Caloroga Shark Media. Good one today. Hi, I’m Johnny Mac with your Daily Comedy News. Four or five stories, any one of which could have been the lead today. Let’s start with John Mulaney.

GQ did a major profile of John Ada is fantastic. I have shared it in the Facebook group which is Daily Comedy News podcast group. You might want to drop your browser into reader mode. Nudge, nudge, wink wink, say no more. Several sections of the article discuss Mullanie’s appearance, his suit wearing, and what goes into that.

One thing that spoke to me was they kept bringing back Mullanie’s appearance, how he turned to suits, etc. And I like this section. They’re right. Take away the suit, the haircut and all the other affects of a former altar boy, and perhaps more people would have noticed that Mullanie’s act was as drug soaked as a nineteen seventy Stone record. The very first track of his first comedy album was titled Blocking Out and Making Money.

Surely there was kind of a willful blindness at work. Mulaney says, I very much tried to tell everyone, GQ writes, But wasn’t he also trying to hide his darker tendencies. Didn’t he make a habit of telling us exactly how harmless he was, just in case our first impressions weren’t convincing enough. From the Comeback Kid album I’m So Open and Vulnerable, I look like a doll that you point out molestation on. On the New and Toown album, I look like I was just sitting in a room in a cheer eating saltines for like twenty eight years, Melini says, what I said is I look harmless.

Jim Gaffigan was at Stand Up for Heroes on Monday Night. The Hollywood Reporter asked him about his time on Saturday Night Live, which I don’t know, if you know it’s turning fifteen, we’re going to talk about it every day. Gaffigan said it wasn’t the expectation that May and I were going to continue on the entire time. He said he had to cancel some tour dates to make the weekly appearances work. He had also mentioned that on the David Spade podcast talk about in a second, it was such a cool thing.

So I don’t necessarily feel bad. I feel more gratitude that I had the opportunity to like swim in that pool with all those talented people. You can’t consider modern American comedy and not include SNL in the discourse. And it’s such a unique show the way it’s produced. So there’s something really fun but also ad inspiring about it.

As I mentioned, gaffigin is on the David Spade Dana Carvey podcast. If you find that episode seriously, he’s not on to like forty five minutes in. I know that show is super popular, and boy they’re making some money based on the amount of commercials I heard, but I don’t know that show’s a little misproduced. They get awesome guests because of who the hosts are, but in terms of what they handed every week gets misproduced. When you finally get to the Gaffigan part, Gaffigan said, Dana, were you secretly hoping like I was, like, oh, hopefully Tim Wallas would do something like to get some news.

I don’t want him to humiliate himself. He’ll, you know, be in some sketches, but they’re competing for attention, and I think at a different time him even playing Fortnite with AOC that would be newsworthy. But we live in such chaotic times. Chloe Feinneman making some news. She dropped a TikTok on Monday where she identified Elon Musk as the man who made her cry when Elon hosted SNL back in twenty twenty one.

The Hollywood Reporter saw the TikTok before Finneman deleted it. According to the reports, Fineman said, you know what, I’m gonna come out and say it long last that I’m the cast member that he made cry, and he’s the host that made someone cry. If you’re gonna go on your platform and be rude, guess what you made I Chloe Feyneman burst into tears because I stayed up late writing a sketch. I was so excited. I came in.

I asked you if you had any questions, and you stared at me like you were firing me from Tesla and were like, it’s not funny. According to Fineman, Musk went through her script line by line and told her he didn’t laugh once. The sketch in question was the Icelandic talk show parody the ULI show that did actually air. Fyneman said, I actually had a really good time and I thought you were really funny in it, But you know, have a little manners here, sir. I suspect that might bubble up a little more in the next day or so.

Another thing that could have been a big story. Tony Hinchcliff clips now circulating of his kill Tony set. This is a little lengthy, but I will let it play, as we’ve all wanted to hear what Tony Hinchcliff thought about his very controversial set. If you don’t want to hear Tony hit skip, I don’t know five times because this is probably a minute and a half two minutes here, but I’ll let it run. I have clipped out two F bombs.

Other than that, here are the words of Tony Hinchcliff. Ladies and gentlemen. Last night, I gave a speech. I don’t know if you’ve heard about this. It was a speech about free speech, believe it or not, and I’m currently under attack.

I’m the news. I don’t know if you guys know this, but on my speech on free speech, I referenced Puerto Rico, which currently has a landfill problem in which all of their landfills are filled to the brim. I guess I’m the only person that knew about this. Unfortunately, and with that said, I just want to say that I’ve been I love Puerto Ricans. They’re very smart people.

They’re smart, they’re streets smart, and they’re smart enough to know when they’re being used as political fodder. And right now that is happening. And I apologize to absolutely nobody, not to the Puerto Ricans, not to the whites, not to the blacks, not to the Palestinians, not to the Jews, and not to my own mother, who I made fun of during the set. Nobody clipped that no headlines about me making fun of my own mother. Perhaps that venue at that time wasn’t the best place to do this set at.

But in any matter, to the mainstream media and to everybody trying to slander me online, that’s what I do. I go hard and that’s never going to change. Adrian Appaluci quietly dropped a Netflix special yesterday, directed by Louis c. K He’s not Canceled and produced by Ari Shafir. The Dark Queen is on Netflix.

Apple Ucci takes aim at our public figures, awkward tribute tattoos, virtual signaling, and more. Joe Mandy, fresh off winning an Emmy for writing on Hacks, is getting his own comedy special on Hulu. This is separate from the Huilarious thing. I haven’t dug deep here, but I know they did a deal with Comedy Dynamics, so I’m guessing it’s one of those. So this isn’t one of the big twelve eleven of which have been announced.

This is extra Hulu comedy. Hulu publicist, get back to me, man, I’m trying reached out to a bunch of you on LinkedIn. What did I do wrong? I’m nice. Joe Mandy special is called Chili.

It’ll be out December thirteenth on Hulu. Joe has another special called a Joe Mandy’s Award winning Comedy Special that was on Netflix in twenty seventeen. Rob Schneider is apparently frustrated by Arizona election results Timeline. Rob Schneider tweeted on November fourth, Dear Assistant County Manager Zach Sira, as a resident of the great state of Arizona, and more importantly, a United States citizen, now we go in caps here. Waiting days for the results of the election in Maricopa County is unacceptable.

He then switched back and forth between regular capitalization and caps. I will emphasize the caps parts with my voice. We are not some banana republic. We are the United States of America. I will do everything in my power to have election officials this next election cycle that can count all ballots by the end of the same day of voting.

And here’s the news item. Even if I have to run and become governor myself, oh please run for governor of Arizona. I have a podcast to do every day. I have two podcasts to do every day, the other one being the ballot podcast. Rob Schneider, Please, yes, you should run.

I agree. This is totally unacceptable. It’s going on in Arizona. And Rob Schneider for governor is the solution.

Meanwhile, a Samberg told a story about Amy Adams refusing to do a sketch mac…

Andy Samberg says, I’m not going to go in a great deal about it, but it was a song that would have been a duet with me and Amy Adams that it was very dirty. It was basically like we were both really old and we were having a picnic old people couple and one of us get stung by a scorpion. Then I’m dying or something, and the one lamentum my deathbed is that we didn’t explore things more sexually in our life, and it’s this huge anthem about that. Samberg continues and says, Amy was like, that’s really funny. I can’t do that.

Little girls are so obsessed with enchanted right now. They’ll find this and it’ll be scoring for them. I just can’t mix that right now. They instead got Amy Adams on Hero Song, which is a digital short about a superhero who beats the hell out of a criminal. Samberg says, within five minutes, a mother and a little girl walked up, and the look on the little girl’s face upon seeing Amy Adams, I was like, Oh, she was so right, and it was very instructive for me.

It’s not something I even thought about in our line of work, you know what I mean, Like, she actually has an obligation and a responsibility to those kids, and she took it really seriously, and I remember being really impressed by that. I know you guys were like, hey, what should we get Johnny Mac for Christmas? Well, Adam Sandler’s Love You is now out on CD. Who this the audio version of that most recent special, which, hey, let me be fair, I actually liked. I’m openly not a fan of most Adam Sandler projects, although you know, lately last half decade, I’ve kind of liked four out of five.

I’m warming up to the Sandman, although most of his work is garbage, well discussed on this podcast. Go back. If you’re on an app, to type the word Sandler into your search engine and several episodes will come up. So I won’t go there today anyway. Adam Sandler, love you out on CD.

Oh, I don’t have a CD player. Let’s see what’s happening at the New York Comedy Festival. I won’t read all the shows. I’ll just do the names, you know. One of the shows, Still Screaming, celebrating the career and comedy of Gilbert Godfreed.

This at the venue at hard Rock at seven o’clock. The New York Comedy Festival says, join us for an unforgettable night of love and laughter as we honor the comedic genius of Gilbert Godfrey to the release of his long awaited vinyl album Still Screaming. The one of a kind event will feature never before seen outtakes from the award winning documentary Gilbert, followed by an entertaining panel discussion with moderator Frank Santo Padre. You know him as the co host of Gilbert’s Awesome Podcast, Guest Dana Godfried and filmmaker Neil Berkeley.

Also appearing David Tell, Susie Sman, and Judy Gold, Richard Kind and more.

Also a Q and A Session, a funny titled show at the Bellhouse at seven point thirty. Don’t stop. I’m about to jazz comedians perform their sets with live piano accompaniment, and a bunch of other shows with people who aren’t as famous as Gilbert Godfried. I’m looking at to tomorrow. Starts to get a little more famous starting tomorrow, as I continue to say, love the festival, great job.

New York City’s too big. It just doesn’t resonate. I prep the show every day and I’m typing New York Comedy Festival into Google and nothing comes up. It’s the City’s too big. Susie as he is Are, spoke to The Statesman about her current tour, the Remix Tour.

She’s taking some of her most popular routines and remixing them by finding angles. Gizard says, I do try to entertain myself so I keep it fresh and bubbly and moving things around. I hope audience members can go away with the idea that their mind was rested from everyday troubles and maybe they’ve learned a bit of history, a bit of this, a bit of that, and a bit of weird stuff about Henry the eighth. And that’s your comedy news for today. Don’t forget.

I also host five and good News Stories on Monday, Wednesday, Friday. Check that one out. If you like this program commercial free. If you’re on Apple podcast click the banner or avail yourself with a thirty day free trial. Why wouldn’t you.

If you’re not on Apple podcasts, check the show notes. We’ll tell you how to get the show on other platforms. Meet you tomorrow.

Caloroga Shark Media. He and Aaron Chunning Mack with your Daily Comedy News. Jim Gaffigan has released the trailer for his upcoming hilarious special, Hey, publicists, get back to me. It’s called The Skinny. It’ll be out on Hulu November twenty second.

Taped earlier this year at the Wilburth Theater in Boston, Great Venue, Jim offers The Skinny on everything from appetites of presints to raising teenagers. We’ll take a listen to the trailer. I like that Hulu released a longer than usual trailer. This one’s like a minute and a half, so we’ll listen to it. My take on it, and I want to share my take before you listen to it.

I think the material is really funny, but hear me out. I’ve got ears with a capital E. I notice things. A few of these jokes get the dreaded clapter, and I think the material deserves a lot better than the clapter it gets. And pay a lot of attention to the final joke.

The crowd noise doesn’t sound natural to me. I get it’s a trailer, but I think they added in some laughter there at the end. But hear me out though, like, I’m not here to say, oh, Jim Gaffkin sucks. I think the material here is excellence. I’m just critiquing the art of the trailer.

Let’s listen. I don’t know if you know. I’m normally a fat guy, but since I’ve lost all this weight, now I’m just arrogant. People. They won’t even say anything to me.

Y’ll just go to my wife and ask is Jim okay? Because to them it’s more likely that I’m sick than I would ever have any self discipline. I know I complain a lot about my family, but they’ve ruined my life. You ever noticed in commercials for alcohol, people are always laughing and having a good time. I’d just like to see one print ad that shows some expressionless dads sitting alone at a kitchen table with a bottle of booze.

My wife was like, don’t gaslight me, and I was like, I’ve never heard that term before. She was like, you’ve never heard of gas lighting? And I was like, I don’t think anyone on this planet has heard of gas lighting. You might be going crazy. And I really had met my wife has it harder, much harder, But this whole thing is kind of her fault.

These children didn’t come out of my body in a way, they’re not even my kids. The Skinny on Hulu November twenty second, looking forward to that, Tony Hinchcliff has resurfaced. I guess the coast is clear Tony. On social media, Tony re shared an Axios article which revealed that Trump was backed by forty six percent of Latino voters. Hinchcliff also jumped on Instagram Sunday and shared the date of the next White House Correspondence dinner.

Boy, imagine if they let Tony Hinchcliffe host that thing On threads. I’ve been hanging out on threads more. The Comedy congresss get a lot more interaction than Twitter ever did. And over there, I’m actually at Daily Comedy News. John Marcos Rasi tweeted or no, threaded, that’s gonna take him a minute threaded.

