I took the whole week off. Adam Sandler’s got a new special on Tuesday. I am basing my whole life around this one. People magazine caught up with Adam Sandler’s family. They were at the New York City premiere of the big Netflix special Adam Sandler Love You That’s out on Tuesday.

Adam Sandler, now fifty seven years old, revealed that his daughter, Sadie and Sonny some of Hollywoods up and coming actresses. They’ve been in several movies now. They’ve encouraged Adam Sandler to take his health seriously. Adam Sandler says, they always look out for me, and my health is just like I used to do with my dad. You go, man, I want this guy around.

So I used to scream up my dad to quit smoking, and my kids scream at me to just calm down and try to eat a little more like a normal person. I used to take working out so serious, and now I can’t effing do it. I play hoop and then I eat. Every time a meeting, I go, what are you doing? Man?

November eighteenth through the twenty third, Just for Laugh Sydney will feature Trevor Noah, Eric Idol, Brad Williams, and the All Star Gala hosted by Melanie Bracewell and many many more Just for Laughs.

Bermuda, Hm, that would be a good one for Johnnie Mack. I’ve got remote equipment. January twenty second through the twenty fourth. Just for Last Vancouver in February of twenty five, no specifics yet, and the big News JFL Montreal July sixteenth through the twenty seventh. Nick Brazio is the head of programming for Just for Laughs and said programming these festivals is an exciting opportunity to innovate while staying true to the core of what is made just for laugh so special.

It’s gonna be no that’s what we should call it, but nobody listens to me. They’re hosting a live stand up show on Peacock on September twelfth. We are not getting paid. It just wanted to do it. Mike Birbiglia had a fundraiser in Los Angeles Forbiggs and Friends, raised nearly twenty thousand dollars for the YMCA of Greater Los Angeles.

I started with Langston Special. I had him as a guest about a year and change ago on this very podcast, and you know, enjoyed him and the special was I it was just on. It was one of those where it’s fine, it’s not annoying, it’s not hilarious. I’m playing on my phone, I’m distracted, and I was like, I want to watch something else, So I bailed on it.

That will not make the End of the Year list. It’s by no means bad, much much better. Chad Daniels on Netflix finally got around with that one that has made my End of the Year list, and it’s in the top t So I kind of have two tiers on the list as it’s developing, or I guess three tiers. So there’s Tier one, which is Roast, Tom Brady at Tel Triumph cross A Domian, Dusty Slay, Kyle Kanine, Matt Rife, Sammurrel, Dimitri Martin, Jimmy car and Chad Daniels. Those are your top twelve.

Then there’s like a gap to Kat Williams, Hannagatsby, Connor, O’Malley, Brian Simpson, Tig Nataro Taylor Thompson, Rachel Feinstein and Joe Rogan, and then I have a whole bunch of things that are just in a section called not on the List, and I’ll tell you about those in December because there’s no reason to pound on them. But Chad Daniels special very very funny and very strong closer, was very impressed by them. Chad Daniels, you may know, is in a relationship with Kelsey Cook, who’s at the Great Outdoors Spokanne Comedy Festival this weekend, and she discussed being an opener versus a headliner, and Kelsey says, I feel like you want to keep in mind that you’re not necessarily the person that people are paying to see. You want to try to set the headliner up for as much success as possible. There’s sometimes a little bit more looseness to try it and maybe some new material stuff like that.

When you’ve got a shorter set opening for a headliner, you really want to lock it in and do your strongest jokes. She’s from Spokane so can do some local material and says, obviously, if I try to joke about the garbage goat in Milwaukee, people have no idea what I’m talking about. I shared with you the other day eric Andre’s Instagram message. It did not go over well with the Australians. You may recall, eric Andre shared a story in which he felt he was racially profiled.

The only thought about yourself. You have to learn how to deflect so much negativity that’s thrown at you. When so many people don’t understand the negativity you live within your own head. But at the same time, certain anxieties and certain depressions are also lifted by the success. There’s a little less worry about what if.

Elizah Slessinger spoke to New Beauty dot com, your home for Comedy News. She says, this is a really exciting hour. I’ve been working on it for a while. I normally put out a special every year and a half, but I just had my son about five months ago, so I wanted to give myself time to recover from that. I sat with this material for a while.

It’s nothing but a raucous, outrageous and make no mistake about it, polished good time. I think it’s super inclusive that speaks to a lot of different types of people. The folks at New Beauty your Home for Comedy News were in interested in how she takes care of herself, and Eliza said, I’m a big believer in natural remedies. I say that as like a total novice in this area. I go to a place called Kosha Spa in Sherman Oaks and they do a lot of massages.

I’m a big believer in getting your muscles working out, talks, in stretching, stuff like that. I tend to shy away from anything invasive. As a person who talks a lot, it’s always nice to get my jaw rubbed, especially when it’s been clunch for eight hours. She’s also a fan of products that don’t use a lot of plastic. She says, I always try to do less plastic.

I do think there are perfect people out there making great strides in health and beauty, but I always favor products that are at least straw to use less plastic. A lot of times you buy beauty products and what you’re paying for is the beautiful packaging. What are you excited for this fall, Eliza Selessenger, She said, I’m excited to not sweat. I’m excited like every woman for the idea of pumpkin spice latte. To be honest, I’m just so excited to get back out there and be with the fans.

I’m excited to not be pregnant and be on tour because that’s a slog. I’m just excited to be running this hour and doing it for all the fans and the markets on this tour that we didn’t get to last year. Deadlines spoke to Matt Berry, not the fantasy football guy in ESPN. He’s Matthew Berry. This Matt Berry, the British actor.

Basically, that would attract any actor, I think, because all these characters are dead or undead or whatever you choose, they can say and do anything. That’s what attracts me to it. We don’t have to be cautious because these people don’t exist.

When you signed up, Matt Barry, did you realize the show would be an ongoing thing? No one does. You just sign up and see what there Isn’t anyone that expects their TV show to run for more than a couple of seasons, let alone six. It’s very rare now, and we’re all very lucky. Able to be one out there, but there won’t be a lot of them.

There’s a lot to watch, and now people can watch anything at any time. They’ve got all these streaming services. It used to be Johnny Carson was the only thing on at eleven thirty, so everybody watched, and then David Letterman was on after Johnny, so people watch those two shows. But now there’s so many options. Maybe more significantly, the fact that people are easily able to watch your monologues online the next day really cancels out the need to watch it when it’s on the air.

