Caloroga Shark Media. Jimmy Buffett once said, looking for some peace and quiet, hope to see the sun again. And that’s me wherever I am right now. That’s what I’m doing because it is August first, which means I’m starting to panic and count down the seconds until Labor Day. I have to get in all the summer I can.

Hi, I’m Johnny meck with Today’s at Daily Comedy News Normal Episodes today. I know I’ve been doing the deep dives in the summer, but it just wasn’t feeling anything. I had something sketched out about Andrew Schultz and Tiovanna. I just wasn’t feeling either one of them. During the week, I came across this clip involving Kevin Hart.

It’s apparently from twenty twenty five, but it had never hit my radar before. He seems to be on ze Way’s Interview show, and I had to actually verify that by running the clip through AI. I just saw this clip on the internet, and where is this from? When is it from? AI is telling me at ze Way’s show from twenty twenty five, and this whole thing is weird.

She goes after Kevin Hart for flying private and Kevin’s whole vibe is like, why are you coming at me? And it’s just weird because for any of these shows, whether it’s a big show that’s Tonight’s show, a guy doing a podcast in his basement, when you have somebody on as your guest, you’re not having them on to be a jerk to them, like, let’s just play this out. If for some reason I booked Adam Sandler, now I’m not gonna hide from the things. I would steer my interview to being like, dude, you’re a really good dramatic actor. I mean, I don’t know about Happy Gilmore too, dude, but like j Kelly, you crushed it.

That would be my vibe. I wouldn’t sit here and just list Adam Sandler movies and tell him he sucks. He sucks, he sucks, you know what I mean. So this whole clip with Kevin Hart, his face is like, what is even happening? Why are you coming at me?

And I just thought it was interesting and wanted to share it. So here’s Kevin Hart being attacked. You climate criminal. When was the last time you flew commercial? Seventeen years ago?

Shut? I had to get the date. I didn’t want to give you a false date. I had to get the date right, and I said, what is the day? I thought about it seventeen years ago?

All of you are complicent by the way, sick, disgusting, evil people. I don’t understand why that’s a bad thing. What am I doing wrong? Because I work during the day, so I can’t fly doing it? Oh, you’re the only American that works during the day.

No, I know. I didn’t realize that Kevin Hart of Heartbeat Productions got heart one hundred million on a thirty million dollar budget, works during the day. Excuse him? What? Yeah?

Yeah, So I mean that’s why, because I’m my schedule and that I need a bed to sleep on the plane? Where else starting going to put the bed? We’ve been so rich for so long. I don’t understand what’s happening. I need a bed because of my schedule and that I need a bed to sleep on the plane.

We’re else starting gonna put the bed? You have been so rich for so long. I don’t understand what’s happening. Like was the what. Just home following you?

What’s bad about that? I don’t think Kevin Hort is wrong. There don’t have Kevin Hart On to do that to him. If you don’t like the guys work, just don’t have him on. The Baltimore Sun was at the taping of Stavros Halkias special.

If you listened yesterday, I told you to buy some Stavros in the comedy stock Market and I said I had bumped the story. This is the bumped story spoilers from the show, which I guess will show up in the special, some Baltimore related material, and Stavros Halkias was wondering why the Baltimore football team is named the Ravens, and apparently he doesn’t think Edgar Allan Poe is the greatest hero. We were told that factually, Edgar Allan Poe married his thirteen year old cousin how can he is, who attended the University of Maryland told the audience his tie to Baltimore is actually he’s an incestuous pedophile and his wife was from Baltimore, his child bride, and we were like, yeah, that’s what our football team is named after. We don’t even read. A lot of people in the audience were wearing Baltimore gear.

A lot of Ravens jerseys Oriols t shirts and hats made appearances, and the Oriel Bird mascot was also on hand. I was on a date with my now wife at an Oriols game a million years ago and the oriol Bird made fun of me for having a big belly. Now, the oril Birds is not wrong, but I got called fat by the Oriel Bird. He was like doing a whistling thing and like pointing out my wife and pointing at me, and then tapped my stomach and made like a sheesh kind of face. I was mocked by the Oriel Bird mascot.

During his set, Howkey has focused on weight loss, saying he has lost seventy pounds, but said I still wear a lose seventy pounds, maintain every X. That’s not how it goes. All four performances were recorded, says The Baltimore Sun. Okays wore shiny red basketball shoes and a bright blue tracksuit with his upper chest exposed. You had to wear that outfit for all four sets so the editors could put together a good special.

Had a little shade, The Sun writes. The sund requested an interview with Halkius. Neither United Talent Agency, which represents the comic nor Live Nation, which operated the shows, made him available. Okay, then otsco at Cotska is getting a half hour sitcom and I love her and I’m just picturing this in my head and this is going to be awful. I’m sorry.

Love her, absolutely love her sitcom. I don’t know. Plot details on the show’s title are being kept under wraps. But apparently it’s a vehicle for Otsgo about modern marriage. Now maybe a hint here.

In a recent episode of Deadlines, Comedy means Business podcast, Otsgo talked about her ambition to crack film and TV, citing Lucille Ball as an inspiray. I don’t know. Maria Bamford got profiled by The hollod reporter. Maria Bamford told them the most important thing I like myself. I’m proud of my work.

I’m not for everyone. I’m not a crowd pleaser. Talked about her own struggles. I started going to alan On with the twelve step program for how to deal with alcoholism because I had a hard time with show business where it’s we love you, shut up, go away, can’t remember your name. She keeps doing her act to stay above water, writes the hollod reporter Maria said, people have eyes on me if I start talking too fast and have some crappy ideas, or if I’m talking like what if I walked into a bus.