I’m the opposite of Joe Rogan because I’m pro vaccine. I voted for Kamala and nobody listens to my podcast. Nathan McIntosh said, I like stand up. When I was a kid, I thought it was cool, but then I heard George Carlin in an interview, talking about how expensive his watch was before reading a DraftKings Ad and I went, WHOA, that’s awesome. Bernie Sanders has criticized Democrats for their attitude towards Rogan and other podcast Sanders was on CNN.

He was asked by Dana Bash about the blowback Bernie received years ago when he went on Rogan. Bernie said, yeah, I think that’s fair enough. Look, you’re gonna have an argument with Rogan, agree with him, disagree with him. But what’s the problem with going on those shows? It’s hard for me to understand that Verdaz has started up on social media.

He shared a clip from his Mindful World Tour show on Twitter. In the video, we hear Verdaz say congratulations, America, you are great again. It’s probably wisest for me if I let Verdas’s words speak for themselves. I’ll play them here. I have edited the clip for language, and Veer or his team have edited the clip.

I see some video jumps as I play it on X Before I play it, though, I also want to call your attention to here’s what a crowd normally sounds like, because I keep bringing up and I brought it up earlier with the Gaffigan trailer that sometimes on these comedy specials, my ears go, that doesn’t sound natural. Listen to this clip. This is a natural sounding crowd, and you don’t always get that in the comedy specials. Anyway, here’s Verdas. Hey congracts America.

You are great again. Donald J. Trump is going to be your president for the next four to twenty five years. Yeah sure, yeah, yeah, absolutely grand. At least now the mosque is off.

You know what kind of country you are, You know what kind of messaging it is. Because your messaging was a little outdated. It was like America, Land of the Three. And we were like, yeah, outdated America, yes we can yeah, outdated. But now you know, it’s like America.

They’re eating the dogs. This is you. Now. He was always gonna win. He’s too entertaining.

You have an addition to entertainment in this country, right Your president has to be entertaining. And I don’t know another seventy eight year old white man who is more entertaining than any. On last week tonight, John Oliver said on Tuesday, Trump won reelection, which is to put it mildly and not what I was personally hoping would happen, and honestly, in Trump’s victory speech, she couldn’t seem to believe it either. Oliver then played a clip from that speech where Trump said, we overcame obstacles that nobody thought possible and is now clear that we’ve achieved the most incredible political thing, adding, look what happened? Is this crazy?

Oliver said, yeah, it is crazy. It’s really crazy. He’s basically one sentence away from saying, I mean, you guys saw what I did right, and you’re still voted for this. That doesn’t make any sense. If you need more political humor, check out the Ballot Podcast wherever you get your shows.

Switching topics, the series Black Comedy in America is back tonight at ten pm Eastern and Pacific on Vice. The Hollywood Reporter spoke with Chris Spencer and Dion Cole. Chris Spencer said it’s great watching co host Ryan because some of the stuff we assume everyone knows, he doesn’t know. He was like, I didn’t know about Eddie murphynsil nineteen ninety eight. I didn’t want watch Richard Pryor until twenty thirteen.

He’s young, twenty seven or twenty eight, so hearing his frame of reference and watching us grow up and the things that were immediate to us are still above him. Dean Cole said, black comedy is truth, pure, raw, uncut truth. Ain’t no bouncing around it, and ain’t no metaphors, ain’t no puns, ain’t none of that. It’s just straight truth. Spencer said, I agree, and I have an example of the straight truth, especially with black audiences and stand up.

We don’t care who you are. If you don’t bring it, then we’re gonna let you hear it. When audiences go, well, it must be professional. He’s on stage. I paid my money.

Let’s give him a chance. We don’t care who you are. Eddie Richard Dave Cole said, it’s not just the comedian the truthful, it’s the audience too. It’s the whole experience. It’s not an untruthful audience when it comes to black comedy.

They’re gonna let you know. I don’t care who you are. To Chris’s point, I’ve seen some of the hottest of the hottest go on stage and the audience will give you a graceful five minutes because of who you are.

And then after that, Spencer said, no, sugar coating black comedy in America …

I don’t know if you know this Saturday Night liveter. It’s fifty this year, and we’re going to talk about it every single day. Entertainment Weekly caught up with Dana Corvey, who I don’t understand why he was on SNL this week. Please let the current cast do their thing. Nothing against Dana Carvey.

Dana, bring back the Dana Carvey Show with your original cast. I’ll watch the heck out of that, but it’s not your time on SNL. Let someone else have a chance. Dana spoke about meeting Kamala Harris. He was walking down the hallway.

He was still dressed as Biden. Kamala staff said, Hey, so I had about a minute face to face with her, and I just did all my Biden hooks. She laughed so hard she was bent over laughing. Carvey was intrigued by her approval, saying that was kind of interesting. I guess she sees this from all different points of view, but it seemed cathartic or something.

I don’t know. People seem to like it. He was also impressed by the secret Service. They seem to be six foot five, they had helmets, they had flack jackets, big boots, night vision goggles, and then this assault rifle or machine gun or whatever it was. And you know, I’m dressed as a tomato and I’m like I fellas from the Moscow Times, your home for comedy news, a new Russian series titled Goodbye has hit the screens.

Goodbye is the story of a character representing Joe Biden, who, by twist of fate, finds himself lost in Russia, stumbling through absurd, almost slapstick situations. The Moscow Time says the ambitions were lofty to present the leader of a global superpower of fumbling through unfamiliar situations in a foreign land. However, the series ends up being nothing but a loose chain of jokes, desperately chasing cheap lass while losing any depth in the process. Biden here is not portrayed as a political figure, but as a characature bumpling, tongue tiede and seemingly devoid of any control over surroundings. Is that any different than what we do here in the States.

The folks at the Moscow Times might not Joy’s Saturday Night Live. They call it Goodbye is less a comedic triumph than a farewell to quality SATs Hire on Russian television.

All right, let’s see what’s at the New York Comedy Festival tonight.

I’m laughing here as I’m recording on Monday. Somebody needs to update the website because the banner says the laughter starts in minus five days, unless that’s supposed to be a joke, but I don’t think it is. Let’s see some folks you may have heard of. Seven thirty at Rodney’s Comedy Club, the No Apologies Comedy Tour with Tom Cotter, Tammy Pascatelli and Jim Florentine. Seven thirty Union Hall, Pretty major, hosted by Jay Jorden and Zach Zimmerman.

That’s a good show. That’s a good lineup. Kay. Trevor Wilson is at Chelsea Music Hall at eight thirty. I saw him at the Toronto Comedy Festival.

It’s over a decade ago. Now I’m getting old, but he was really good. And not too many other big names tonight. It is a Tuesday night and it’ll pick up as the week goes on. Some other things I want to talk about, having nothing to do with comedy watch a lot of TV recently.

Disclaimer on Apple I won’t spoil it at all. Just trust me, you go for the ride. This is not a spoiler. Three episodes in and went, oh, that’s Sasha Baron Cohen. I didn’t even notice it was him.

The plot is really good. Of that Penguin. Did you watch Penguin? Penguin finished on Sunday Night, very strong, no spoilers. Penguin is absolutely worth watching it.

I have described it to people as Gotham City Sopranos. There’s nothing Batman about it. It’s really good. Yellowstone, Yellowstone is back. I won’t say a word about Yellowstone.

If you watched Yellowstone, you know why you would be curious about the return of Yellowstone. If you want to talk about Yellowstone, hit me up on social media. And the trailer for a Gladiator too. I recently watched the First Gladiator, which is a fantastic movie, so I’m looking at this one going all right, Gladiator denzil, Yeah, this should be pretty good. The CGI looks like it got worse.

There’s like monkeys and a rhino or something, a hippo. I don’t know what it is. I guess it’s a rhino in the trailer, and it all just looks fake. It looks better twenty five years ago. Sometimes cgi too much.

Anyway. That is your comedy news for today. Don’t forget. I host the show Five Good News Stories Monday, Wednesday, Friday. This time of year, I’m doing Christmas episodes on Saturday.

Five stories, all of them good news number five Good news Stories. Wherever you get your shows, meet you back here tomorrow.

Caloroga Shark Media. Ma’am Saturday Night Live, Man, I don’t know what to say. Hello, I’m Johnny Mac with your Daily Comedy News. Maybe the correct move was Dave Chappelle’s soul searching for seventeen minutes while telling the occasional joke Bill Burr ate it. That monologue not funny at all.

I was on threads and I said, it’s one of those nights you can tell by eleven forty seven BM, this episode ain’t happening. Thread user MXM eighty wrote, I wonder if Bill Burr could actually hear the sound of everyone changing the channel simultaneously. And I was taken aback by the opening bit. In case you missed it, the joke was, hey, we never made fun of Trump, but we always supported him all along, which is a great joke. And I say that because we’ve been doing that joke on the Ballot podcast for a full week.

The episodes are there, hit play on any of them. Are USNL writers Fans of the Ballot podcast leave us five star reviews on Apple Podcasts. Then I imagine it’s just a case of parallel thinking. But Ballot is me and an AI and you’re an entire writer’s room, and we’re coming up with the same bit. And I actually think my version was funnier.

Wow, what a swing and a miss. By Saturday Night Live, the opening began with cast members solemnly discussing how Trump had won. They added how Trump might seek vengeance against his opponents. Keena Thompson then says, we had SNL would like to say to Donald Trump, We’ve been with you all along, which is the exact joke we’ve been doing on ballot all week. Go listen to it.

They’re there, bohen Yang. We’ve never waived in our support of you, even when others doubted you. Colin Jos did score with I hate how the lamestrein media, Michael Jay has to spin it to make you look foolish. Dana Corvey came out and did Elon Musk. Why is Dana Carvey still there?

I’ll give you the okay, it’s the election. We’re calling out the big guns. So why is Danny Carvey there? Someone on the cast can do Elon Musk? Why is Carvy there?

You had your minute. Let the current cast do the thing. Bill Burr’s monologue, Ladies, enough with the suits, it’s not working good joke. Sometimes you have to have respect for yourselves. You don’t win the office, like on Posse, you gotta hoar it up a little.

I’m not saying go full Hooters, but find a happy medium between Applebee’s and your dad didn’t stick around. I know ugly women feminists don’t want to hear this message, but just tease them a little bit. Make a farmer feel like it’s got a shot that got scattered. Applause. And if you watched the band and a good Bellwether, and there are articles about this.

The nice lady who plays guitar, who’s pretty much center screen, she’s slightly to the right of center as you watch on your TV, she was stonefaced. Somebody on thread said she had heard the jokes already in rehearsal, and I wrote back, well, they hear the jokes in rehearsal every week, and some weeks they have big smiles. The band was stonefaced as Bill Burr bombed. The Grammys have announced the nominees for Best Comedy Album. Longtime listeners know this rant I will do it quickly this year.

My personal wish would be for the Best Comedy Album to go to something that is an album. You know what an album is, right, An album is not a Netflix special. Netflix specials are great. Netflix specials should win. I would like the Grammy to support Audio rant Over.

I’ve done it every year. Go back and listen to last year. The nominees are Netflix Special, Trevor Noah, Where was I? Netflix Special? Dave Chappelle, The Dreamer, HBO Special, Nicky Glazer Someday You’ll Die.

I don’t know that one’s nominated at all. That was not good Netflix Special, Ricky Gervais Armageddon, and my personal choice for the Best Comedy Album of the Year, Jim Gaffigan The Prisoner, which is quote an old school album release featuring material all new and never released and there’s no video. It’s an album album. So I am big time in Jim Gaffigan’s court. Someone pointed out there are five nominees and two of the five aka forty percent are comedians who are allegedly canceled.

Well, that’s interesting. The Hollywood Reporter listened to Joe Rogan’s episode with Tim Dillon and picked up on Tim Dillon saying that Joker iiO was the worst film ever made. Dylan’s been making that joke in his own podcast for several weeks now. Tim Dilon appears in Joker Too as an Arkham Asylum guard. Dylan told Rogan, I think what happened after the first Joker.

There’s a lot of talk like, ooh, this was loved by in cells, This was loved by the wrong kinds of people. This sent the wrong kind of message, male rage, nihilism, all these think pieces.

And then I think, what if we went the other way?

And now they have Jaki in Phoenix and Lady Gaga tap dancing to a point where it’s insane. From the Press Herald, David Kross told the audience on Friday night he was unsure about what was going to happen. Since it was his first show after the election, he had to reconfigure his set. He opened with some jokes about Trump being a protector of women and closed with a quote more somber reflection on the implications of a potential nationwide abortion band. The Press Herald recaps, lest the mood ever gets too bleak, self pitying or pessimistic, he took left turns in a shocking, gross out imagery or just plain wrong gags.

Ironically, the kind of jokes the conservatives say you can’t do anymore. Other topics anecdotes such as a vacation to Machu Picchu, an unexpectedly erotic massage at a Chinese parlor, and the discarded household goods in a free box on the sidewalk. With the disarming, matter of fact voice of a high school guidance counselor David Cross, stretch mondane observations into absurdist territory and reshaped surreal flights of fantasy into everyday language. I like David Cross a lot. CBS Chicago reported that protesters gathered outside the VIC Theater in Lakeview Friday night as Michael Rappaport took the stage.