Once people stop watching it when it’s on the air, networks are going to stop paying for it to be made. Johnny Mac, you never mentioned Matt Rife. I know, right in the la time said, Matt Rife is living his comedy dream and now for the hard part maintaining it. Matt Riiche’s scheduled clocking forty to fifty shows a month writes the la Times led to a stretch of consecutive days without sleep as he stayed up prepping for shows, editing social videos, and barreling from city to city. He fought through it before a pair of recent shows in Indiana.

He said he almost collapsed while leaving his hotel room was forced to cancel the gigs hours before showtime. Suffering blurred vision and painful ringing in his ears, he could barely walk or talk. He had to be taken to the er Raife said during an interview with the Kuckuburra Lounge in Hollywood, I felt like I was legitimately dying. It’s embarrassing, man, because everybody around me saw this coming. Everybody’s response was, can’t believe this didn’t happen sooner.

He talked about crowd work and said, when you’re rehearsing your sat building material on a show for an hour long material special, you can definitely get tired of telling your own jokes. When I started doing comedy, this was never a dream of mine to be at this level. I was just like, if I could ever sell out a comedy club one time. Ever, that’s the epitome of what I think a comedian probably could be. Fellow comedian Eric Griffin, who directed Lucida, said, what I admire about Matt Riife is his work ethic.

Nothing was added to him. He’s been working hard for twelve years now. The fan base is kind of caught up with it, and they’ve made him super famous. Riife became obsessed with comedy at age fifteen when Grandma took him to see Dean Cook. The first time he went on stage for an open micy he said, he almost soiled his pants.

Thank you Matt for that image. Matt said, I had all my jokes memories, but I’m so nervous and the host goes on stage. We have first time tonight. Give it up for the uncomfortably young Matt Reef Griffin says he draws people in because he listens, so when he’s doing this crowd work with people, he’s genuinely interested in what people are saying. Those are the type of clips that have gone viral for him, and those are the things that resonate with people.

It’s not just CrowdWork for the sake of CrowdWork. As I mentioned earlier in the week, I really liked the special. I thought it was a lot of fun. It’s not trying to be high art. It’s just an hour of jokes and I laughed, had a good time on the couch.

You should watch it. It’s fun rife Warren’s audience members. Don’t try to be funny. Don’t do that. Just yourself.

Last week I was like, yeah, maybe I’ll try and grow a cheezy mustache, or at least I won’t shave until my wife notices and complains about it, and then every day I would like forget about this concept and shave it. A lot of the work for us was done by Kate Bop, squid Game, parasite and everything everywhere all at once. The more people see Asians and other entertainment forms, the less weird it comes to see them do stand up. These things build on each other.

I call it cool bleed. It also follows food culture. Interestingly, Tai Vietnamese, Korean, and Malayian food have all gotten big in the UK, which provides more reference points. East Asian comedians can talk about kim chi and Western audiences will understand. These things all track together and give us a leg up.

Phil Wang’s special is called Wang In There Baby. It’ll be on Netflix September third. Jimmy Fallon announced He’s staging a haunted maze at thirty Rock Why I don’t know either, designed by the team behind Universal Studios, parent company of NBC, that explains that theme parks Halloween horror nights. Jimmy Fallons Tonightmares will feature ten rooms, in one of which Johnny Carson rolls over in his grave, each based on some of his deepest, darkest nightmares. Those fears include werewolves, aliens, breen eating zombies, murderous AI robots, and abandoned gas station, and a cornfield crawling with homicidal scarecrows.

In a statement, Jimmy Fallon said, Tonightmares has got everything you need to get supremely frightened this Halloween. Jimmy also has a new book. It’s a children’s book called five More Sleeps Till Halloween. The book is due out September third. It’s a follow up to Jimmy Fallons very very famous and very very popular twenty twenty Christmas book Five More Sleeps Till Christmas, Not to be confused with the Beastie Boys Five More Sleeps Till Brooklyn.

So where can I see Tonightmares? Right in Rockefeller Center. So that’s where they do the Christmas tree. So I see what NBC’s doing here, all right, So we’ll do the Halloween thing and we’ll run that for a month and then we take that down. We put up the tree, actually pretty smart.

Dina said, at a certain point it was a feeder for the Comedy Central Roast Battle show on TV, So it was like a way to get into the Stand Comedy Club, which is where it was being hosted for the most part.

So it was like a way of showing my joke writing ability and hopefully a way of maybe getting my first TV appearance, which actually happened. So for me, it was a way of advancing my career more than like a love for the sport of roasting. Slat said, some comics love it. Dina said, yeah, it’s a lot of work. Eight hundred Pound Guerrilla reported on Gilbert’s new album saying Gilbert never put out a comedy album because, according to widow Dana Godfrid on her Instagram page, Gilbert didn’t want to use up as material. But there is a CDDVD called Dirty Jokes, which to me is an album, but okay whatever.

Dana has partnered with Clown Jewels to release Gilbert Gottfried’s first album or second album title to be announced. The album will feature material that was shot for the twenty seventeen documentary Gilbert. In support of the release, there will be an event as part of the New York Comedy Festival at the Hard Rocket Time Square. There’ll be a Q and a panel hosted by Frank Santo Padre, who co hosted Gilbert’s Amazing Colossal podcast. I mentioned that is a podcast episode that will be recorded there so they can run some spots.

Totally get It also debut a short film featuring never before seen footage that was cut from the documentary. All proceeds will benefit the Gilbert Gottfried Myotonic Dystrophe Type two Research Fund at Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester. He also announced a new feature project. Matt Rife will be among the leads of Rolling Loud, which is an R rated comedy co produced by Live Nation Productions, which will film at the hip hop festival also called Rolling Loud that’s in Miami in December. Rolling Loud inspired by the true story of an overprotective father who makes the worst parenting decision of his life when he sneaks his thirteen year old son into Rolling Loud, the world’s biggest hip hop festival, setting off a chaotic adventure. With his reckless coworker and an eccentric festival volunteers, they navigate wild crowds, security, and copywriting rule of three their own family dynamics. Rife’s tour dates won’t be announced until later this year.

We’re all terrified of it, and depression comes from not really thinking about it, suppressing it and are subconscious. I was really trying to hide it for a while.

I thought it made me a liability in this business. No one wants to work with someone depressed, but the business doesn’t care. They’re not worried about me killing myself as long as I’m getting laughs with it. It’s going to be okay. I hope Nikki’s got someone in her life looking out for her.

