A lot of people in the audience were wearing Baltimore gear.

A lot of Ravens jerseys Oriols t shirts and hats made appearances, and the Oriel Bird mascot was also on hand. I was on a date with my now wife at an Oriols game a million years ago and the oriol Bird made fun of me for having a big belly. Now, the oril Birds is not wrong, but I got called fat by the Oriel Bird. He was like doing a whistling thing and like pointing out my wife and pointing at me, and then tapped my stomach and made like a sheesh kind of face. I was mocked by the Oriel Bird mascot.

During his set, Howkey has focused on weight loss, saying he has lost seventy pounds, but said I still wear a lose seventy pounds, maintain every X. That’s not how it goes. All four performances were recorded, says The Baltimore Sun. Okays wore shiny red basketball shoes and a bright blue tracksuit with his upper chest exposed. You had to wear that outfit for all four sets so the editors could put together a good special.

Had a little shade, The Sun writes. The sund requested an interview with Halkius. Neither United Talent Agency, which represents the comic nor Live Nation, which operated the shows, made him available. Okay, then otsco at Cotska is getting a half hour sitcom and I love her and I’m just picturing this in my head and this is going to be awful. I’m sorry.

Love her, absolutely love her sitcom. I don’t know. Plot details on the show’s title are being kept under wraps. But apparently it’s a vehicle for Otsgo about modern marriage. Now maybe a hint here.

In a recent episode of Deadlines, Comedy means Business podcast, Otsgo talked about her ambition to crack film and TV, citing Lucille Ball as an inspiray. I don’t know. Maria Bamford got profiled by The hollod reporter. Maria Bamford told them the most important thing I like myself. I’m proud of my work.

I’m not for everyone. I’m not a crowd pleaser. Talked about her own struggles. I started going to alan On with the twelve step program for how to deal with alcoholism because I had a hard time with show business where it’s we love you, shut up, go away, can’t remember your name. She keeps doing her act to stay above water, writes the hollod reporter Maria said, people have eyes on me if I start talking too fast and have some crappy ideas, or if I’m talking like what if I walked into a bus.

There’s something about the communal sharing that’s just great. You can go see comedy or TV show and the characters talk about something. You go, hey, that was crazy. We just watched what If I had something like that, So it’s a representation of the full human experience. Interesting quote here she says, if I’m not going to do well at the laugh Factory at a late night spot, I’m gonna tank.

Oh my god, I have far too many words. A lot of my act is passive aggressive. I’m not clearly stating my point of view. The Guardian profiled Mary Beth Burrone. She called her a Netflix special Galaxy brain when of the most meaningful milestones of her career so far.

So many of the goalposts have changed for comedians with the Internet, but the one consonant is the hour long special with an esteem network or streamer. With the special, it feels like you’ve achieved something pretty rare and they’re betting on you again. Be proud, celebrate. I don’t know if a Netflix special is rare these days. Not everyone gets them, but you know it’s not the rarest thing.

But yeah, be proud. Bron says comedy has become increasingly polarized. There are people who want to make a cash grab, or there’s nothing they could do that would make their audience turn against them. She was talking about the Breau podcasters here. It’s genius if you think about it.

It’s creating a space where you can say anything and do anything and you’ll never be held accountable. The Guardian writes she’s particularly horrified by the rise of Andrew Schultz, the self styled everyman dufus, whose flagrant podcast series cultivates them a cheesemo fueled atmosphere of casual racism and sexist views, and who invited Trump on for a cozy chat ahead of the twenty twenty four elections. Set your letters to The Guardian, maryn Set. I’d always see him Schultz at the New York’s Comedy Seller when I was starting out. He was so funny.

I literally thought he was hot. I think I slid into his DMS one time. I’ve watched him create this space where I’m like, you just want to perpetuate the bigotry and the systems that have benefited people that look like you all the time. I guess have money is the most important thing to you. That makes sense.

But I have integrity, so I can never do something like that. Just hard a stomach that those are my coworkers. Technically nice piece about Nick Kroll in the Hollywood Reporter. They tell us the first cancer fundraiser Nick Kroll ever organized was for fictional dogs. The benefit was called Pirate Girl Rum Presents a Rocking Beach Bash to benefit cupcakes for canine cancer.

It was a bit on kroll Show. It made fun of a certain breed of la philanthropy, where sponsorship logos, celebrity selfies, and branded desserts often seemed as important as the cause itself. Well, Kroll’s now doing it for real. His annual Comedy Versus Cancer benefit has raised more than ten million dollars for blood cancer research at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, which is a great place. My dad passed through there a million years ago, and they those people are good people.

Fifteen years ago, Kroll’s sister in law, Na Cole, was diagnosed with non Hotchkin lymphoma During treatment, she met Jennifer, another patient. The two women became close. Jennifer’s husband happened to be vaguely connected to Tina Fey. So between all that performers were willing to help. Kroll curates the lineup himself.

John Mulaney has appeared multiple times, so of Birbiglia, gaff Agin, Seth Meyers, John Oliver, Tina Fey, Hasan Minhaj and Brett Goldstein. Steve Martin does it every year. The Hollood Reporter tells us the event has a familiar rhythm their stand up throughout the night, followed by an appeal for donations beyond the already expensive ticket price. This year’s event raised two point seven million dollars. Every dollar goes directly towards blood cancer research and treatment at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center.

Krol tries to keep it casually, says, some of these fundraisers shows feel a little stiff and the audience is a little cold. The more you can make it feel intimate and personal, the more impactful the whole thing can feel. And we are into August now, So in Montreal there’s another comedy festival. We’re told It’s the Smallest Comedy Festival every August for eight nights. A corner of Hurley’s Irish Pub Who comes host to one of Montreal’s most eclectic comedy festivals with stand up, trivia, music, CrowdWork, crafting, wrestling, surprise guests, new comics, comedy veterans.

It’s the fourth annual World’s Smallest Comedy Festival that launches August tenth with World’s Smallest All Stars, a showcase of some Montreal comedians. Then on August twelfth, it’s Wednesday Night Trivia. That’s what I like to do in the winter. It’s volleyball season. I missed the guys.

I haven’t seen the guys. Trivia guys, Hi, I know they listen. We’ll be back. Last week of volleyball is before Labor Day, so you see me around September ninth or so. But I have volleyball, so I can’t go up to Montreal on a Wednesday night to play trivia.

I could just go to Morristown. Why would I drive seven hours? The Jay and Joey Trivia Show takes over the festival for night of unforgettable laughs, competition, prizes, and questionable knowledge. We’re told The festival edition features legendary hosts Joey and Jay, the voices behind Montreal’s most iconic trivia show. Hey, trivia guys, maybe we ought to challenge them like New Jersey versus Montreal Trivia Guy showdown.

How we make money doing this? How this works? I don’t know. We’ll talk over two and a half beers a couple weeks from now.

And then there’s Toaster on August thirteenth.

You know roast battles, No, this is Toasting, hosted by Don McSweeney. The celebration of comedy, friendship and good vibes features comedians pairing off for a hilarious compliment battle that’s fun. For the full festival lineup, check out world’s smallest Dots Club Hurley’s Irish Pub in Montreal. That is your comedy news on a summer Saturday. It’s August first, the countdown to me being depressed.

The worst day in the world is the Tuesday after Labor Day. That is just that I’m in the tank that day. So if you’re looking for me and the sun is out, I’m outside. See you tomorrow.