CBS reports advocates for the Palestinian Cause of called Michael Rappaport a racist Zionist, pointing to jokes and comments he’s made on stage and social media. Rapaport told NBC Chicago, I’m not accepting. I am not down with. I don’t prohibit nor will I step backward with regard to me being canceled for being Jewish, or anyone else being canceled for being Jewish or any other reason. The Guardian caught up with some comedians the topic what do we do now?

The Trump one Chicago born, London based stand up Sarah Barons and Trump is so ridiculous that he makes the comic extrapolation harder. UK based stand up Jeanine Harouney says it’s a gift for com because people are feeling terrible and they want to laugh. She has a show focused on the distance between her left leaning self and her Trump supporting father, and says, I wrote that show because I love my dad and cannot reconcile his political beliefs with how I feel about him personally. My father’s also an Arab son of immigrants, so I was really struggling with that. I wanted it to feel healing and hopeful.

Lewis McLeod is the voice of Trump on Dead Bringers and says it becomes its own protests, but it’s done with laughs. He perfected his Trump impression by listening to recent Rogan interviews. Listening to him on Joe Rogan was a gift or any mimic. It was uninterrupted. He wasn’t arguing.

He’s a little bit older, more reflective. There’s this messianic tone. There’s something of a mad maniacal Robot about him. McLeod says there’s a danger of creating satirical impressions that are too likable. That’s the rub of satsire and mimicry.

Haroney said, not everyone who voted for Trump holds his worst beliefs. I like comedy that unites people from different systems of belief I hope people strive for that rather than continue to feed into the divisive narrative that’s driving Americans further apart. I had my say on this on Saturday, and that’s how I feel. Let’s make fun of both sides and all sides. Let’s see what’s happening at the New York Comedy Festival.

A friend of the show, Jason Zinhim in The New York Times, says we should go see Jay Jorden at the Gramercy Theater. Jay is one of the most reliable killers working the New York comedy circuit. When he pops up on a bill, the audience tends to light up and the other comics risk losing focus. I’ve seen him steal shows with short sets. He’s yet to find his breakout project, but it seems like only a matter of time.

Mondays are often light at comedy festivals. But there’s a robust amount of shows tonight. I won’t read them all to you. Let’s just skim through here. Palatable gay robot is at the Asylum at seven o’clock.

Let’s see what this is. Whatever it is, it short does a load fast. Finally, here we go meet Huma ViBe’s latest device, Billy Bowtie Program. To be the perfect performer, Billy must entertain the audience while remaining palatable. But when his material grows rusty, Billy downloads a personal history that leads to some unsettling questions.

Which parts of ourselves are we willing to hide? How gay is too gay? And is San Diego style hip hop really a thing? Gabe Gibbs Silly Song, Sad Songs at Chelsea’s seven o’clock, the afore mentioned Jay Jerd, I Grammar Seed it’s seven point thirty. Oh yeah, stand up for euros.

So that’s kind of a big one tonight. Jim Gaffigan, Nora Jones, Mark Norman, DJ Questlove, Patti Scalfa, Jerry Seinfeld, Bruce Springsteen, John Stewart, Patty Is Missus Bruce Springsteen. In case you don’t know the name, obviously, that’s the big show tonight.

Also at eight o’clock, Tiny Cupboard, Kate will A does an hour as part of New…

Love the title The Gutter has at eight o’clock the Monday Show. I also love the title What’s This? Ten point fifteen At New York Comedy Club, Steve Martin presents I Haven’t heard a thing about this? Ah the description you got Me? The description is okay.

Steve Martin doesn’t present, but SNL cast member Andrewdismuke’s and SNL viewer Michael good Do join Andrew, Michael, and a few of their hilarious friends. You got Me? Are you allowed to do that? Like? Could I just call this podcast the Dave Chappelle Podcast?

I guess I could. That’s your comedy news for today. If you enjoy the pro tell a friend about it. They might like it too. If you were new, I do this seven days a week.

Caloroga Shark Media. Hi, anyone’s still here After yesterday’s show, I’m Johnny Mac with your Daily Comedy News. I will discuss Saturday Night Live tomorrow. Original LESSONL cast member Garrett Morris is not a fan of the show’s current season. He told The Guardian, I don’t see the courage, the experimental impulses.

To be fair to Garrett, he said this before last night’s episode. Who knows what happened on last night’s episode, Well, you do, but I don’t. As I record this, mor said, I don’t see the courage, the experimental impulses. That was the whole core of what happened in the first ten years. Interesting, he says ten, not five, because the second five included the Lorne Michael less years, which were a disaster till Letty Murphy showed up.

That was the whole core of what happened the first ten years. I keep expecting it to attack in a funny way and bring out the foibles not only of individuals but of the government and all that. Nowadays, although people still check it out, I think they’re catering to too many people too much of the time. Sounds like Garrett might have liked my commentary yesterday, Morris said, I will say, to the end of my days, Lauren’s writers had a lot of racism going on. Lauren himself zero racism because remember when I was hired, I was the only black writer.

Laurene wanted to have somebody black on TV at nighttime. People didn’t want that. They were clamoring to make it all white. He didn’t. Some jokes from Late Night Stephen Colbert said, so after years of investigation into Trump’s many crimes, including trying to overthrow the US government, everything’s just totally cool.

Reminds me of that classic song I fought the law and what I won? How’s that even possible? That’s a good joke, Ronny Chieng with a strong one. Apparently you can get away with your crimes if you win the presidency. And that sound you just heard is Diddy forming an exploratory committee for twenty twenty eight.

But my favorite is from Seth Myers, who said, you think Kamala Harris was too far left she was campaigning with Liz Cheney. The only way she could have run a more mainstream centrist campaign is that she would have formed a Huey Lewis cover band with Mitt Romney and did a cameo on Lawn Order. Bill Maher will have a new special for HBO. It is called is anyone else Seeing this? It’ll be out in January.

It’s Bill Maher’s thirteenth stand up hour for the network. Yeah. Mar will tape the special in front of a live audience. I love that in front of a live audience, not just an audience, a live audience at the CIBC Theater in Chicago. In a statement, Bill Moore said, I almost called this special you won’t feel safe, because if you’re purely a team player in American politics, you won’t.

This one is for the eighty percent of Americans who want to see crazy called out, no matter where it comes from. And the last twenty minutes on my sex life, that’s for everybody. Zarna garg is part of Hularius. Not that the publicists will get back to me. Zarna Gargan a statement said, I’m beyond excited to join the Hulu family and bring families together for my comedy special.

Just make sure they get back to their math homework afterward. Hularius kicks off November twenty second with Zorona Guard, Bill Burr, Christa Stefano, Jim Gaffigan, Alana Glazer, Jessica Curson, Mitseo Laine, Sebastian Menis, galco otsco At Cotska, Andrew Santino and Roy Wood Junior. That is a good line of pro up to twelve now because they were gonna do one a month. Let’s see Zarna Bird three, War of Isa six, seven, eight, nine, ten eleven. One to be revealed unless I miscounted.

Let me know. Jannis Pappas and Christa Stefano used to have a podcast called History Hyenas. It’s back baby, Oh Eric is my voice? You’re right back? Wow, buy me a coffee.

Dot com slash Daily Comedy News. According to Andrew Schultz, he invited Kamala Harris on and she didn’t do his podcast either, and the other one being Rogan Schultz said, H’m smugly satisfied. This is what you all get. Y’all didn’t want to come on Flagrant. You know, they told us it was too big of a risk for Comma to come on.

Okay, you believe being loser, you know what’s kind of a risk not doing any big podcasts. The purpose of Flagrant was to build a community and a connection with the audience. I think that her fatal flaw not going to these podcast is that people weren’t able to make that connection, just as people come to shows because they build that connection with us. They came out to vote because Trump made that connection. When I said legacy media is done, I mean they can still set a narrative if people still watch it.

Giannis and to Stefano co hosted their hit comedy podcast History Hyenas from twenty eighteen to twenty twenty one. On History Hyenas, the two comedians go wild for history and nature and tech and all things historical and natural in a way you never thought was possible. Well, all of a sudden, they’re back. The new episode covered the history of October surprises. Here’s a surprise.

I misbalanced the script today. I’m one story short. I need to do one more more. All right, let me pull up something from Monday script. Ricky Lindholm.

You know her from Garfunkel and Oates. She announced her new comedy album, No Worries If Not, and it comes out March fourteenth. Now, on the one hand, I want to go announce that kind of early didn’t you. On the other hand, I’m the guy that already asked Nate Pergatzy’s publicist could he come on my show six months from now. The album explores themes of family, aging, motherhood and more, all with Lindholm’s trademark wit and dark humor.

Ricky says, I’m so excited released my first solo album, No Worries if not. With this album, I wanted to bring humor to some of the more personally historically isolating experiences that women face, including infertility, aging in motherhood. I hope people will find not just laughter but a sense of solidarity through these songs, which aims to distill complex topics in a light hearted and honest way. Making this album felt scary and vulnerable, but also like a natural creative evolution for me, and I can’t wait to share with everyone in six months. It is the last day of the three one two Comedy Festival.

Giggley Squad at five and eight pm at the Chicago Theater. You know Hannah Berner married to my new bestie Des Bishop, Steve O’s at the Riviera at seven, Josh Wolf He’s Fantastic at Park West at seven, and skin Bone at Zani’s Downtown at seven. I’m not familiar with skin Bone. Skin Bone is influenced by legends such as Richard Pryor, Jim Carrey, Tyler Perry, Kevin Hart, and Bernie Mack. Skin Bone aspires to follow in their footsteps, blending comedy and influence to leave an indelible mark on the world.

Apparently, he had a successful viral video called I’m from the Trenches.

Meanwhile, the New York Comedy Festival continues.

I left you with a cliffhanger yesterday where I was about to click on the Mister Rogers Variety Hour, which is the Brooklyn Art House at two pm. Let’s see what that actually is because I don’t know. Hosted by Ali Levin and Emma Tattenbaum Fine inspired by the kindness of Fred Rodgers, this show features a curation of work around a chosen theme from artists who dazzle us. That’s not what I thought it was going to be at all, you know, I thought it was going to be like a Mister Rogers parody. I’m not going all the way out to Brooklyn for that one.

Sorry. I won’t read all the shows to you. Let’s see what’s interesting today. Mike Kamplan’s at KD at seven, Chloe Radcliffe at Chelsea Music called eight thirty. It’s a little light tonight.

Yeah, nothing too exciting. Let me make a second pass here a mad Ethnic a New York City variety show at Second City at nine to thirty. The New York City Gong Show at Saint Mark’s Comedy Club at nine thirty might be a night to stay in and watch Sunday night football. Front of the show, Jason Zinneman specifically called out Chloe Radcliffe show, which is called Cheat. Zinneman writes in The New York Time, I was more than a decade ago a Hollywood producer told me you couldn’t make a movie about a woman who cheats on her boyfriend, her spouse and still retains the audience’s sympathy.

The stand up Chloe Radcliffe proves him wrong in this personal solo show that explores infidelity, her own and the subject broadly with a refreshing candor and open mindedness. Bill Board caught up with Caroline Hirsch and Andrew Fox. They’ve put this thing on. They were curious what’s change over the last twenty years? Caroline said, most noticeably is the depth and length of the festival.

We started out with ten big shows and three or four headliner shows. Now the festival is eleven days with over three hundred shows and twenty two headliners. And I would attribute a big part of that to the fact that comedy is more of a staple in our lives today. Andrew Fox said, when we started, so few comics were playing theaters. New York has had such great theaters Carnegie Hall, the Beacon Theater, Madison Square Garden for comics.

In two thousand and six, we’ve put Dane Cook in a MSG for two nights. We sold thirty eight thousand tickets. Since then, we’ve put Kevin Hart, Bilburr and Trevor Noah the Garden. Fox said, when we put Dane there, it really changed the way people looked at the comedy business back at that from our humble beginnings. It was a game changer for US agents and managers in the industry.

Caroline Ursh gets it and says, ideally, comedy is about taking information that may be controversial or polarizing and make it more palatable in a communal setting where everyone comes together to laugh and let off steam. We live in a country where fifty percent of the people are pissed off and fifty percent are happy. How do we bring those two sides together by making them laugh? Laughing is a healing process. It soothes.

The Soul Billboard asked how a stand up comedy change since the festival started. Caroline said, it’s a lot smarter and much more political. Used to be very left leaning, but now it’s more balanced. There’s a right leaning side to it now. Women play a much bigger role in comedy now too.

Also, the number of headliners has increased. In the early days, I had maybe eighteen headliners. Today there must be one hundred comics that can headline. I think Caroline’s had a lot to do with that growth. It did.

We also played a role in the media’s increased interest in comedy. It did in the early eighties. No one covered comedy. I had to convince people to cover it at the New York Daily News, page six and on Howard Stern Show. I don’t know about that latter one.

I was listening to Howard when he came to New York in nineteen eighty two, and he had comics on. I can’t say I remember day one, but I sure remember comedians being on the show. I sure remember Jackie the joke Man, so I don’t know about that last point there. Caroline, what show should we not miss? She says, New York’s Funniest.