Meanwhile, awkward Segue. Fifty Cent has lashed out at Lunell following her comments about his comedy show. Well I am, but I’m not gonna watch this at Saturday night nine pm. That’s video game time. Or actually no, I usually do the Saturday night movie, often a James Bond film, which is the best James Bond film, Johnny Mac, it is clearly the Spy who Loved Me. I used to say on Her Majesty’s Secret Service. But I think Spy who Loved Me is just perfect.

Saturday September fourteenth, at nine pm, when I’ll be watching college football and or a James Bond movie, CNN will air Have I Got News for You. It’s hosted by Roywood Junior, but they’ve added two cast members, Amber Ruffin and Michael ian Black. They will service the captains of the various teams. That is really good hiring great. Michael ian Black, in a statement, said, I’m thrilled to be joining Roywood Junior and Amber Ruffin, as Have I Got News for You’s DEI hire.

I got pulled out of a lineup and put in a special line in Melbourne where I was sniffed thoroughly by a dog. Those dogs are pretty much ineffective. I’ve heard statistics like their eighty to ninety percent ineffective. It’s sniffing out whatever they’re trying to sniff out. It’s like one of the many times I’ve been racially profiled at the airport.

So this is a message for all black, brown and Indigenous people traveling through Melbourne today, especially if you’re traveling Quantus International by terminal two, Please be careful. They are searching black, brown and Indigenous people. Please let me know if anybody knows the names of those officers with the dogs or what that program is. If anybody has information on a discrimination Australian lawyer, I’m all ears, please send me that info. And if anybody has information on statistically how many people of color they put into this dog sniffing line versus white passengers, I’m assuming it doesn’t reflect the percentage of white passengers versus POC passengers at any given time at that airport.

Later in the video, Eric said, anybody hiring me to work in Australia going forward, whether it’s a production or a tour, please don’t make me go through the Melbourne airport alone. Please provide a police escort or some type of security escort for me, or have me flying to Brisbane or Sydney directly. I do not feel safe in the Melbourne airport. Pete Lee will be at the Comedy Vault in Batavia this weekend. Pete Lee, known for multiple appearances on the Tonight Show starring Jimmy Fallon, and his stand up clips on Instagram and TikTok. He said, the Comedy Vault is a really special club. The owner, Liz is really in a comedy and she’s really great to comics. A few of them love comedians the way Liz does.

Lee got into comedy, he said, I had a grandmother that was a lounge singer and told jokes in between her sets. I asked her for advice on jokes and whatnot. At one point, my grandmother was teaching me the structure of jokes, and she wouldn’t let me dinner until I wrote or a proper joke. That was when I was fourteen years old. In school, he majored in advertising, which taught him how to write two hundred of something.

They get to one thing that’s good. If you go see him, expect about three quarters of the act will be material and about a quarter will be crowd work. Pete says, for a long time was known for being a good writer material. I think my Tonight Show appearances reflect that. But the way the internet’s going right now, you have to release a video every day, or third day.

If I was releasing all my material when people came to the shows, they wouldn’t say anything new. I’m a trained improviser as well, and I think it’s really fun to talk to the crowd. In his set, he talks about marriage, his dog, drinking, and how much it sucks to be nice. It says, if you really look at the court what I’m talking about. I never say that sentence on stage, but I’m really talking about how much it sucks to be a kind person.

I talk about everything from calling customer service and how everything’s autobated. I do a whole section on young people. Everybody’s really hard in young people. They say it’s the worst generation. They’ve said that forever.

I defend young people for about ten minutes, and it’s funny. That’s what comedy’s supposed to be. You’re supposed to be holding up a mirror to people’s experiences so they can go I feel that way, or that made me feel better. If you’re giving out information or wisdom in a show, you wanted to help people’s lives. Comedy Vault, eighteen East Wilson Street, Batavia, at twenty five bucks.

You should go. Louise Atkinson said about the fringe, Billy Connolly could tell me a story about a Mayonaise jar for two hours. All right, Louise, how do you get in a comedy? She said? I was dating a comedy nerd who wanted to try stand up, so I researched comedy courses for them as a gift.

The same day I quit a job which I hated on my ex decided this was also a great time to break up with me. Anyway. I got an email saying the space had become available on the course of the following week, and I did it myself. Her show, She’s Got the Look the inspiration. Well, I got into the last round of competition.

I was told I sound good but look a mess. So the show is me trying to figure out which bit of me is the mess and why we make assumptions about people based on how they look when we should really judge people based on whether I think a jeffa cake is a cake or a biscuit. That’ll tell me everything I need to know about you. What’s the wrong assumption people make about you, Louise Atkinson? She says, when you’re a more curfy, voluptuous person than the thing most people tend to think is you don’t understand what healthy eating is.

Let me be clear, I’m fully aware of what healthy food is. I know what a carrot is. It transports dip into my face. Chort Ol gave four stars out of five to Aaron Chen at the Fringe and Right. Aaron Chen is verging on the big league in Sydney.

He plays three thousand seat rooms and is recently relocated to New York on a visa, which classifies him as quote an alien of extraordinary ability. Chen’s one of the only accident to a bit of local material up top, referencing shortbread in Edinburgh Airport, which he says is his main source of current affairs coverage. After he accidentally sign up for their newsletter. Chen moves there to a sizeable chunk about airplane food. It’s not even the first time he’s covered the topic.

It’s as if he takes on the routines as a challenge. Can he make it work? You bet he can. Four stars out of five and from the Sunday Post dot com. If you see Kyle Aker is walking backward around Edinburgh on a windy day, He’s doing it for good reason, not for laughs, but to avoid triggering his excruciating nerve pain, he says, I’ve walked backward into the wind to avoid it.

It sounds impossible that the wind could be so bad, but often the slightest pressure will trigger it, like if someone hit me in the face. Even wearing my glasses can’t affect it. He has trigeminal neuralgia, a long term pain condition that causes sudden attacks of sharp, shooting pain in the face, mouth, and jaw that can feel like an electrical shock. I’m particularly doing this story. I had a version of this.

I would get all of a sudden like it would the back of my head would feel like you stuck an ice pick in it. I would go from one un percent fine to excruciating pain for half a second, and then it would go away. I had this. Luckily it has mostly cleared up. It very rarely happens now, but in my twenties this would happen often.

