Caloroga Shark Media. Hey there, I’m Johnny Mack with your Daily Comedy News. Interesting tweet by Ricky Turvaz. He was commenting on the Office spin off The Paper, and Ricky tweeted, It’s like The Office, but set in a dying local newspaper, like an afterlife. Do I get paid twice?

He then put a crying face emoji, you know, the happy crying face emoji, And there’s gotta be a little truth to that. Fox had their upfronts. My former coworker Jamie Fox was there and did an impression of President Donald Trump mispronouncing Tesla. Send your letters to Jamie Fox. Dennis Leary was there.

He told the audience to f off because there was a nix pep rally growing outside the garden. The Knicks lead the Celtics three games to one in a very entertaining basketball playoff series that I’ve been watching. David Letterman was at the Fox upfronts. He was lifted in the air by Michael Strahan in an effort to promote IndyCar We also learned an upfront season that famous comedy series, you know, the hilarious best comedy ever, The Bear. You know that one with all the jokes left and right.

You can’t stop laughing watching The Bear. It’ll be back June twenty fifth on Hulu. They’re doing that annoying binge release things, so like, I don’t know about you. I can sit and watch eight ten episodes of something on a Wednesday night, but then you wake up the next day and Vulture’s like the shocking death in episode nine of The Bear, and like there’s a picture of Karmi and you’re like, really, it’s pet peeve of mine. With the entertainment website spoiling everything.

At the Amazon upfronts, they announced Barber Shop, which will start Jermaine Feller. New adaptation will follow Travis traf Porter played by Feller, who’s following in the footsteps of his grandfather, a legendary barber at the iconic Calvin’s Barber Shop in Chicago. The log line, although the barbers are new, the shop remains just as lively, the customers just as argumentative, and the fathes are still the deepest in the city. Because of Calvin’s. The community comes together for way more than just a haircut.

The reviews for Tom Sigora’s Bad Thoughts are very strong, minor spoiler here, the av clubs had to say that bad Thoughts is messed up doesn’t really do it justice. A lot of TV comedies try to be edge or dark without getting anywhere near the demented through lines of these sketches. Each of these six short episodes could be easily named after bodily fluids or different worlds. For Genitalia. Fox News had some details of the Krescher and Tom Sigora five K from a while back.

I don’t know why it took a week for a recap to show up, but one did show up, Sigora told Fox News Digital. I guess he was out promoting a show, so that would make sense. We mistakenly said that we should do five k’s every year, and so now we have thousands of people coming out. We’re Raymond James Stadium and we’re doing a five K. We have like six thousand people who come through here throughout the day.

This all started with us fat shaming each other, something you’re not allowed to do, I guess, and we did it publicly on the biggest platform in the world, on Joe Rogan’s podcast, And so our approach to this has always been lighthearted, fun you bust your buddies, chaps. That’s kind of how we operate. And I mean this is that’s great. Just a way to bring people together and do something really good for yourself and then negate it all afterwards, so it’s have fun and then party. So honestly, Jelly getting behind this race really kind of inspired a lot of people try and change a little bit.

I mean, we’re looking at one lady who was five hundred pounds. That guy over there lost one hundred twenty pounds and that’s awesome. Matt Rif will star in the movie The es Court. The escort follows a reckless, flirtatious flight attendant on the brink of losing everything who’s unexpectedly tasked with mining a neurotic fourteen year old on his solo flight to boarding school. When a hurricane diverts their flight and strands them in the wrong city, the two opposites embark on a disastrous road trip that forces them to confront their fears flaws.

Well it really means to grow up. John Mulaney’s show is on tonight the topic why Can’t I Sleep? But Mullany, for the first time announced several weeks of topics Next week is is Uber Good?

And then on May twenty eighth, the finale Season Finale, we’ll see that one’s…

It is Believe. We will see Mulaney fight against three fourteen year olds in that final episode. My commentary there on season Finale or Finale did a story about a week ago where Robbie Proft from Netflix didn’t exactly say that the show was coming back, even though it had reportedly gotten a two season pickup. I’m not sure Netflix is that hot on this one Late Nighter has a list of the guests on these three shows. I don’t have a breakout for you, but sometime in the next three weeks, Amy Sidaris, Joe Mandy, Natasha Leone, Patton Oswalt, Sarah Silverman, Sean Penn, Sigourney Weaver, and Steve Guttenberg if I had to guess, and Natasha this week because her show is out and Sarah’s got a Netflix special once that one again, Sarah’s is May twentieth, so that’s next week, so that would make sense to have Sarah Silverman on next week.