Every year, we survey the canvas, so to speak, and select ten promising comics to participate. Some major comedians have come out of it. Nate Berghatzy and Michael Jay won in different years. The night Michael Jay won, he got an agent’s and a manager at the Barred Carolines. My voice is shot, so that’s it.

Actually, I don’t have any more stories anyway. I was actually done, but my voice is shot. See you tomorrow,

Caloroga Shark Media. I am Johnny Mac with your Daily Comedy News. I feel like being conversational today. I’ve got some stuff on my mind. I want to tell you about Back to the Future of the Musical.

I want to talk about where I think comedy is right now, and I’m not sure it’s on the mark at the particular moment, So let me just talk for a little bit. In the second half, we’ll tell you about the comedy festivals and do some stories. Thursday night, I went into Manhattan, which, if you listen to the show, you know like, oh, I have to go to Manhattan. I would seriously rather drive to Chicago. It’s easier.

I would rather fly to Australia. It’s easier. Getting to Manhattan is a bear. But I went because my daughter hooked me up with tickets to Back to the Future the Musical and it was awesome, just a good time. I’m like jonesing now to watch the movies again.

The guy that plays Marty McFly does that Michael J. Fox creaky voice thing. I don’t think I have a half assed Michael J. Fox impression, but you know the voice he nails that shows a lot of fun the actors have a good time performing their roles. These special effects are amazing.

It really reminded me of when you’re in a waiting room at Disney World and they’re trying to distract you. Standing there for half an hour, just fantastic. It’s closing in January, which stinks. January fifth is the last day for the Broadway run. I do see there’s a Los Angeles run that goes until December first.

There is a national tour of it. I also see San Diego dates in January and a world tour that will hit Japan and Germany. Anyway, if you could see this thing a lot of fun. I was high on life coming home last night. So while I was in New York City, I’ve mentioned the New York Comedy Festival, which i’ll talk about in the second half.

Is Invisible Now. I walked from thirty second Street and Seventh Avenue up to fiftieth Street and Seventh Avenue. So if you’re not familiar with New York City, that’s Times Square and the extended area. So basically I walked from Madison Square Garden through Times Square too the Broadway district. So if you’re not from New York, and you think of New York, this is exactly the part of town that you think is New York City.

No New York Comedy Festival. I saw Barker’s holding up signs with Comedy Central logos on it, trying to get me to go to see some comedy shows. That’s always the thing that goes on. But New York Comedy Festival completely invisible. They’ve been nothing but good to me.

It’s a good festival. But New York is too big, and boy was Times Square packed Saturday Night Live tonight with Bill Burr. I’m very curious to see what they do tonight, so I’ll talk about the comedy part of it in a second. I saw this clip from Conan O’Brien. This is Bill Burr reacting to Trump being elected in twenty sixteen.

So perhaps this is insight into what Bill Burr’s thinking. And I don’t understand why everybody’s so upset. Yeah, get out, Like, what’s gonna happen to you? Do you liked Obama? Did he call you at all in the.

Last eight years? Did you ever put a sandwich on your table? You do that, You’re gonna keep doing that. You’re gonna be fine. Right, have you like Lona, Dude?

I have to say though, him winning is the most astounding thing I’ve ever seen. It was a surprise, surprise. Dude, Like you’re talking like like Lake Placid, the Olympics when we beat the Russian Barry sat Kirk Gibson’s home run is a joke, right, the Giant’s beating the undefeated Patriots, that’s all a joke. Through the star of a reality show is gonna run the country. I got decided if Brett Michaels or Cindy Lauper would make a better CEO for a company that doesn’t exist, it’s gonna be running stock.

It’s unbelievable. Yeah, he just reminded me like when I didn’t read the book and I’m just like just winging it. You know, how are you gonna do that? Oh you’ll say, you’ll say, did it worked. In twenty twenty two, Bill Burr, who’s hosting SNL tonight, spoke to The Hollywood Reporter.

In twenty two, Burr said, as someone who considers self liberal, it’s this point to see the left come how the right used to be when they went after the Dixie Chicks after the criticized George W. Bush. It’s not a lot of people like that. Most of them are not trying to get in trouble. But there’s this small collection of lunatics either on the right or left any given moment that causes hysteria.

You may recall in twenty twenty three, Bill’s wife was seen giving Trump the middle finger at a UFC event. I remember the events. I forgot that it was Bill Burr’s wife. Burr was on The Rich Eisen Show and said, I love my wife. You know where you stand with her.

The guy walked in the arena, everybody cheered, she gave him the figure. Nobody got arrested. That’s why his country’s great. Everybody expressed themselves, can we all be adults on threads? And I got to figure out how we refer to a threads?

So much easier saying tweeted, so triumph threaded on our mind you. Robert Smigel wrote many of the all time bits on Saturday Night Live, including Reagan mastermind Trium slash. Schnegel wrote snl open that won’t happen. Biden woken up suddenly getting visits from people he hasn’t heard from since July. All seeking preemptive Pardons, Pelosi, Shift, Liz Cheney, Stephanopolis, Lebron, Bill Maher, Beyonce plus Chris Christy and a guy who called Trump chump in college.

Biden no, now you need me. Biden cuts deals with each of them, ranging from scoring tickets to taking someone else’s shoes to smelling their hair. Somebody responded to that, saying, I got an image in my mind of Maya Rudolph sitting at a piano singing Hallelujah and now please excuse me, but I must go hurl yes, and now you’re gonna have a lot of eyes on you tonight. Before I dive in today, let me quote Caroline Hirsch, who used to own Caroline’s Comedy Club and has organized the New York Comedy Festival. Caroline Hirsch said, pay attention here.

This is very important. Caroline Hirst said. Ideally, comedy is about taking information that may be controversial or polarizing and making it more palatable in a communal setting where everyone comes together to laugh and let off steam. We live in a country where fifty percent of the people are pissed off and fifty percent are happy. How do we bring those two sides together?

By making them laugh. Laughing is a healing process. It soothes the soul. I’m glad I found that quote from Caroline because I have struggled to capture my feelings here and I think Caroline has captured them again. Comedy is about taking information that may be controversial or polarizing and making it more palatable in a communal setting where everyone comes together to laugh and let off steam.

Let’s dive in. So where I am with the election, and stay with me. If you listen to me every day, you kind of get my vibe here. I was not surprised at all by the result. Whatever my political opinions are, I was not surprised by the result.

And I think Hacks on Tap, which is a podcast, nailed the vibe. And I’m leading up to something here. You may recall Tony Hinchcliffe told a joke, terrible joke, told one joke. It was a joke in the middle of a six hour event, in the middle of a four month campaign. They drilled down and everybody focused on that.

And then I look at my friend Tom. My friend Tom has to work six days a week. I’m friends with some people who were very happy with the result. This week. I’m friends with some people who are very unhappy of the result.

This week, hacks on Tap talked about the optics. So say you’re standing on a stage with Beyonce and Bruce Springsteen. Hacks on Tap said, you got to understand how off putting this is to so much of America. It feels very comfortable if you’re having a dinner party at Tina Face House, but out there where they’re bending metal and parking squad cars for a living, it’s not only a shortcoming, and it’s an off putting vibe. That’s how I feel about comedy right now.

I get where the late night hosts are coming from. I get that comedy is supposed to comment on the current situation. I think Late Night is not helping themselves this week. I’ve mentioned here we have a podcast called Ballot, which makes fun of politics. I’m working with AI to take stories and make fun of the stories.

If there’s comedy to be mined, we make fun of it, pure comedy. Trump is a more colorful character than Harris was. Joe Biden. You can make old jokes. Jade Vance is a bit of a character.

Tim Wallasle is a bit of a character. So we throw those things in there and we make fun of it. All Since the election, we’ve taken the point of view of us. We never made fun of Trump. What are you talking about?

We love Trump and we’re having fun with that, and then we talk about how much we love Trump while making fun of the stories. I think the late night guys are off tone. This week, Jimmy Kimmel said, let me tell you, that was the worst Taco Tuesday of my whole life. We had the choice between a prosecutor and a criminal, and we chose the criminal to be the president of the United States. More than half this country voted for the criminal who was planning to part in himself for his crimes.

The Borto pick out there is more than half the country voted for the guy. And Kimmel I thought this joke was terrible. Donald Trump is like the Emperor from Star Wars. He’s old, he’s evil, and he keeps coming back with no reasonable explanation whatsoever. So a supertopical twenty eighteen, twenty nineteen Rise of Skywalker joke a better joke, Kimmell said.

Kamala Harris called Trump today, She conceded and then explained what the word conceded me. And see that’s funny, Kimmel joked, I can’t stay for another four years of this. My only request to President elect Trump is that he let me share a prison cell with Taylor Swift. I’m really good at making bracelets, and I think we get along just fine. Stephen Colbert said, Hey, there, how you doing.

If you watch the show regularly, I’m guessing you’re not doing great? Yeah? Me neither. Some people said to me, sorry, you have to do a show tonight, which is nice for them to say, but I don’t have to do a show. I get to do a show.

They’ll be jokes because it’s what we do. And I’ll let you in down a little secret. No one gets into this business because everything in their life worked out great. So we’re built for rough roads, you guys ready. Seth Meyer said, I don’t think Donald Trump’s a good person.

I’ll even go as far as saying he’s a bad person. On my defense, I’m only basing that on everything I’ve ever been taught about what makes someone good or bad. This is real and something I accept. Half the country thinks he’s a good person or don’t care that he’s not, and thinks he’s a good person and because of that, he’s going to be our president again. Jimmy Fallon hacked joke.

Well, guys, last night in America decided to get back with a crazy X and elect Donald Trump as the forty seventh president of the United States. No matter who you voted for, I think we can all agree that it’s going to be a rough Thanksgiving. I assume there’s a punch line in there somewhere. Kim Oll then the next night went on about Elon Musk and said, at least my children like me, which, again, I guess there’s a joke in there somewhere. Now you probably just heard that segment and think you know who I voted for.

You’re wrong. Just from a comedy standpoint, I think it’s off tone right now. Joe Rogan had on commie and libertarian Dave Smith, who does a political podcast of sorts. I like listening to all sorts of things, and I have a brain. I can listen to things.

Whether it’s Joe Rogan or Steven Colbert. They might have different takes on things, and I listen to things and sometimes I go, huh, interesting point, and other times I listen to things, and I go, that’s crazy talk. Rogan has advice for Trump and said, this is one of the first times ever where there’s a real chance to make real, tangible change that’s going to be for the good of everybody. He’s got to unite people. He’s got to not attack the left and not attack everybody.

Let them all talk their crap, but unite now. It’s time to unite everybody. Rogan said, it’s Donald Trump as the messenger was so polarizing that people lost what’s really going on just based on who this guy is. Just like Tony Hinchcliff is an insult comic, Donald Trump’s entire career is you’re fired. You’re a loser.

Rosie O’dnald’s a loser. Like that’s this whole stick. Recently, Rogan talked about Obama and said he didn’t come through on a lot of things, but as far as like a representative of the United States, who better than Obama? He’s the best of all time, the most educated and eloquent and even keeled, and he was a statesman and the way he spoke inspired confidence that truly the wisest among us is the king. I listened to a bunch of Rogan’s.

I don’t know if it was the Dave Smith one or if it was Tim Dillon, or maybe a different one. But he pointed out Harris, who did not appear on the Rogan podcast. According to Rogan, Harris one ad Rogan to go to him. Rogan pointed out Obama was the sitting president and went to Mark Maron’s garage. Jay Leno thinks the election was a great day for democracy.

The nice thing about the election is it was fair, was honest. I was not a fan, but that’s okay. It’s the president of the United States. Let’s all get together, thank you very much. In his view, the election was done professionally, there was no cheating.

Everybody says it was honest. I mean, it’s a great day for democracy. In my day, you kind of made fun of both sides, I agree with jay leto. Jay Leno had a very successful run hosting that Tonight show. Make fun of both sides.

Wherever the comedy is, find the comedy there, Leno said, you’d get angry letters from both sides. Now you kind of have to take a side. And yet it’s a little bit different. Dad Letterman’s social account, it’s unclear if David Letterman himself handles it. It’s unclear if David Letterman approves these things, but David Letterman’s Instagram account posted a video of Green Day performing America Idiot just hours after Trump was declared the victor.

Anyway, back to the future of the musical. It’s really good. You know, this one got overshadowed the three to one to two Comedy Festival in Chicago, and they’ve got great artists. Note it’s been going on since Wednesday, and I’ve talked about this during the week. Weird week to schedule things, guys and I did prep the show.

It didn’t come up. You got no Google results, and I forgot that this thing was going on. But tonight at the Chicago Theater at five o’clock Larry David Nate Jackson plays at seven at the Riviera. Ryan long As a show at Zany’s at seven, Angelo Colleen at Park West at seven, Kevin Herrera at zany seven to fifteen, Mark Norman at the Chicago Theater eight o’clock, Lisa Triggers at Zany’s, Kevin Herrera Well the Late show at Zany’s the New York Comedy Festival. I don’t want to read every show.