Kyle explains, your brain doesn’t realize it’s just a little artery bumping into a nerve. Instead, it goes on red alert and thinks you’re being stabbed. He describes the severe bounts of pain like a down power line flying around in the inside of the right side of my head. Anytime it frequently bumps into something, it electrocutes me. When the pain gets really bad, that power line is really flailing and causes this electrical stabbing pain.

Sometimes it can’t function. I can’t even open my eyes while it. Just lay on the floor, pushing my face against the cold kitchen tiles to try and feel something that’s not this indescribable well of pane and nothingness inside my head. Dude, I feel for you. Man.

Wow, sounds like it’s this pretty bad, he said. I used to WinCE all the time and just tell people, including my aunits is that my head was sore. Now I still wins through a set, but I explain what’s going on, which makes it a bit easier. Being more vocal about my condition has made people around me more aware of it feels less taboo. There’s something in me making fun of it that makes it easier for people to deal with.

It’s been cathartic for me too. Wow. This article says it’s usually seen in patients over sixty. I had it I was in my twenty I remember I was walking home from a party in the cold and it felt like a vice in my head, and then it started up and had it for a few years, most of my twenties, probably into my thirties, and that kind of cleared up. Kyle said, I’ve met so many more people with this condition that I would have thought.

It’s been wonderful to meet people have dealt with what I have, but are also some steps ahead. You meet people have lived with this pain for twenty years and realized they found a way to live with some normalcy. So there’s there again. I don’t have it anywhere near as bad as he’s describing here. Anyway, He’s at the fringe and his show’s called Hard to Say, and they’ll find him at just the Tonic.

Nate Perganzy spoke to The New York Post about building a new set and says, once you have one joke you think you could close with, that helps you build a new hour because you’re like, worst case scenario, I have something that’s actually good last night. You have children and you just to look at your own life differently, You look at how you were raised differently. Your relationship to your grandparents, your parents, your great grandparents at all changes because you think about the good things you got from a place that maybe you spent your whole adolescence resenting. Your relationship to all that changes. I’m just trying to be somebody who’s a vessel of love. As corny as that is.

They were curious how she records her ideas when they come to her, and she says, I’m full iPhone notes pad, Like I can never switch phones because I’m addicted to the notes pad. I know comics is still write things down with their hands, and it’s like I forgot how to write and really dependent on it.

But there’s zero organizations. So it’s actually a terrible process because I have like two different notes and they’re just like can you scroll infinitely? And I never scroll, so they’re just ideas sitting there that I’ll probably never get back to. She talked about developing her SATs and says, you know, part of the problem is when you’re doing comedy. When you start, you’re just full of ideas and you’re like, everything’s funny, and you’re just like flush withled ideas, and your sense of humor becomes more fine, and then things you think are funny become less and less, and so I’m at the point where I think almost nothing is funny, and so it’s so much harder to come up with now something where I’m like, eh, that’s good enough.

Greg Ferguson told the story on his podcast towards the end of his run hosting The Late Late Show on CBS. He said, towards the end, things were getting a little nutty and Rob Burnette was running worldwide pants. I think I was reupping for the last two years or something, and Rob said, what do you want? Jackie Perico. God, I love her so much. She’s every comedian’s favorite comedian. Johnny Mac is unfamiliar with Jackie. She does her own thing, and she’s genuinely one of the best people in comedy.

All right. Sarah Bennett what is your pre show ritual? She says, smoke a Cuban cigar and jump into traffic. It makes me feel alive. Just kidding.

I don’t think I have one. I just go in and hope everybody thinks I’m chillin normal. And I think I have done a version of this story, but if I did, it was a shorter version. I’ll do the long version here from lad Bible, a comedian and got mad at the audience because he didn’t get a single laugh. Louis Spears was performing materially.

He’d done you know a bunch of times and didn’t get a single laugh out of the audience at the Kings of Comedy Club in Australia, not a single chuckle. He opened up his set and my name’s Louis Spears, and I’m frequently tall. I’m six feet eight, which is exactly two meters tall. No laugh. I get two questions, and you know what.

The first question is, you’re so tall? He played basketball? And want to look at these people and go do I look like an athlete to you? No laugh? I got the lower half of a wounded flamingo.

He switched gears started to talk about the last performance he had done in Perth, which he explained resulted in him being protested against as he had joked about the Dalai Lama. All right, let’s just sit in silence. What the F is going on? You know what’s really effed up is after the set, I somehow off to summon up the courage to invoice the guy running the gig. A heckler shout it out, you should lower your expectations to just a free drink. Spears said, that’s a good one.

I’ll just get a coke and nick myself. All right, you guys have been lovely. I’ve been Lewis Spears. I’ve tried my best. Have a good night.

Well here’s the twist. YouTubers Misfit Minds had actually staged a prank on Spears. They instructed the crowd not to laugh no matter what, so he left the stage. The crowd erupted it into applause. They got Spears back off a stage revealed themselves, and he said, did you do that on purpose?

Oh my god, I’m so upset. You know what’s bad about this? My last night in Perth, I actually did bomb. So I was doing the same jokes and it was actual silence that I felt awful. Got off stage and no one came out.

Caloroga Shark Media. Hello Johnny Mac with your Daily Comedy News. Nikki Glaser spoke to NPR and discussed doing comedy about sex because of her fear of it. Nicky said, sex was always the scariest thing to me. It was always the most interesting thing.

I didn’t have sex until I was twenty one. I didn’t kiss a boy until I was eighteen. I think I was scared of boys. I’m scared of sex. I was in a constant battle with my body from the age of seventeen on, just not liking what it was and being ashamed of it.

So I think immediately when I started doing stand up, I was attracted to those kind of unspeakable things that I was just wondering why more people don’t talk about them, especially when it comes to sex. She discussed whether some topics should be off limits because she personally hasn’t experienced them. Stay with me here until I finished the paragraph. Nicki said, I feel like I have a right to talk about rape because I’m definitely fearful of it and it’s something that could happen to me. But if somebody’s like I was offended by what you said, I’m just like, oh yah, yeah, I got that.

I’m sorry I have a panic attack on my show because I talk about a subject that’s really close and personal to you and traumatize to you. I’ll give you your money back, or at least the part of the ticket that I made out of the money, because I don’t want anyone have a bad experience. But I definitely don’t think that that’s reason enough not to talk about these things. I do think my jokes aren’t meant to be cruel or make fun of anyone who’s a victim or has a condition. I don’t want to offend anyone.