Yes, the wonderfully talented Sarah Sherman got the big shiny profile from Vanity Fair. I’m gonna save most of it for Saturday because Saturday is the SNL finale. But the part that’s making headlines is Sarah reflecting on that whole Amy lou Wood thing. Amy didn’t like Sarah’s performance on SNL, Sherman told Vanity Fair was excited a play her because she’s so iconic, Her character’s so iconic, and I obviously never meant to hurt anyone’s feelings. I’m not sure Amy lou Wood is iconic.

I want to get into beef here with Amy lou Wood. No offense, Amy, but you’re not quite tailor swift yet anyway. Sherman says, never in a million years did I get into comedy to make anyone upset. I feel terrible that anyone would feel bad. Good question by Vanity Fair.

You play many more real people on the show than you used to. Is upsetting people, as you put it, something you have to consider more now, Sherman said, totally. The show’s in constant dialogue with culture as it’s happening, and it happens really fast. Long pause. You have to be vigilant, you know what I mean?

There are a lot of things out of your control. You’re playing a lot of different parts, you’re doing a lot of different roles, You’re not in control of a lot of the process of the show has been to me. How am I answering this another pause? Staying vigilant, but also being part of the show. That’s your job, being in conversation with everything popular culture.

There’s so uch a danger there. Sometimes you don’t realize how it comes across, but you’re put in a position to be engaging with it all the time because you’re part of a show that’s constantly interacting with culture and popular politics and popular whatever. And as I get thrown more and more into the show, just this other thing that I have to learn about A great interview. I’ve shared it in the Facebook group, which is Daily Comedy News podcast group. I took the dog for a long walk and I listened to Bill Mooher and Tony Hinchcliff.

I had talked about that one on yesterday’s podcast Very Good Listen. They talked a lot about politics, but it was a smart discussion. Really enjoyed it. Tony explained the whole garbage joke. Very Good Listen Club Random and I find if you woke me up at three in the morning and said, hey, are you a Bill Mohr fan, I’d probably a three oh one be like, no, no, I don’t think so.

I don’t hate the guy, but I’m not a fan. And yet more often than not, I find the interviews on that podcast to be very, very compelling. So check out Tony hinchcliff on Bill Moore. It’s being a podcast. I forgot to do this story last week, so let me get this one in.

Did you see the Golden Globes added a new award. It’s going to be for Best Podcast, but Krescher commented, We’re Dina and now this will work. The Golden Globes says the category will honor cultural and creative impact. Krayscher asked, if it’s just about popularity, what’s the point Just hand it to Rogan every year, and I think he deserves it, But if you really value substance and message, then it should be voted on. That’s what makes it interesting.

If Krayscher had his way, he’d present the Best Podcast award exactly how podcasting roasted power. I’d do it over zoom three squares on screen one for the Globes one for the audience and one for me, and I’d open with an ad read. I’d be like, this category is brought to you by Better Help. So this got me thinking, if we can somehow we’re asking a lot, but if we can somehow get this podcast to be nominated for Best Podcast, and we can somehow get Joe Coy another opportunity to host the Golden Globes, then I could sit there and make a face, and then we could bring the whole bit full circle. I don’t think any of that’s gonna happen, but the boy can wish.

On Gossip Corner, Customers in a London bakery were left stunned when a top comedian was spotted working there. Ramesh Ragon Nathan was at Coglin’s Bakery. He was wearing a baseball cap and hoodie and he blended in with the crowd. He was seen selling delicious baked goods. Why you ask, he actually co owns part of the franchise.

And if you were hoping to see British stand up comedian Stuart Lee come to the US, he’s not coming anytime soon. He has joined the list of comedians who are afraid that they’ll come here. And get deported or something. Stuart Lee told Channel four News, I wouldn’t work in the States at the moment. I’d worry about them going through my jokes and ending up spending two days locked up without my heart medication.

I just worry about it, he said. He recently turned down and offered to perform his new show, which is titled Stuart Lee Versus the Man Wolf, for a week at a venue in Chicago. At the moment, I’d have to take a huge set of American cityscape in two full sized werewolf costumes. I’d have to get those through American customs at the moment. He then had some thoughts on current notable American politicians, and that’s not why we’re here.

So if you’re curious, you can google Stuart Lee, but I’m sure you can figure out what his opinions are. And that is your comedy news for today. I will see you tomorrow.