It is a pretty big festival. But let’s see what’s interesting here. What’s bot a swing? That sounds like a show that Trenmarcos Siresi and I were making fun of when I had him as a guest recently, Michelle Chan Bennett and Josh Nasser are Bobby Bingis and Tommy Laguini to nineteen sixties cruiters whose careers, livers and opinions have seen better days. That sounds like a good time.

We’re allowed to make fun of things again, right, Yes, we’re not going to freak out. The Italian American Defamation Society’s not going to showup because somebody did a character named Tommy Laguini. Right, I don’t know. Maybe they are, And I think this is back to the vibe we used to be able to just get along and kind of have fun. Not everything has to be a big deal.

It’s a comedy show. Jimmy o Yang Carnegie Hall at seven o’clock. Awesome, Joe List at Town Hall at seven, Jordan Jensen at Grammercy at seven, Sophie Duker at Union Hall at seven thirty, Joe Kim Booster at the Billhouse at seven thirty, jud Appatoo and Friends at eight o’clock. It’s a fundraiser, right, I’m asking you as if I’m not hosting the show. It doesn’t actually say and it doesn’t say who the friends are either.

It’s a little hard to you gotta tell me who’s on the lineup, guys. Don’t tell comedy at eight o’clock. What’s the location? That’s how don’t tell comedy works. It’s a secret indoor location.

B Yob show. That’s all we know. Sam Morrison and friend Sam is really good. That’s the name you should know at the Little Field at eight. Sophie Buttle at Second City at eight thirty.

A lot of shows to night. Believe me, I’m skipping a lot. I’m not reading the whole thing here. Jimmy Yang a second show at nine to forty five, Joe Kinbooster, second show at ten, the Mister Rogers Variety Hour. Oh that’s tomorrow, all right, Well that’s the Golffhanger.

I don’t know what it is. I almost clicked on it. We’ll see what that is tomorrow, and I think it’s time for me to go. If anyone is still listening, I probably lost everybody in the first half. What are you gonna do?

I’m gonna leave you with this TikTok that somebody sent me. See tomorrow. So you know how those lids all right, because this is fun speak, Okay, so this is it. So you know how those lids on the Starbucks cuts, they’re white, right, and so if you were lipstick, they get all over the lid. And so then I find myself in meetings if I’m the only woman, and that’s kind of until I keep taking the lid off and having my cub out so that I don’t have that big lipstick.

So I said, can we do something about the color of the lid. So that was that conversation.

Questions Answered in This Episode

What aspect ratio will the new Seinfeld 4K Blu-ray be?

The limited edition 4K release will feature the original 1.33 by 1 aspect ratio, while the standard Blu-ray will be 1.78 by 1. The original aspect ratio is preferred by fans to avoid the cropping and editing issues seen in Netflix’s version.

What was wrong with the Netflix Seinfeld remaster?

Netflix reframed and cropped the original 4×3 image to widescreen, which ruined the timing of certain jokes and required awkward manufactured close-ups. The color correction also made Jerry’s apartment look significantly greener than the original.

What did Paul Scheer say about artisanal ketchup?

Scheer argued that restaurants should stop making artisanal ketchup and serve standard Heinz instead, saying that homemade versions are inferior and that charging separately for fries ruins the dining experience.

Who did Sarah Silverman recommend as comedians killing it right now?

Sarah Silverman praised Robbie Hoffman, Mo Welch, Naomi Ekperigin, and Tim Robinson, specifically highlighting Robinson’s Netflix sketch show with 15-16 minute sketches.

How does SNL structure its production week?

SNL’s week runs Monday through Saturday with staff meetings and pitch ideas on Monday, group dinner and writing on Tuesday, readthrough and sketch selection on Wednesday, rehearsals and filming on Thursday-Friday, and dress rehearsal at 8pm Saturday followed by the 11:30pm live show.

What is Jimmy Fallon’s new holiday album about?

Fallon created ‘Holiday Seasoning,’ an original comedy holiday album featuring artists like the Jonas Brothers, Megan Thee Stallion, and Dolly Parton, plus comedy songs he wrote himself inspired by various musical styles.

Caloroga Shark Media. Hello Shunning back with your Daily Comedy News. In case you haven’t noticed, everything in the world has to be a controversy. Well, they’re putting the Seinfeld Show out on four K blu ray. Seems like a harmless thing.

What could go wrong? Fans are hoping that the four K release doesn’t ruin the show like Netflix did. Crack dot com looked into this. First of all, the box set will cost two hundred and fifty dollars. What are you insane?

My DVD set is perfectly fine. Fans are worried about which aspect ratio the four K disc version of Seinfeld will be in. You see, the Netflix version, not unlike the HD ramaster that aired on TBS, reframed and cropped the original four x three box image to accommodate modern widescreen TVs, but in doing so they’ve ruined certain jokes. For example, in the episode The Couch where Jerry discovers that Poppy has pete on the sofa. In the Netflix widescreen version, they edited in a blatantly manufactured close up shot of the pea stain because it wasn’t clearly visible in the cropped wide shot, which completely throws off the subtle timing of the reveal.

Good news we are hearing. The new four K Blu ray of Seinfeld will feature the original one point three to three by one aspect ratio, but that version will only be released as a limited edition. The standard Blu ray will be one point seven eight by one. Another concern, Netflix’s four K scan employed color correction that looks different from the original show. For example, in the Netflix version, Jerry’s apartment looks way greener.

By the way, if you want to deep dive in this feed, somewhere down there, I went into a rabbit hole one day about Jerry’s bookcase. Now that the stuff is in high depth. In one of the early episodes, you can see Jerry’s bookshelf where he’s got VHS movies. They’re clearly porn movie if you read the title. Somewhere there’s an episode about that, but we don’t have time for that today.

I have to tell you about Paul Sheer in the ketchup controversy. Paul Sheer was on the Subway Takes web series and said restaurants need to stop with the artisanal ketchup. Heines has perfected it. We don’t need your mango chutney ketchup. I just want the sugar.

I want the taste of Heines. Sheer went on further, Instead of restaurants are going to be serving burgers, fries should not be extra host Kareem Rama agreed, said, if I go to place and the burger doesn’t say burger and fries, you have to buy the burger for eight dollars actually eighteen dollars in New York City, plus another seven dollars for fries, and then they bring out the artisanal ketchup. Paul Sheer said, in you’re recking the experience. I don’t even enjoy the fries, and the fries are the best port You can give me a little thing of fries like this. Don’t treat me like an animal.

They then express sympathy for the restaurant employees who were in the kitchen crushing tomatoes to make the from scratch ketchup. She said, I don’t know how you make it, but I don’t think anyone knows. That’s why it’s so bad. The Heinz factory has figured out something that no one else could duplicate. By the way I’m doing this like borderline, half assed, angry Jerry Seinfeld and like Paul Shear was pretty soft spoken.

Hey, Sarah Silverman, who do you feel like is killing it right now? Sarah? It’s told the Columbus Dispatch. Taking a torrow, she goes at a joke from every angle. When you think she’s exhausted at every possible angle, she finds a new one.

There’s nobody like Robbie Hoffman, Moe Welch and Naomi Expergan, Tim Robinson. He has a show on Netflix. Sketches are about fifteen to sixteen minutes each, just hilarious. You have to watch it, Sarah. How does it feel to have a multi generational audience now?

Sarah said, I love it. I’ve always loved that. I do a bunch of odd jobs. Sometimes it’s good whether you know me from Monk or stand up or wreck at Ralph. I have r rated stuff and g rated stuff.

It’s cool, Sarah Silverman, What if you weren’t a comedian? What we’d be doing? Sarah said, I can think of three things. I’d work with animals, elephants or chimps. Those are two things.

Or I’d be a teacher. That’s the third thing. Part of me likes the idea of high school kids. This is ego talking. I feel like I can really shape them kindergarten for the same reason I really like kids talking to kids.

Their lives are so different. Hour is feeling like you have grown to be someone who would protect you as a child. That’s huge, Or I’d work with mentally challenged adults. I don’t know if you know this. Saturday Night Live is turning fifty this year, and we’re going to talk about it every day.

Ago Nuotam says, we literally work in an office building, which he spoke to The Wall Street Journal. I’m talking to people coming in for their nine to five scanning their badges as I’m doing the same thing to go make hahas and put on a costume. How does the week go? Monday, the staff meets the week’s host and floats ideas. Tuesday group dinner with the host, followed by night time writing sessions.

Wednesday a readthrough followed by an initial selection of sketches, which triggers production on everything from props to costumes. Thursday and Friday a rehearsals and filming of pre tape promos and sketches. A Saturday night and eight pm dress rehearsal that determines what makes the live show. At eleven thirty, mikey Day explained how the roommate thing works. He says, we just get paired there randomly, like college roommates.

Heidi Girdner said, my first year was really hard for me to knock on doors and think anybody would want to write with me. Not because people weren’t welcoming, because I thought I was following the rules of senior junior, sophomore freshman Keenan Thompson’s Where’s by the rule of making himself available. He says, I remind people, hey, I’m always down to be the hot dog vendor. Will Ferrell has a new project. It’s called Street Justice.

Will will play dirty Harry type who goes about taking justice into his own hands. I don’t know, I could say that working. I also think the days of Will Ferrell doing Will Ferrell’s style comedy have passed. I could be wrong. Jimmy Fallon talked about his new comedy album Holiday Seasoning features some big names like the Jonas Brothers and Megan Fee Stallion and Dolly Parton.

There’s also some non music people from comedy like Will Ferrell and Chelsea Handler and then checking both boxes weird out. Fallon said, I’m so excited about this. I’m proud it’s a good one. It’s a fun project to have. I can’t believe I have my own Christmas album.

It kind of makes no sense, but here we are. Somebody had put the thought in a Jimmy’s head to do an album. He said. I recorded one song and it wasn’t good. It was corny.

I don’t know what it was. It wasn’t me. I was like, I’m not good at this. Michael Boubla is much better at doing this, Kelly Lark’s and Mariah Carey, the real singers. That’s not what I can offer.

So I go, I have a comedy song. I was working on my iPhone. I had a song called Chipmunks and Chestnuts, which is a Roy Orbison inspired Slim Whitman Monty Python type of song where a guy hits a giant high note that’s almost annoying. It makes me laughs. I recorded that and I started adding tracks to it, and then I go, maybe I won’t do any covers.

I’ll do all original songs. I thought that was more of a challenge if you can write a comedy holiday album. I don’t know when the last one was, but we’re overdue for one, so might as well just do it now and have some fun. You get this opportunity to create new stuff and just put it out there and see what sticks. You know, there’s a Bob Dylan influenced one.

There’s a couple college radio type of keyboarding jams where I go, yeah, I don’t know if anyone’s going to get this one, but I think it’s funny. The couple pop jams on there that hopefully can get radio play. I like those. It’s a roller disco type of song called Holiday that I think everybody can get behind. He talked about the evolution the lyrics being it’s a holiday time to celebrate, we’ll stay out all night.

Then you had bass, and you make it more Jackson’s more chic. Then it turns to that and I go woul. The Jonas brothers do this. We sent it over their people and they were like, love it, let’s do it. They recorded their version.

They turned it into a real song. Jimmy says, don’t overthig it, released it, put it out. I have Ladys come on the show and sometimes they go, yeah, we cut this down. I wrote a hundred three songs. We cut it down to ten.

I go, you wrote on a hundred and three songs. If I ever wrote a hundred three songs, my alum would have one hundred three songs on it. Are you kidding me? I’d be so proud. So don’t overthig it.

Don’t go. Someone’s gonna make fun of me for this one. Put it out. It’s something else to listen to. You go, this one’s weird, but I kind of like it.

That is my vibe too, Like this podcast. Apparently you like it because you’re listening. Thank you. Other people might get stupid. I don’t care.

You’ll learn that as you get older. Just do your thing. As we’re working with weird, al found said he’s my idol. He got famous for his parodies first, but then when you buy the album you get into the deeper cuts and dear to be stupid and his poke stuff. I was writing all these songs for the album, and I was trying to hit every holiday I could think of.

I was thinking about New Year’s Eve and there’s no real happy New Yar’s Eve songs. They’re all sad. They’re all depressing. That’s covered. There’s no missing sad New Year’s songs.

We have a lot of them, whether it’s all Ang Xi or Dan Folberberg or whatever. I wanted a good song. You just put on a New Year’s Eve party and everyone go, this is so silly. I have to dance around and picturing mosh pits and picturing people screaming at the top of their lungs. It’s track number one side too me weird Al Yankovic and the Roots.

I said to him, what do you think of this? He immediately got back and said, I’m in. I love it. Do you mind if I rewrite a couple of things? I said, yeah, let’s go.

We started going back and forth. In two days, he had a full, unrecorded version of it, full sheet music of every note and every harmony, advanced stuff. He took it next level and he goes, you’re gonna get a ban on this. I go, I can. I didn’t think about that before I get a quest love.

I go, I have a song with weird Al. He’s like, I’m in. Weird ELL’s a legend. He’s the only one. I’m so honored to work with him.