There’s something about the communal sharing that’s just great. You can go see comedy or TV show and the characters talk about something. You go, hey, that was crazy. We just watched what If I had something like that, So it’s a representation of the full human experience. Interesting quote here she says, if I’m not going to do well at the laugh Factory at a late night spot, I’m gonna tank.

Oh my god, I have far too many words. A lot of my act is passive aggressive. I’m not clearly stating my point of view. The Guardian profiled Mary Beth Burrone. She called her a Netflix special Galaxy brain when of the most meaningful milestones of her career so far.

So many of the goalposts have changed for comedians with the Internet, but the one consonant is the hour long special with an esteem network or streamer. With the special, it feels like you’ve achieved something pretty rare and they’re betting on you again. Be proud, celebrate. I don’t know if a Netflix special is rare these days. Not everyone gets them, but you know it’s not the rarest thing.

But yeah, be proud. Bron says comedy has become increasingly polarized. There are people who want to make a cash grab, or there’s nothing they could do that would make their audience turn against them. She was talking about the Breau podcasters here. It’s genius if you think about it.

It’s creating a space where you can say anything and do anything and you’ll never be held accountable. The Guardian writes she’s particularly horrified by the rise of Andrew Schultz, the self styled everyman dufus, whose flagrant podcast series cultivates them a cheesemo fueled atmosphere of casual racism and sexist views, and who invited Trump on for a cozy chat ahead of the twenty twenty four elections. Set your letters to The Guardian, maryn Set. I’d always see him Schultz at the New York’s Comedy Seller when I was starting out. He was so funny.

I literally thought he was hot. I think I slid into his DMS one time. I’ve watched him create this space where I’m like, you just want to perpetuate the bigotry and the systems that have benefited people that look like you all the time. I guess have money is the most important thing to you. That makes sense.

But I have integrity, so I can never do something like that. Just hard a stomach that those are my coworkers. Technically nice piece about Nick Kroll in the Hollywood Reporter. They tell us the first cancer fundraiser Nick Kroll ever organized was for fictional dogs. The benefit was called Pirate Girl Rum Presents a Rocking Beach Bash to benefit cupcakes for canine cancer.

It was a bit on kroll Show. It made fun of a certain breed of la philanthropy, where sponsorship logos, celebrity selfies, and branded desserts often seemed as important as the cause itself. Well, Kroll’s now doing it for real. His annual Comedy Versus Cancer benefit has raised more than ten million dollars for blood cancer research at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, which is a great place. My dad passed through there a million years ago, and they those people are good people.

Fifteen years ago, Kroll’s sister in law, Na Cole, was diagnosed with non Hotchkin lymphoma During treatment, she met Jennifer, another patient. The two women became close. Jennifer’s husband happened to be vaguely connected to Tina Fey. So between all that performers were willing to help. Kroll curates the lineup himself.

John Mulaney has appeared multiple times, so of Birbiglia, gaff Agin, Seth Meyers, John Oliver, Tina Fey, Hasan Minhaj and Brett Goldstein. Steve Martin does it every year. The Hollood Reporter tells us the event has a familiar rhythm their stand up throughout the night, followed by an appeal for donations beyond the already expensive ticket price. This year’s event raised two point seven million dollars. Every dollar goes directly towards blood cancer research and treatment at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center.

Krol tries to keep it casually, says, some of these fundraisers shows feel a little stiff and the audience is a little cold. The more you can make it feel intimate and personal, the more impactful the whole thing can feel. And we are into August now, So in Montreal there’s another comedy festival. We’re told It’s the Smallest Comedy Festival every August for eight nights. A corner of Hurley’s Irish Pub Who comes host to one of Montreal’s most eclectic comedy festivals with stand up, trivia, music, CrowdWork, crafting, wrestling, surprise guests, new comics, comedy veterans.

It’s the fourth annual World’s Smallest Comedy Festival that launches August tenth with World’s Smallest All Stars, a showcase of some Montreal comedians. Then on August twelfth, it’s Wednesday Night Trivia. That’s what I like to do in the winter. It’s volleyball season. I missed the guys.

I haven’t seen the guys. Trivia guys, Hi, I know they listen. We’ll be back. Last week of volleyball is before Labor Day, so you see me around September ninth or so. But I have volleyball, so I can’t go up to Montreal on a Wednesday night to play trivia.

I could just go to Morristown. Why would I drive seven hours? The Jay and Joey Trivia Show takes over the festival for night of unforgettable laughs, competition, prizes, and questionable knowledge. We’re told The festival edition features legendary hosts Joey and Jay, the voices behind Montreal’s most iconic trivia show. Hey, trivia guys, maybe we ought to challenge them like New Jersey versus Montreal Trivia Guy showdown.

How we make money doing this? How this works? I don’t know. We’ll talk over two and a half beers a couple weeks from now.

And then there’s Toaster on August thirteenth.

You know roast battles, No, this is Toasting, hosted by Don McSweeney. The celebration of comedy, friendship and good vibes features comedians pairing off for a hilarious compliment battle that’s fun. For the full festival lineup, check out world’s smallest Dots Club Hurley’s Irish Pub in Montreal. That is your comedy news on a summer Saturday. It’s August first, the countdown to me being depressed.

The worst day in the world is the Tuesday after Labor Day. That is just that I’m in the tank that day. So if you’re looking for me and the sun is out, I’m outside. See you tomorrow.