I don’t understand this rule of you only get to talk about things that you’ve lived. Because I’m just a comedian, I might not of the right take. I’m not right about everything, and I’m not enacting change politically with my stand up. It’s just an entertainment thing. So for me to be taking so seriously that you said this thing and it’s offensive, it’s like, well, I’m a clown.

There’s no requirements of courses I had to take. I have no certification for what I’m doing, so you shouldn’t expect me to get everything right. And I’m completely open to people saying, hey, you have the wrong take on this, and here’s why, and for me to adjust my joke to that. I have no problem with that. She also talked about performing while depressed and said it’s hard to perform when I’m like really really depressed.

It’s hard to get to the theater and be backstage and think I’m about to go do this thing. I have to turn it on. But I will say the second I step out there, the adrenaline kicks in and it’ll offer me relief and I’m able to be honest about it. That’s the nice thing about doing stand up because they don’t have to perform the same songs every night at the same play. I kind of get to say what I want to say, so I can kind of talk about it and work through it that way.

I think of depression as like getting a flu. At first, I get these sniffles or a little sore throat, like a little tingle in the back of my throat of depression. That’s when I need to throw on some comedy and it really does help. And I’m realizing that late in my life, actually my depression is way more in check now. Deadline asked Sam Morrel one of the biggest challenges of building a career as a comic Today, Sam said, I think the challenges are really just adapting, seeing the next move on the chessboard, and also writing.

Writing is really am I getting better? I always look ahead? Am I getting better at comedy? Is this hour better than the last one? I think this one is?

And I think my pace is better. My friend is very critical of me, and I like it that way. I like that he’s honest with me, and he’s like, there was more of a sense of urgency with your pace, and I got this, And now you’re relaxed and know they’re gonna laugh. You have confidence in the bits. I think that comes with writing a certain way, but also believing and trusting your audience.

And I do. I trust that they’re going to get what I’m doing. I do feel like there’s a relationship with the audience, and when we trust them, they were and when you panter to them, they’re too smart. Sam discussed his whiskey Bodega Cat and said, it’s been a rude awakening in terms of the liquor business. But Mark and I were just talking on our podcast one day.

We had a few Innus and Mark goes Man’d be so cool to have a whiskey, but we can never do that.

And then I was like, why we have a lot of drunk listeners, A lot of people in…

Two friends having drinks together. It was originally called one More Drink, based on the idea that you’re trying to leave the bar, but you and your friend are having such a good time, and you’re like, fit one more drink. You want you to feel that way when you enjoy each other’s company. We really do, and I think people felt that. I was telling my daughter the other night about I can’t believe when I was in my thirties at serious, I would go out after work and just get home like absurdly late.

And now that I’m definitely living on old Man Mountain, I’m like, I can’t believe I used to do that. How did it even function? I don’t want to make it sound like I would go out to have twenty five beers, but I would get home at eleven thirty at night, would be my point. On a Tuesday, I don’t know how I did that. Back to Sam, then when we said that, it just turned into people hitting us up, saying, we run a distillery, we do this.

And we went with a guy that we thought was the most Legit didn’t work out. We ended up buying him out, but he’s a great guy and we learned from him. Now we’re with a new guy and he’s hustling for us. I mean, we’re at the comedy seller. How crazy is that?

We were drinking butdega cat old fashion at the comedy seller, and I was like, this is funny, this is cool, Okay, Samorell, What are your ambitions in life? Sam says it’s hard to say. I could say myself doing this the rest of my life, just burning hours and billing an audience. But I do have other ambitions. I love movies so much.

I grew up really obsessed with movies, all kinds of movies. Film, noirth or even now, but forties, fifty, sixty, seventies were my favorites. I mean, the sixties and seventies in Hollywood was such a cool era. Yahoo profiled Hannah Berner, already known for her comedy on social media, showcasing on the street interviews and stand up work to her two point nine million TikTok followers and one million Instagram followers, but the attention that came from her Netflix special or on a different level. Hannah said, it was so weird.

Look when it was charting and I was like, wait, so everyone sees that or is that just my account? I really put a for six years into this one hour, so to be able to let it go and for people to enjoy in their own homes, it has just been the best part of everything. I never thought I was going to be a stand up comedian. I always wanted to be a professional tennis player, and that’s where I put my whole childhood and up until college. I think this Netflix special is so interesting because it wasn’t on my original path.

A lot of people can relate to having something you thought you wanted and then realizing as you grow and learn about yourself, what’s actually better for you. When I first did stand up comedy, I was like, wait, this is tennis, but I don’t lose. This is fun With tennis. I had a lot of pressure from coaches and family and my own pressure I was putting on myself, so comedy I just went into it being like, let’s actually make this fun and let’s enjoy what my life’s going to be instead of been feeling like a pressure cooker all the time. Hey, good news for me.

I was sitting here, I’m reading you the Hanna Burner story and I’m like, oh, you know, I really could go for one of those buffalo chicken raps from the smoothie place.

The greater the risk, the greater the reward. The idea of dying, whether it be on stage or in my actual life, doesn’t scare me. I’ve accepted it as an inevitable consequence of the way I choose to go about my work in recent years has made me braver. If anything, I find a care less about what audiences might think of the topics I mind for comedic material, and through that my convictions have become emboldened. Jeff Goldbloom sat in for Jimmy Kimmel last week and said, according to a new study, cigarette smoking in America is the lowest that it’s been in eighty years. The study was funded by the world renowned Institute of Vaping.

Is actually healthy and cool as hell, Jimmy Fallon said. Ahead of the Democratic National Convention, Kamala Harrison Tim Walls are taking a bus tour together through Pennsylvania and this is interesting. It’s the same bus that Democrats through President Biden under That’s pretty good. Don’t forget to follow the Ballots podcast. Fun one from the Daily Mail. Remember Terry Sandel was in Australia and he got heckled and he said, how this, I’ll screw up. Jim Jeffries at a show in New York. Matt Rife his new crowd Work special. I liked it a lot. I commented in the various socials again Daily Coming to News podcast group and Daily Coming News on threads. It’s funny. I went into it probably like, Eh, this is gonna suck.

I’m gonna last four minutes, and then I watch something. No, it’s funny. Is it high art? No, it’s not trying to be high art. Sometimes things can just be fun, and this is just fun for an hour, and I felt like I was hanging out in a club and caught a comic on a good night.

You could see Rife is naturally funny. He’s quick. The special moves along. Your wife shows up forty seven minutes into it and you have to hit pause, and maybe you don’t enjoy the last fourteen minutes as much as she did the first forty seven. That could happen to you.