He’s my idol. I Wanted to Be Weird Al Yankovic. It’s a Friday night in the Big City. It’s the New York Comedy Festival. Six o’clock Near Comedy Club, Joke Sista’s Comedy Show eight pm, Chelsea Music Hall, Bodega Chat Live, Beacon Theater at seven.

The Standard eight has Oneika McLean Onto some more famous people. Eight o’clock. Hank Azaria and the Easy Street Band at Brooklyn Bowl. That’s Hank Azaria pretending he’s Springsteen. I’ve played the impression in the past.

It’s not bad. It’s weird, but it’s not bad. Jack and Michael Whitehall Live at Carnegie Hall at eight o’clock. New York Kings Live at two seventy five Park at eight. My Grandmother’s Ipatch eight thirty, Brooklyn Art House, Paully’s Diner, a night of comedy and music at eight thirty.

Stand Up, New York Matt kauff Ear It’s Funnier, Brooklyn Comedy Collective eight thirty. Laugh Masters caveat nine thirty, Fibbs and Friends hosted by Connor Wood nine thirty, Grammercy Kate Owens Cooking with Catherine nine thirty, Strong Force, Second City nine thirty, Dan Soder, Town Hall nine forty five, Second Show by some More, Second show by Jeffer Curry, Tina Frimmel Live ten o’clock at Bellhouse Byron Bauers, Union Hall ten Aaron Berg, The Stand at ten Laugh So Hard you Don’t Cry, and Jenny Hogan and Laura Murley ten fifteen, Tiny Cupboard, Pino Noir UCB ten thirty, and the Trash King at UCB at eleven fifty nine. You know, that was a lot of show. And I don’t know who’s the biggest name, I said, Hank Azaria doing Springsteen, Dan Soder.

I got a comment here, that’s a notch down from what a Friday Night at the New York Comedy Festival has been in the past, Like a notchdown by a lot. But I guess this thing goes another week, and if we look ahead to next Friday, you know we started seeing people like Gabe Iglesias and maybe some bigger names as we get more into this. The other thing about the festival, and the festival was never anything but great to me. New York City is so big, as big as this thing is, as many shows as I’ve just read to you, it’s still invisible in New York City. New York City is too big for such a festival, if that makes any sense.

There’s a Joan Rivers show. Larry Ameros first met Joan in two thousand and eight to write material for the Mark Twain Prize. He asked Joan if anything was off limits, like which you make fun of about the suicide of her late husband and manager, Edgar. Joan said, I had ten new minutes before they closed the casket. That is also the Joan Rivers I know.

The play is called Joan and it’s at the South Coast Repertoire runs through November twenty fourth from short Oal Radio four announce some new comedy programs. They include What Seriously, a new podcast which combines comedy with quirky history. Dan Does Dating is a new sitcom from Michael Beck, following a man as he searches for love from one terrible day to another. Comedy trio cry Babies presents some audio adventures that are a homage to Steven Siegal’ hype action flicks. Ikkelwick FM is set at a dysfunctional northern community radio station, and Stuart Mitchell follows up his series Cost of Living with the new Cost of Dying, which takes a look at the size of the bill that happens when you pass away.

Chee John, What a great way in the week. I know you’re welcome, right, And that’s your comedy is for today. If you like the program, tell a friend about it. They might like it too. If you would like the program without commercials, this link of the show.

Note’s tell you how that works for an Apple podcast. Click the manner and avail yourself with a thirty day free trial and listen to that. That’s sad. It’s an iced coffee with not much left, and no Ice had this thing for let’s say six hours now. Why don’t you finish it?

Caloroga Shark Media. Hello, I’m Johnny Mac with your Daily Comedy News. I’m funny it odd putting the show together today. First of all, nobody’s really announcing anything, you know, news cycle and stuff that makes sense to me. But also, as I’m recording this, none of the big comedians have said anything like nothing at all.

Very strange to me. It was a news cycle where people were out and about and everybody’s hiding out today. I don’t know what’s going on. Very strange. I deep dove on threads and Twitter found some stuff, but not from the majors.

Did you see this fake Malania thing? So from time to time a woman appears standing next to Donald Trump who is ostensibly Malania Trump, and sometimes people on the internet myself included, look at the person and are like. Is that Milania? Is that a secret service agent in big glasses? Is that somebody from Trump’s press team?

I saw some tweet that aim with the person or is it actually Milania? On election there were many of us I’ll raise my hand that thought fake Mulania was out and about again. John Marcos Sarresi tweeted or threaded whatever it is. What do you do on threads. I guess he threaded.

Whatever actor that played Malania is texting her friends right now, like I got bumped up to a recurring comedian. Dan Wilbur threaded, at least we never have to vote again. Jim Chews, Oh no, he’s gonna make skang Fest a national holiday, isn’t he someone who goes by thick frog leg tweeted, And I haven’t seen a man beat a woman this bad since the Olympics. Comedian Matt Ruby Democrats should figure out how to make a podcast that appeals to men who like sports. Michael ian Black is not hiding out, he wrote on his very good substack Time it Again, people like me have been wrong about our fellow Americans.

Those Americans have told me time it again that I live in a Hollywood bubble, despite the fact that I live in Savannah, Georgia, and that I don’t understand the problems of regular folks like them, despite the fact that I come from fairly modest circumstances myself. Time and again, I’ve dis missed these people’s opinions of me because I didn’t want it to be true. Turns out it was true. If this is who regular folk want to leave them, then I really don’t understand it at all. Skipping ahead, he wrote, are we more of a union today or less?

People like me believe one way we’re wrong about everything else, So I hope we’re wrong about this one too. Send your letters to Michaeleaan Black. What about that weird thing with John Stewart and John Fetterman? Apparently Stuart on the show said Fetterman was unable to join us. But because we are a professional and venerated news show, it’s not like I just have to sit here with nobody to talk to or nothing to do, just because somebody said no thirty seconds before we were supposed to have them up as a guest in non political news, Bert Kraser will serve as Florida State University’s homecoming parade Grand Marshall.

Krascher is a nineteen ninety eight graduate of the College of Arts and Sciences, where he studied creative writing in the English department. The homecoming parade takes place Friday, November twenty second, at two pm, and we’ll celebrate the forty fifth anniversary of the homecoming parade. We’re told with a vibrant display of school spirit. Creative floats and a performance from the world renowned marching chief Jefs. The Bread is one of the week’s most anticipated events.

Paul Reiser is not afraid of new cycles. I saw this on election night. I was like, what are you doing? Really? Now He’s got a new special out on comedy dynamics.

It’ll be out the nineteenth. Actually it’s called Life, Death and Rice Pudding. In Life Death and Rice Pudding, Paul Reiser discloses the secret to successful downsizing, explains why the whole do unto others thing doesn’t work in marriage, and why boiling pasta naked is never a good idea. The copy adds and for absolutely no additional charge, you will come to understand why finding raisins and rice Pudding underscores the very meaning of life. Okay.

Baltimore Magazine spoke to Stavros Halkius. He started out his movie Let’s Start a Cults, which is already going to be available on video on demand starting November twelfth. Stavros said, I’ll be honest, it’s really bizarre. I’ve never had to be passive and just kind of let a movie come out with stand up, especially when you’re performing you’re so in the mix you can worry about things because you have to do the show. This is the first time I’ve ever made something and it’s a finished product and then watch it and not been able to change it, make little tweaks.

Baltimore Magazine said, I don’t think this is a spoiler, but your shirtless in several scenes and bottomless in one. To worry a little bit about being naked, Stavros said, who do you think wrote those scenes? Do you think anybody else asked for that but me? The director wasn’t begging me. I’m not Sidney Sweeney.

My nudity wasn’t going to sell, but I didn’t know if I was going to get a chance to make another movie. I think one class of comedy trope is a really over the top kind of sex scene that’s played for laughs. I do a nude calendar every year. It becomes absurd when you swap out a hot woman for a fet guy. You see how ridiculous how overly sexualized a lot of media is.

And I thought, putting me in the middle of that is going to be funny, So no trepidation. If anything, I was the one asking for more nudity. So I’ll do it straight here. On Thursday. My plan was to teach my college class, which means I have pre recorded Friday’s episode.

It’s still timely, but I won’t talk about the election. We’ll dive in on Saturday more about the election. I’m sure you don’t mind the break. The New York Comedy Festival kicks off tonight. As I’ve said in the past, it’s a fantastic festival.

They’ve been nothing good to me. But I do think New York City’s too big and this thing disappears, and given the current mood, I’m not sure this is gonna pop. We’ll see Happy to Be Wrong tonight six o’clock at NYCC East Village Christa Stefano. Then Chris is gonna haul it over to NYCC Grammercy for the same show at seven o’clock. At eight o’clock, dead funny and all star tribute to Joan Rivers.

I’ll talk about that in a second. That’s at the Apollo. Then Christa Stephano is gonna hop on the subway and go to NYCC Upper West Side for another show at nine thirty. And we’re just getting started. This thing will go on for another week.

All right. The Joan Rivers show at the Apollo is titled Dead Funny. It will feature Nicky Glazer, Michelle Buttew and many more. Caroline Hirsch, who used to own Caroline’s Comedy Club and is the festival founder, said the idea was Melissa Rivers idea. Here’s how it works.

Caroline says, they’re going to take Joan Rivers cards. Joan had a library of written jokes. I worked with Joan at w OR Radio two thousand and one. Definitely was too thousand and one because I remember we were talking about not just nine to eleven, but there was that whole Anthrax thing. I remember producing a lot of shows with Joan when the anthrax thing was a big scary thing, and yep, she worked with cards.

Saw it with my own eyes. Caroline said, we’re going to take all of Jones’s cards. She wrote everything on index cards, and she had a big cabin of them, which she gave to the National Comedy Center in Jamestown. But we weren’t going to do a show with that. Melissa had the idea, get Joanes foul mouthed friends, admirers, and fifteen hundred fans together for a night of inappropriate laughs.

Caroline said, it’s a lot of comedians who Joan was really close with. The lineup includes Sandra Bernhard, Patton Oswalt, Matzel Lane, Jeff Ross, Randy Rainbow, and Rachel Brosnahan, who starred in The Marvelous Missus Masel. Hmmm. I’m looking at that list in the ages of everybody and my personal relationship with Joan Rivers, who believe me. We talked about booking people on the show, and Joan told me I don’t really know anybody.

I don’t really have celebrity friends. So look, Caroline hangs around comedians way more than I do. And I’m not here to say that these people weren’t great friends with Joan Rivers. I don’t know. I’m just looking at it, going, yeah, but who knows.

Maybe when I stopped working with Joan, she became really tight with Paton Oswalt. I don’t know, Caroline said, I remember watching her when I was a kid on Johnny Carson, and I can’t believe what comes out of this lady’s mouth. No filter, That’s what comedians do. There was no filter on Joan ever ever. All right, Caroline, who else in the festival that you’re excited for, she said, Zorna garg We gotta call one day because Hillary Clinton and Chelsea Clinton were producing a series called Gutsy about gutsy women, and the producers called us and said, could you suggest some comedians?

And we suggested Zorna.

Also on the festival November eleventh, the annual Stand Up for Heroes show w…

Wonder what they’ll talk about. Bruce Springsteen will be there with the comedians from recent history. Having Bruce Springsteen on stage with you doesn’t guarantee that you win an event, you know what I’m saying. Nudge nudge. Caroline said he’s gonna leave his tour to play here.

That’s how good he’s been. And Patty’s going to do it too. I love that she tagged with Patty. I’m a Springsteen fan and Springsteen fans. I’m sorry, we just make fun of Patty because you go see a show and sometimes Patty’s there and sometimes not there.

Sometimes Patty’s the fifth guitarist, sometimes there’s no fifth guitarist. I can’t tell the difference between the two shows. But Patty’s going to do this show too. You’re making friends today, Jonah, Yeah, I know. I can’t help myself.

And since it’s a little bit slow and no one’s announcing anything, let’s look at Vulture’s annual list of the comedians you should and will know. One of those comedians, Raka Shankar. Raka says Tim Robinson is my favorite comedian. I love it how he always feels like he’s being himself and he continues to reinvent the world of sketch characters in comedy by just experimenting and not caring if it’s too weird. I think sometimes mainstream audiences are too quick to pass over comics like that, and they never get a chance to cook and try more and eventually find their niche.

And I’m so grateful he has gotten to do all that. Sam Richardson too, God, he’s so funny. I also love Quinton Brunson. I love that she has a background and working on the internet has so many of us do, and parlay those skills into professional sketchwriting and then eventually her own incredible TV show that she stars in. All Right, what was your worst show?

She said, my indie improv team, and I once performed a set for a youth group in Long Island at a hotel ballroom. There were teenagers who went on this retreat every year and on the last day a magician would do a show. But this year we replaced the magician. The teens filled to the room and saw their beloved magician was not there and was replaced by random twenty something year old improvisers, and they became sad. They sat down and one of the host announce said, now improv.

We tried to explain what that was, but I don’t think they wanted to hear it, and maybe we were also nervous and weird. All their suggestions were weird sexual slang that we didn’t understand and would ask what it meant, and they’d laugh and didn’t explain. Then we started performing. They were either talking the whole time we had to shush them, or they would imitate our object work from the audience to make fun of us. We left the moment the set was over, and that is your comedy needs for today.

I went with my usual caramel with milk, which is good, and you know, I figured, all right, if you’re getting two, it’s a good time to experiment. So I got the peppermint mocha. They’ve been pushing pass don’t do that. It sounds like a good idea, it’s just not good all right. See Tomorrow

Caloroga Shark Media. Tony Hinchcliff is off the hook. Hi, I’m Johnny Mac with your Daily Comedy News. It is seven thirty six am on Wednesday as I speak to you right now. Things went late into the night.

There aren’t all that many comedian reactions. Yes, especially the West Coasters are probably asleep. Some things I did gather. James Adomian on threads. Don’t worry.

All the Dick Cheney and Liz Cheney voters are going to come in any minute now. Jono Zelai said, what if I told you there was an even bigger pile of garbage. Liam mcinaney offered condolences to Jim Gaffigan on losing the gig. Andy Kindler posted several threads and tweets, one of them congratulations America, you are officially the most wilfully stupidest country on Earth. I’m not counting the people who have given up.

It’s not your fault. Evil is winning. THEO Vaughn wrote, congratulations Donald Trump, Robert F. Kennedy Junior and JD. Vance and your team, and thank you Dana White for helping pot podcast contribute to the political landscape.

Never would have happened without you. We invited all the candidates, but only three showed up. Yeah, I’m wondering if Kamala’s decision to go on SNL where you’re preaching it converted and not go to Rogan. We might go back and look at that and wonder, you know, the Rogan effect may have been there. I think there’s a lot more to it with this election, but not doing Rogan, I’m not sure it was the smartest move.

Somewhere during the eleven PM hour, I remember that the Daily Show was live and I was like, oh, I’ll check that out. And I switched over and they were in commercial, and like, I get it. I get the business. Believe me, I like running commercials. But I was like, oh, you had this opportunity here and you’re in commercial.

And I went back and I didn’t bother checking it out again. The folks over at late night or did? They recapped it and said at first, Stuart only alluded to the crushing results rolling into a studio audience that had been deprived of the emerging truth. Their take is that it looked as though Stuart and the staff had prepared for the predicted uncertain outcome in the eleven pm hour, But yeah, by eleven was kind of obvious what was going to happen. Late Nighter said that they had serviceable bits, one with Jordan Klepper wasting no time escaping Pennsylvania, where he had been a fake located.

Another with Michael Costa imitating John King and Steve Cornecki at their magic walls, except they were reporting on projected efforts by Rudy Giuliani to attempt to steal another election, a bit that was increasingly unnecessary as the show rolled on. Ronny Chieng had an unsuccessful bit, says Late Nighter, because it was about undeclared voters, and yeah, by eleven thirty, we kind of knew what was happening. The weird thing of the night, Senator John Fetterman of Pennsylvania was booked on the show. Stuart teased him as a guest and said he’d be up next, and during the commercial break, apparently Fetterman bailed. Stuart had a vamped and Late Nighter said he surely regretted they had expanded the show to an hour.

Stuart wrapped it up by saying, this isn’t the end. I promise you, this is not the end. We have to regroup, and we have to continue the fight and continue to work day in and day out to create a bitter society for our children, for this world, for this country that we know is possible. It’s possible. A couple of quirky stories I saw in the news from the New York Post.

New York City dog mayor election gets chaotic as crypto bros allegedly pay for votes. That’s right. It was the competition for honorary New York City Dog Mayor. Enzo the Shitzu was taken out of the race by owner Olivia, who told The New York Post that the race had become too negative, with crypto fans allegedly looking to buy votes. Apparently, the Crypto bros were supporting bertrand the Pomeranian to market their bert coin.

Olivia said, they’ve taken the fun out of it.

And now about this one from the New York Post.

Kamalaw, an elephant at the National Zoo in DC, was euthanized on Saturday after struggling with osteo arthritis for years. The timing there caught the amusement of some on the internet. One social media user wrote, Trump is real mad at a genie right now. Another pointed out a bad omen but for whom the elephant is named Kamala Shore, But the elephant is the symbol of the Republicans. One person joked even things out, I’ve euthanized a donkey named Donald’s.

Another said, you know Trump’s kicking himself right now because he messed up his last wish on his monkey paw. Others claimed it was justice for peanut of the squirrel. There were some late endorsements. Joe Rogan released an episode with Elon Musk Monday, pretty late in the day. Now, my dog get me up all night, so I actually listened to it on the overnight.

Somehow got three hours of podcasting, and that’s how well I slept. Rogan announced an endorsement for Donald Trump. Rogan explained his endorsement. He said that his guest, Elon Musk, makes what I think is the most compelling case for Trump you’ll hear, and I agree with him every step of the way. Trump said at a rally that Rogan’s backing was great and so nice.

Well, Ferreal endorsed Kamala Harris, and some people got annoyed at Will because he said this election is going to be one of the closest in history. Your vote will make the difference. Okay, fine, that’s fair enough. Then he tagged it with that means you, Gary, oh blah blah blah, I’m just one person. Shut the f up, Gary.

Last time, only a few thousand votes kept Trump out of office, and this time we will hold you personally responsible. Gary. One social media user wrote, Democrats have now resorted to physically threatening people to vote for Kamala. Another said Will Ferrell’s making it real tough for me to watch ELF this season. Stormy Daniels is out there on her stand up tour.

Her opener is the hilariously named Greg Studley. Yes I’m seven years old. Greg Studley spoke of Stormy Daniel’s comedy style and said, it’s not traditional stand up, no kidding, It’s like funny storytelling, and she’s got a message with a little dash of politicism. She makes a great connection. She’s got that something.

She’s really smart and you’re going to be pleasantly surprised. The owner said it took maybe a week to get it set up. It was like three or four of the morning. Greg Studley and I were talking and the next day, he’s like, she’s interested. We started working out contract detales and dates.

The reaction of the booking a positive. The owner says, everyone’s surprised. I can’t believe you got Stormy Daniels. Things like this help establish us and we’ll get her name out there. That is true, I’m talking about it.

Dudley said. She knows how to perform and get on stage. There’s a lot of things that go into a live performance, how you look and carry yourself. She knows how to perform.

Meanwhile, Harvey Epstein, I don’t know how his election went.

That’s the guy John Mulaney parodied on Saturday Night Live. There’s a real guy actually named Harvey Epstein. When Harvey woke up on Sunday, he said he had hundreds and hundreds and hundreds of text messages telling him to watch SNL, he told The New York Times. So I watched it, and I’m like, hey, that’s me. It was like ridiculously funny.

I couldn’t stop laughing. Brooke Shields also waited on Saturday Night Live. In one of the bumpers, John Mulaney recreated Brooke Shield’s iconic Calvin Klin Jean’s ad In case you missed it, John Mulaney wore a red button down shirt, dark denim jeans, and black boots, and he kicked one foot into the air as he rested his palms on the floor behind him. Brooke Shields posted mullany and herself side by side on Instagram and said, I see no difference. Nate Bergatsy is flooring at floor while you’re hot.

Now he’s going to be in a movie. Try Star Pictures has preemptively acquired comedy Pitch the Breadwinner all Right, time out. I don’t even know where I was. I can’t go back and listen. I’m gonna pitch to you guys, a Vince von movie.

Here’s how the movie goes. A guy is trying to record his podcast in his basement. His wife goes out for the day but doesn’t tell him that she scheduled the exterminator. So fine, he deals to the exterminator and goes back to recording his podcast, but she doesn’t tell him that she’s also scheduled the guy that comes with a leaf blower to blow the lint out of the dryer exhaust port, and he’s trying to record his podcast Where were we? What was I even talking about?

Nate Bergatzy. That’s right, all right, Nate Burganzy is going to star in a movie. Try Star Pictures has preemptively acquired comedy pitch The Breadwinner. The Breadwinner is in early development. Nate and a partner will write the script.

Nate will star in the movie. The plot is being kept under wraps. Nate also has that Lorne Michael’s Holiday Special coming out December twenty fourth. He will also have a book next May. I asked the publicist if I could have him on.

The publicist thought I was insane.

Speaking of movies, Chloe Fyneman, Patton Oswalt, and John McEnroe have joine…

They joined Chris Parnell, Jake Johnson, Mary Steinbergeon Ed, Harris ben Stiller and Tennis Great Andy Roddick. Adam Carolla told the Rap he remembers the exact moment he wanted to give stand up comedy a shot, and he has Jay Leno to thank for it. What’s the story here, John, Well? You see, Adam Carolla was working construction back in the eighties. It was at a house across the street from where Jay Leno lived.

Corolla told The Rap Jay would come out at noon, get the newspaper, walk back in the house dressed like Rodney Dangerfield his famous bathrobe, and I’m across the street sweating my butt off, spreading stucco, and I’m just looking at this guy’s schedule, and I’m going, I’ve been here since seven in the morning, I’m covered with stucco, we haven’t even broke for lunch yet. And he’s just getting his newspaper and goes back in the house. I’m looking at this guy’s schedule and I’m like, that’s a schedule for me. Sam Jay had a hot take for Roy Wood Junior about hollow. The topic was that one third of Americans think blackface is okay if it’s part of a Halloween costume.

Sam Jay told Roywood Junior, you gotta let kids do it. No kid wants to not fully Halloween. You don’t want to be a ninja turtle up to hear and it’s just your head sticking out and you’re like, it’s me Antoine, but I’m really Michaelangelo. Sam said she recently encountered blackface as a costume on Halloween, said, listen, I have my friend this kid. He wanted to be Kevin Garnett for Halloween, right, So he put on the Kevin Garnett jersey.

Then he went to his mother’s makeup and he was going to darken his face and his parents were like, no, you can’t do that. That’s fensive with black people. It was part of me that felt bad for him because now he’s just a white boy and Kevin Garnett and he could have been that on any day of the week from the Daily Mail. Like comedians suing Steve Coogan’s production company has told the High Court obviously Steve copied elements of a sitcom. Joshua Rincoff, also known as Harry Deansway, is claiming that Baby Cow Production copied parts of the sitcom Shambles.

Rnkoff created, wrote and directed two series of Shambles and said producers working on l Live at the Moth Club would have seen some or all of his show and obviously copied both the format and the distinctive elements of the sitcom. Live at the Moth Club is set at a Rundown comedy club. It includes real life comedians performing stand up and sketches. Rinkoff claims that some of the characters in that show are identical to those from his twenty thirteen web series called Shambles, and that even the jokes are similar. A representative of Baby Cow Production said they were unaware of Shambles and argued that LATMC is a mockumentary, not a sitcom, and one of its key features is that it presents substantial passages of actual stand up, which Shambles does not.

And are you in Cleveland, Well, then hit up the Cleveland Comedy Festival. I don’t know why the Cleveland Comedy Festival picked today. I think people might be distracted today. Well, at least you’ll have something to talk about, won’t you. The festival will be centered at Forest City Brewery at twenty one to thirty five Columbus Road in Cleveland.

You know the place. I will not be the Cleveland Comedy Festival because it’s trivia night. I will be at the Bow playing trivia. Had a disaster last week, finished like third last, got a rebound. See you later, Trivia guys, and everybody else.

See you tomorrow.

Caloroga Shark Media. If you have not voted yet, hit pause and go vote. Why are you listening to a dumb comedy podcast. Hi, I’m Johnny Mac with your daily company news. Go vote, It’s super important.

Jerry Seinfeld has blasted his children’s former private school, why because they said they would allow emotionally distressed kids to take the day after the election off. According to The Daily Mail, children attending the Ethical Culture Fieldston School, which costs sixty five, five hundred and forty dollars a year in fees, children will be allowed to excuse themselves from classes. Further report, an email titled Election Day Support, the principal said it acknowledges that this may be a high stakes and emotional time for children. The email, seen by The New York Times adds, no matter the election outcome, the school will create space to students with the sport they may need. Jerry spoke to The New York Times and said decisions like that irritated his family and forced them to transfer his son out.

He said, this is why the kids hated it. What kind of lies if these people live that makes them think this is the right way to handle young people? To courage them the buckle. This is the lesson they’re providing front golly sums of money. Absences will be allowed on Wednesday or whenever the full election results are announced.

Kids, you might be out of school for two months. Please vote, Vote for somebody. Please vote. John Oliver got emotional during last week. Tonight, Oliver said elections alone aren’t efficient for large scale change, but they’re absolutely necessary for it to ever happen, because it’s the day you essentially get to choose who you’d prefer to be pushing for the next four years and where you’ll be pushing them from.

Oliver got teary eyed and said, look, I love this country. I’m an immigrant, I chose to be here. In the words of the late great Lee Greenwood, I’m proud to be an American, and I’d argue there’s nothing more American than having a healthy adversarial relationship with those in power, even if you voted for them. A clip of Ricky Gervas went viral. Jervas posted this back when I swapped out Biden for Harris.