But Matt Rife Special liked it a lot. I’ll give you the updated listener a second. The Daily Beast wrote one of eight trillion Matt Rife articles that came out. They write, Rife seemingly wants a do over of his poorly received debut, returning to his roots as a CrowdWork comedian. The entire special centered around the concept of dreams, hence its title lucid.

Bizarrely, Rife never actually brings up the topic of lucid dreaming, and said he asked questions around ideas of aspiration, literal dreaming, and failed chances. While at times it does provide some cohesion and miss a style of comedy that lends itself to a more scattered approach, it also restricts him at times, making it seem more like a live poll ar Q and a session than a comedy show. Yeah. No, it definitely feels like a Q and a session after a proper set on that. One of the big falls of crowd Work, they write, is that it relies on stereotypes, with comedians forced to make snap judgments based on limited interactions.

This is a trap Rife falls into. At the starting. It compares one of the only black men in the audience to Cam Newton and makes another joke about another man’s queerness. I’ll comment there without spoiling there is a joke where he’s talking to a crowd member and she mentions her age, and Rife slams that one home. There’s also a joke that I think this article is referring to here about quote another man’s queerness, and I think Rife slammed that joke home.

Both those lines that I’m trying not to spoil got big laughs out of me, So I disagree here with the Daily Beasts. They write, He’s still reliant on a lot of the low blows that have helped him become viral on TikTok. He us the stereotypes in mockery, but this time he seems less afraid to mock himself too. It’s pretty good, all right. Let’s take a look at the updated list of best of twenty twenty four.

They write, crowd work has taken on a whole new life. Blah blah blah. To dress this higher matter, Comedian, actor, and podcaster Andrew Santino shared a message about CrowdWork at comedy shows ahead of his upcoming headlining tour. In a sketch turned promo, Andrew Santino pokes fun at crowd work and gives an important reason why you shouldn’t be worried about attending one of Andrew Santino’s shows this fall. In the clip, he poses as an alter ego version of a stand up doing crowd work in today’s comedy scene.

Before fumbling with his own jokes that intended to appear cheap, He starts doing CrowdWork by poking at one guy in a bandana, but then he mostly pokes a fun at himself when he says to the normal looking Santino, what’s up with this ginger ash bitch? Nice hair bitch? Hey, I bet you this redheaded guy puts on sunscreen at night and calls him an orange sickle. Then, after leaving the Hollywood improv in La, the normal looking Santino quickly sees himself getting crowd worked on TikTok almost instantaneously after leaving the show. Then we see that guy’s life start to fall apart as his girlfriend leaves him, saying the viral clip was embarrassing for her.

He gets let go from his job. At the end, we see him considering it was something horrible. We don’t want to joke about that. That’s not funny. At the end, the real Andrew Santino appears and says at the end, come see me on tour.

I promise I won’t do any crowd work so much to get to today, Let’s keep going. In the Facebook group Dylan, who’s one of the regulars, he commented on I guess it was Thursday’s show last week and commented on my comments, saying, this is Dylan speaking. Interesting take this morning on who is the queen of comedy, I’d argue it’s Taylor Thomas, and it’s not close. Network show sells out everywhere. She prefers smaller venues to basketball arenas, but is routinely selling out five thousand seed arenas.

Her last three specials have all been great. Nikki Glaser is riding the high the Brady Roast where she was amazing, but her special was mediocre by comparison, and it’s just now beginning to consistently headline theaters. She did forty minutes when I saw her open for Spade, but that’s a long way from selling out several nights in a row three thousand and five thousand seat venues, as Taylor’s done for most of this year.

You know, it’s the Internet. I know I’m supposed to go, no, Dylan, You’re stupid. That’s a horrible thing. But my real reaction is, you know what, Dylan’s right, You know that what I was doing that nicky thing. I had this nagging sensation that I was forgetting somebody, and apparently I forgot Taylor Tomlinson shifting gears.

This is not funny at all. Victoria Jackson remember her from Saturday Night Live. She has delivered a somber message to her followers. She was on SNL from eighty six to ninety two. She says she has about three years to live.

She had previously survived breast cancer. She put out a video which she titled is the Cancer Back, And she said they can’t operate and cut out the marble in my chest that’s laying on my windpipe and eventually would suffocate me to death. They’re giving me a magic pill meant to shrink the marble. Jackson is sixty five and explain that online research showed her that people taking the drug typically have thirty two point six months to live or quote something like that. Eugene and Dan Levy will host the Emmys on September fifteenth.

They were hoping to get Jimmy Kimmel. He doesn’t want to do the Oscars. Langston Kerman, as a special out tomorrow on Netflix, talked about the influence of John Mulaney on his career. They had spent some time on the road during mullani’s tour. Langston said it wasn’t much of a deep analysis of my jokes or punching up or fixing as much as it was just hanging out and him checking in to see the status of things.

When the time came to find a director for the special, Langston flowed some names and m’laney volunteered to do it himself. Langston said had Netflix asked for more than the original six episodes, he would have wept in front of his wife and child, but he believes they could have found a way.

I do want to get some fringe reviews in this week fringes over on the Weekend Chortle gave Pete Heat’s bogus three stars out of five, apparently in one of the hottest rooms at the Fringe, and they don’t mean like Hey, everybody wants to go there. They mean it’s hot because they write, which can’t be doing wonders for appreciation of his craft. For some reason, it’s a lot harder to be astounded when you’ve got sweat running down your back. Plus the guy’s name is Heat. That’s extra funny.

Heat’s bag is magic tricks, mostly card tricks, interspersed with comedy routines, both of which are performed to a fairly higher standard, although the show is slightly less than the sum of its parts. He’s a perfect foil for a casual audience, but I’m likely to knock out aficionado’s of either art form. The Guardian gave Stevie Martin, not Steve Martin. Stevie Martin four stars. Martin has some fun itemizing the advantages of making comedy online, which cannot be replicated, and she tries to prove the point on stage.

There’s effort award ratio, as one clip drolley demonstrates the host is doing so well online for doing so little, and the analytics available to model online success might those be mapped out of a live arena. You can bet Martin gives that a go too, animizing the show moment by moment with various on screen grids and graphs. She’s at the Monkey Barrel through the twenty fifth and a follow up. I told you last week about Reginald D Hunter and some folks walking out of his show with the fringe. Hunter posted on social media saying there was an unfortunate incident in my new show Fluffy Fluffy Beavers.