Here’s Ricky, Hi, guys, Ricky g here wellness and beauty influencer. As a celebrity, I know all about stuff like science and politics, so trust me when I tell you who you should vote for. If you don’t vote the right way, it’s like a hate crime. And that makes me sad and angry and I’ll leave the country, and you don’t want that. Looking at to tomorrow, I don’t know what time of day the episode’s coming out right now.

I have nothing for tomorrow. I kind of want to react to whatever happens tonight. So if the comedians are out saying stuff, I’ll bang out an episode. You know. If we get late into the evening tonight, I might wait and wake up and record something.

So if you don’t have an episode at three am Eastern, you’ll have one around eight am Eastern would be the backup plan. But I’m not sure what’s going to happen yet. The Daily Show will be live tonight. John Stewart and his team are prepared for a quote no resolution outcome. Ronny Chieng, Jordan Klepper, Michael Costa, and Desi Leidik will join John Stewart providing updates and analysis on the election, as well as tips on surviving the post election breakdown of society.

The special will run for an hour oh I thought you guys are going to go all night, Come on, go all in, Come on, John Stewart, go all in an hour the official title, as Comedy Central continues to have terrible titles. The Daily Show presents a live election night special with John Stewart, Colin in Decision twenty twenty four colon nothing we can do about it Now. The special simulcast on MTV, Paramount Network, TV Land, CMT Pop and Logo. Jimmy Kimmel was on with Joe Scarborough recently and said, I kind of have to think through what I might say the next day, the next bit the next day being tomorrow to you and I because you know you’re gonna have to be up the next morning talking about what happened or what didn’t happen, and what message do you want to send to people watch the show. Most of my shows aren’t important.

That one seems a little bit more important than others because I do have a lot of people kind of asking me what I think and going along with what I think, and it’s a big responsibility. I don’t feel like I’m mentally prepared for the possibility of a loss for Kamala Harris. I’m not ready for it. I have to get there when I’m ready for either scenario or for no scenario, which might be the case for several days. Who knows.

None of my writers can figure out my take on this. I have to tell them what it is. As for the interview he’s most looking forward to, he says, interviewing President Kamala Harris the last laugh. Asked Seth Myers, is a part of you like the idea of Trump as president? Don’t you kind of want him to win because it gives you more material?

Seth said, I can only tell you the tension left my body when Biden officially one was palpable, and that slow creep of the tension back into my bones has not been enjoyable, because again, this one could be worse, and the fact that it’s so close as bad. And by the way I think we should be talking about him, it’s not a crutch for me. It’s the guy who has either had or been runner up to the most powerful position in the world. So I’m never like, what is it about him that I just can’t quit? I know what it is, and yet I can’t really stress enough.

And again I’m assuming he’s a big fan of this podcast. But if he went away, I wouldn’t even reference him. He’d be retired from the show. The day decides to get out of this SETH said, we’re not gonna go live. I don’t think we’re going to know much tonight.

One thing we recently did, which we enjoyed a great deal, is a live prime time closer look about the debate. But we did it the next day, and for us, having twenty four hours to do both a closer look about the debate and the reaction of the debate was thrilling. So going live was great. Going live moments after the dust settles or while it’s settling. That’s a skill other shows of some in their very depth at but we have not historically found that we’ve landed that plane in a way that was worth it.

As for who wins, I think the show will be fine in either way. I think if I spent too much time living and planning for two different futures, it will just take a lot out of me. And you know, myself and they had writers. We’re all improvisers. We came from an improv background and then we learned how to write.

And so I think what we like most is the yes ending to the president, and so I’m just going to stay on our toes and knowing that whether we’re happy or sad, it’s better to have the show than not. So it’d be cathartic either way to be doing a shit on election day and the day after and the day after and the day after. Michael Barry was a monologue writer for Carson. He told Late Night or I think if Johnny were working today, he would definitely dive in. I think it’d be offended and angered by Trump.

Johnny was the epitome of decorum and good manners and Midwestern reticence, and Trump is the antithesis of that. But Johnny was sometimes motivated by anger. He’d see something in the paper that would make him angry, and he’d call him the writer and say, let’s do something on this. Late Night er asked, would Johnny Carson go as far as chemic Colbert Myers and fallon? Barry said, all these guys are doing jokes, I can picture Johnny doing.

He got a lot of mileage out of Nixon Watergate. Some people would just tick him off. He’d channel that into his comedy. Comedians work a lot based on anger, Comedy Dynamics has shared a trailer for Tony Rock Rock the World. It’s out today as a video special on album Form.

On the eighth, they share a trailer. I pulled it. I was ripping the audio and I was going to comment on how long it takes Tony Rock to even get to anything resembling a punchline, and I was a minute five seconds in and I realized, I can’t play this on my podcast. You guys would be like, what is he doing? What happened to the jokes?

So no trailer from me. It took a long time to get going. Tony Rock Rock the World sees Tony Rock offer a fresh take on post pandemic life, covering black culture, gender and relationships. Tony Rock told Deadline this project has been a monumental endeavor, crafted during countless nights of brainstorming or rewriting and perfecting every single bit. This isn’t just a show.

It’s a milestone in my career, and I believe it’s some of my best work yet. If the name sounds familiar, Tony Rock’s brother is Chris Tony Rock, also famous for being slapped by the brother of Will Smith. The Plano Comedy Festival, the largest comedy festival in North Texas, is back. They’re back today, guys. Today’s not a great day for news coverage and tomorrow’s worse.

Caloroga Shark Media Helloom Johnny Mac with your Daily Comedy News. John Mulaney was your host of Saturday Night Live episode e oh Hey, I got some thoughts. I thought John Mulaney was coasting on reputation during a not funny monologue. Stunningly not funny.

Also an interesting choice to be doing race based humor given the recent news…

John read the room. He got a free pass on it because it was a pretty much openly democratic Saturday Night Live. But apparently it’s okay to get up and do jokes about Asians. I’m just saying. During the beginning of the set, mullaney poke fun at the fact that having a five week old daughter and a two year old son, along with a Chinese and Vietnamese wife and mother in laws was a Filipino made as ensured that he spends most of his time looking down at people.

But the big news was a surprise appearance by Kamala Harris, who appeared in the cold open. They redid the mirror sketch. They’ve done this before. Mick Jagger one time did the mirror sketch with Jimmy Fallon. Donald Trump has done the mirror sketch.

This time it was actual Kamala Harris being in the mirror of Maya Rudolph’ Kamala Harris. Some people, quite unfairly, have accused Harris of ripping off Trump in the bit, but it is not a bit that they’ve never done before, so I don’t think that’s fair. The opening sketch I thought was flat. Dana Carvey’s Biden it was fun the first time, but it’s one joke and he’s doing it every single week, very much diminishing returns. Jim Gaffigan’s Tim Walls is excellent, but we have this whole ensemble cast there.

Nobody else can do a Tim Walls, And I think again, Jim’s is wonderful, but what is Saturday Night Live Now? People pointed out the opening sketch only had one actual cast member, Bowen Yang as jd Vance, and everybody else is doing cameos. What are we doing? I personally didn’t find the Kamala thing funny.

Moving on to the news, Colin jost joke next week America will decide if the n…

Another joke from Jost. At a rally, Trump said he would protect women, whether the women like it or not. For example, He’s going to make everyone who is endangered to women wear an orange vest. That was a good joke. This is particularly interesting.

The FCC commissioner claimed that the Harris appearance violated the equal time rule. Stay with me because I’ve got a twist at the end of the story. Commissioner Brendan Carr tweeted, this is a clear and blatant effort to evade the FCC’s equal time rule. The purpose of the rule is to avoid exactly this type of biased and partisan conduct, a licensed broadcaster using the public airwaves to exert its influence for one candidate and on the eve of election, unless the broadcaster offered equal time to other qualifying campaigns. So the key there is public airwaves.

This being on NBC over the air, it’s a little different than cable TV. I teach college class on this. The short version is bandwidth is limited and assigned by the government. So for example, over the air w NBC New York, that’s the public airwaves, whereas HBO is not the public airwaves. A Whtz one hundred point three FM Newark commonly known as Z one hundred.

Those are public airwaves. However, the iHeartRadio app where you would get ZER one hundred, not the public airwaves. Commissioner Car was appointed to the FCC by Donald Trump in twenty seventeen. Forbes says Car is also credited as the author of a section in Project twenty twenty five. Not gonna go there today, but here’s the twist that I told you to stick around for.

Lord Michaels told the Hollywood Reporter, you can’t bring the actual people who are running on because of election laws and equal time provisions. You can’t have the main candidates without having all the candidates, and there are lots of minor candidates that are only on the ballot in three states, and that becomes really complicated. It is unclear if NBC reached out to Trump or those minor candidates. That’s interesting. Perhaps they ran some sort of stop sign.

I’m not an expert in this particular equal time ruling, but if they did, seems like Lauren knows that they did. Next week’s host will be Bill Burr. Interesting that means Dave Chappelle will not host the post election episode for the first time in a minute. Hulu is not messing around. Now They’ve lined up Andrew Santino for Hularius.

Hey, Hulu, Publo says, get back to me, man, what are you doing? I wrote you a nice note. Andrew Santino’s comedy will be executive produced by Peyton Manning’s Omaha Productions. Hilarius now is Santino, Burr, DiStefano, Gaffigan, Alana Glazer, Jessica Curson, Mittel Lane, Sebastian manascalco Otsco, At Kotska, and at Roywood Junior. They have not announced a date for Santino, but Hularius kicks off on November twenty second.

I believe Gaffigin is first up, if I remember correctly.

Meanwhile, my former coworker Jamie Fox.

His special is called What had Happened Was? It will premiere on Netflix on December tenth. Jamie will discuss the medical emergency that left him hospitalized in fighting for his life last year. As I’ve mentioned before, having I spent some time with Fox. I’ve been at parties with Fox.

I’ve been to a Super Bowl party. I’ve been at his parties in Miami. Not saying we’re best friends, but been around the guy to me that they weren’t able to prop him up in a chair and some sunglasses and have him flash a smile and be like, Hey, what’s up that they couldn’t even get one Instagram photo out. I was very, very worried about the man, so I’m looking forward to see what he has to say. Comic Relief US announced Comic Relief Live, a star studded gala on December ninth at Lincoln Center in New York City.

The event will honor Billy Crystal, Whoopi Goldberg, and Robin Williams with the first ever Icon Award for their deep commitment and passionate work bringing comic relief to households around the nation. If you’re younger, Comic Relief was on HBO for many years, an all star night of comedy. It was always one of the highlights of the calendar. Comic Relief Live will feature performances by Tim Meadows, Phoebe Robinson, Alex Edelman, Matt Friend in the Middle, Aged Dad Jamband, which features David Wayne and Ken Marino. More names to be announced.

Darcy and Jerr remember them. I had them on the show two years ago. They were pretty cool. They’ve announced a North American tour in twenty twenty five, along with a new comedy album featuring all new material. The couple’s average at Best tour blends their quick witted banter and observations about marriage, family, and everything in between.

That’s the tour. As for the Special, Darcy and jer no refunds out today. These special captures the best of their comedy as they tackle topics ranging from mental health to the ridiculousness of modern life. Tim Walls will be on Colbert Tonight. Walls recorded the interview Thursday in Bucks County, Pennsylvania.

Hannibal Burr spoke to al dot com about his time on Saturday Night Live, which I don’t know if you know, turns fifty this year. I forgot that Hannibal had written for SNL. Hey, Hannibal, what was something you took from your short experience writing for SNL? Hannibal said, seeing stuff happen fast, You know what I mean, Because there’s a deadline. You’re working towards a live show that’s Saturday, so things come together fast.

Man. You see people come up with a sketch and then do the read through, and then do the punch up, and if it’s a recorded sketch. You’re shooting some stuff on Friday or Thursday, even on the day of there’s the dress rehearsal, and then there’s the main show, so there’s some stuff cut and there’s a production meeting in between, so everybody’s kind of firing at full speed. I think being around that just taught me how you can create things fast and move fast, and it was getting things done.

Also on TV tonight, the SNL Election special ten o’clock on Your NBC.

In the special a tribute to all the political parodies over the years, Chris Rock will write and direct a new film, Misty Green, follows Misty, who is an undeniably talented actress, but her vices have derailed every attempt to revitalize her career. Her best opportunity in ages arrives in the form of Jordan, played by Chris Rock, a film director with the perfect role for her, were it not for their contentious past and sad news, Scottish comedian Genie Godly has passed away at the age of sixty three. She had been receiving palliative care after living a number of years with ovarian cancer. You may recall I’ve shared her story. Recently, she was doing a tour called Why Is She Still Here and she had to cancel it in September when the doctors were like yeah, Her daughter Ashley posted on social media, I wanted to tell you face to face because it felt very much what she would have wanted.

She went peacefully, and I want to say a big thank you to all the staff at the Prince and Princess of Wales Hospice. Thank you so much for being there and for making a very scary moment peaceful and a nice transition. Godlely revealed she had ovarian cancer in November of twenty twenty one. She was given the all clear in twenty twenty two, but a later scan discovered signs of the disease again. Buckle up, Big day tomorrow, don’t forget to vote.