As a comedian, I do push boundaries and creating humor. It’s part of my job. This inevitably creates divided opinions, but I’m staunchly anti war and anti bully. I regret any stress cost of the audience at venue staff members related to that. The Eastwood Theater says they’ve canceled a September twenty eighth show by reginal D Hunter due to his controversial comments.

A spokesperson for the Eastwood Theater defended the freedom of expression of artists and it expected audiences to extend some latitude to many acts. However, in the case of reginal D Hunter, we have a commitment to our community and to our values of diversity and inclusion, which we take seriously. They said all customers would receive a refund. I’m related to all of this, Police Scotland said it had been made aware of a hate incident but found no crime and been committed. And that is your comedy news for today.

Turns out no, he really is a bullying jerk face. Worse, his act sucked.

It was unfocused, unfunny, and ended with him performing the same profane nursery Rhymes had been doing for thirty years. Lest you think of just being a petty bitch, which I definitely am. I’m doing so in service of a larger point. Right seeing Michael Ian Black, there’s another bullying, a jerk face out there, repeating the same stick he’s been doing for years, Like Clay. A lot of people think he’s a misogynistic jerk.

Like Clay, he wears the same stupid costume he’s had for decades. Like Clay, his actors grown stale, and his crowd size is depleted, and like Clay, he seems angry as hell about it. Who’s he talking about? Donald Trump? I’m not here for the politics of this.

This is Jenny Max speaking. I’m here for the comedy of it. And Michael leean black comedian, says, I was surprised to realize that Trump is essentially just another road comic trotting out all his tired bits from yesteryear. Jerry Seinfeld once said in the documentary Comedian that even if you’re famous, the audience won’t want to give you a few minutes grace before they turn on you if you’re not funny. Trump recently said, hello, Montana, I’ve been all over your state.

Everything’s two hours. When are we going to be there? Two hours? Sir, two hours, Michael ian Black writes, says an observation, it’s mundane as a joke, it’s non existent, but the audience love him and they eat it up, despite the fact that he’s no longer running against Joe Biden. They prefer Sleepy Joe or crook at Joe. It’s the equivalent of a comedian doing a Michael Jackson joke. I always thought the comparisons between Trump and stand up comedians were insulting to comedians. A comedian works at their craft, honing jokes, cutting fat, trying to create a coherent and satisfying hour, material that entertains the audience and at times might even make them think. Trumps none of the discipline, none of the thoughtfulness, none of the material.

We have a word for comics like that hacks. Andrew dice Clay is now a hack, so increasingly is Donald Trump. Samuel letters to Michael ian Black. Now there must be a theme. And speaking of hacks, the Daily Beast has the headline Hannah Einbinder is sick and tired of hack comedians.

Both these beasts from the Daily Beast. Hannah was on the Last Laugh podcast. She said, I think my stand up persona was kind of born out of aspiration. This persona is everything that I could ever want to be. People often say that doing stand up is brave, and I disagree.

I think it’s desperate. I needed to do it because they felt bad all the time, and I was like, maybe this will fix it. Now, Thank God, I feel much better being myself and in my life that stand up is just additive and not a survival mechanism. Now that her A Special has come and gone, Hannah says, I’m very, very proud of it. But you know, some of those jokes have been doing for years and years and every night on stage.

So while I love the material and I’m proud of it, I’m never going to say those words again. And I’m so fine with it. There’s no greater feeling for me as a stand up comedian than feeling excited about a new chunk, new section, new line. Than newness is what makes feel love for the art form. They then discussed Jerry Seinfeld’s comments about the extreme left running comedy.

It’s ridiculous. You just have to be smart when marginalized groups have heard every joke under the sun at their expense. It’s not that they can’t tell jokes, it’s that they’re sick and tired of hearing the hack. If you will, we’re done in crap. That’s easy and low hanging fruit.

I get to speak to my experience of being queer and being a woman and being Jewish. I actually I don’t have any problem with jokes at my expense, with the expense of any groups I may belong to, if the joke is smart, I really don’t. I think everybody, especially people from marginalized groups, have to laugh to keep from crying and have to laugh at themselves, and we do. We’re just asking for better material. And I think a lot of stand up comedians are really hardened in their perspective.

There’s an inherent personality trait of a being like, this is what I think, and everybody pays to listen to me say what I think. So I’m the arbiter of what’s what. So they don’t want to be told they’re wrong, and they don’t want to have to waver and change when their work is built around having a staunch perspective on something. When you call someone out on something and they get defensive. It just shows sort of a lack of evolution people who self reflect and go, I wonder if they’re right, maybe I’m wrong.

I can learn from that. That’s actually more impressive to me. Johnny Mac, you never talk about Matt Riife. I know, all right. Cracked said, you got to hand it to Matt Rife.

Only a few years ago he was self funding YouTube specials. Riife said, people kept checking you see if I had an only fans page, and I was getting tweets all the time being asked about it. That’s when the adult theme platform exploded, and I thought that if I named the special OnlyFans, it would be a number one Google. Krack says, for the record, a peerce Matt Riife does have an only fans page. His last post earned him more than ninety one dollars in tips.

A go fundme campaign raised thirty thousand dollars for the twenty twenty one special despite only forty people attending the taping. Only Fans now boasts thirteen million views on YouTube. Riife says, I have a very dark sense you that it’s not going to be for everybody, but millions of people love that special. Including the tens of thousands of people I ran that set by in preparation for that special. It helped me find an audience that’s going to be with me for a longer period of time.

The only thing I regret for my last special was not putting in any crowd work. I didn’t want to do any of that because crowd work was what because I’ve become known for, which is fantastic, but it can also pigeonhole you. His current special is all crowd work. What I love about crowd work is it doesn’t burn anything. It’s new for every single show.

It’s exciting for me, and I take great pride in that because so many comedians don’t switch up their set at all. Jim Gaffigan tweeted the question is there a twelve step program for gardening? Only half joking. Jim then shared this clip. It’s a little long and not all that funny, and he’s showing some vegetables on what appears to be his kitchen counter.

You know, by the way, none of my tomatoes look like tomatoes. They look like someone beat up a tomato. From the BBC. Telling hilarious or embarrassing stories from your personal life is something many stand up comedians do. What about turning your periods into a laughing matter.

That’s what Bella Humphries has done for her show at Fringe. After being diagnosed with pre menstrual dysphoric disorder PMDD. Symptoms of the condition can include extreme mood swings, depression, and anxiety. One of Bella’s jokes has already been named among the festival’s best. She says sharing her experiences of PMDD on stage has been very empowering because she’s been able to find the funny and some dark times.

I wouldn’t want that legacy for female drivers. Charter All reviewed a few shows at the Fringe. Let’s take a look Rose Matta Fayo’s on and On and On. They gave four stars out of five. The story of her involuntary singletom is so much more than a catalog of ex boyfriends and bad dates.

Instead, it’s a more personal look at her place in the universe, what drives her and why she hasn’t coupled up taking in some astute observations about the wider world rolled along the way. She has an arm’s length relationship with self analysis, adopting a silly voice when she mentions healing herself as she’s not really at ease with such concepts. We learn of her first encounters with posh people they are not native to her New Zealand homeland, the dumpster Fire thoughts she’s committed to her iPhone notes app, and how googling and incognito mode reveals your true self. She fears for the state of the self absorbed gen Z and bashist Taylor Swift fans for being basic. Lewis Katz’s show is called Bountiful.

Chortle gave it three stares out of five. Obviously an intelligent guy, lewis Katz’s fringe debut is a pushback against dumbing down, primarily in the reduction of every complex issue to a US versus them binary We’re the good guys, they’re the Nazis, with the boundary conveniently movable. Essentially, Bountyful is a plea for more nuance, at least just the basic acknowledgment that life is not so black and white. That’s true of his own stand up, which often makes smart connections to produce a rewarding punch lines, but is just as likely to feature a low brow penis joke. And there’s no surprise in which land better with audiences embracing gags with the least complexity, so underlining his central complaints, love it.

He has no time for the shortcuts of winning fans by posting crowd work clips, being offensive for getting angry over some fake trivial issue. That said, he does become arranged by the semi colon. He thinks it’s unworthy of its prime place on the keyboard. He expresses in a rant hilarious for its overreaction. I’m looking here.

Yeah, it’s right next to the L, isn’t it? And the full colon is the shift. Yeah, that does seem weird. Anytime I do anything, I just think, where am I working tonight? I’m working at the comedy store tonight, and I’m working at the end to at Dome August seventeenth. I just feel like, you know, gonna work.

But yeah, I wish I would have started having kids a little earlier, because you know, start looking your life and going, Okay, my kid’s five, I’m fifty. I’m almost double the difference between my father and I, And you start to think, am I going to be around for this kid when he gets married at thirty five?

I’ve had good fortune of working with in my career, with over three hundred people because of my show eleven years, two guest stars a week. I’m just so lucky. Las Vegas Magazine has spoke to Carlos Mencia. He’s been doing a show called Stars of Comedy at Harris Well. Had that appen Carlo Smincia, He says, you know, I expected at some point in my career to do this.

I’ve been touring consistently ever since I started doing stand up in eighty eight. To be in Vegas and have these people coming to me instead was very, very inviting. Another thing I felt was I need to do something different, something new, something more challenging. I thought it would give me a different jolt of energy, and it has. I’ve done four shows, and they’re all about sixty to eighty percent different.

When an opportunity presents itself like this one, I’m gonna enjoy to the fullest. I’m gonna give myself to it completely, one hundred percent. Not ninety nine point nine, but one hundred percent. Whenever I venture in any endeavors, wherever it may be, I give myself one percent of the moment that I have to that endeavor, so I know at the end of it, I did my best. I gave it to my all.

Not Ali, obviously, right, and we get to talk him and he says to me, like, listen, bro, like we’re friends now, right. I could ask you a question. You’re not going to get offended. I’m like, listen, brother, you’re from Dubai. I’m of South Asian origin.

Joe Rogan had on Adam Sandler, and Rogan said to Sandler, it’s so funny because your films get loved by the public and hated by critics and losers recording podcasts in their basement. It’s so hilarious. Like whatever the Rotten Tomatoes critics score is for your films, it means zero nothing.

It’s only the audience would count because your films are so fun It’s so silly and in my opinion, so underappreciated. Really, Joe Rogan, in my opinion, they are over appreciated. I was sitting on the beach and I checked the group and I was like, oh, and I listened to it on the beach. Thank you, Dylan. I found it a very nice listen. They started talking about van Halen, so yeah, had a guy from Long Island and Adam Sandler talking about Van Halen.

That is in my sweet spot. So I was enjoying that. Rogan super comfortable in his zone. This was like Rogan at his best because they were just deep diving into comedy and those are always the best conversations. On the Joe Rogan experience a weird move by Adam Sandler.

At one point he’s telling a story and I think he seriously said to Joe Rogan, dono Sarah Silverman, and Rogan was like, yeah, I’ve heard of Sarah Silverman. He was like, that’s not an obscure person to mention Adam. It was kind of weird. They talked about the slap. Rogan said, I think it was the best thing that ever happened to Chris Rock because then his stand up became wild again.

Closer Magazine said at one of Ellen’s recent shows, she got candid about the isolation she felt when she got kicked out of Hollywood for being mean. She joked about how she scared people constantly on set and realized later it could come off as terrorizing them. She brought up a specific story about an employee named Amber and her fear of snakes.

Ellen says, so sometimes before they came to my office, we’d hide rubber snakes in a panel and a ceiling, and I had a button I could push to leave that to drop out on top. Again hearing myself say this, and then she trailed off. So sometimes it’s a personal connection to the venue, and sometimes it’s a historic one. For me moving out here to LA in nineteen ninety eight, I did all these little rooms all over town, performing at the Comedy Store on Sundays. There used to be a place called Miagi’s near there had sushi in comedy on Tuesdays. I never really thought it would reach to where it has in the sense of performing at these arenas. He will be the first comedian to play the new into a dome and says, I mean, yeah, sometimes you go to city, it’s just another arena that happens to be in that city.

Then you go to the endo it dome and see what’s behind it and how much money was spant to make the experience really beautiful for the fans. To be part of the grand opening weekend, it’s special for me, uh huh, he told the La Daily News. I’ve never done a full arena tour in the past. It’s always been a mix of arenas in theaters. But this time around, we thought, why we just do an all arena tour since we’re gonna be out there anyway, and the production behind it is more than I ever did in the past.

We’re also in the middle of a two special deal with Netflix right now. Lucid is the first one, and I’m going to do another one next year, so I’m building that next hour of material and I’m touring right now.

I wanted to put out something that could work anytime, and that’s one of the great things about crowd work, and I don’t want to downplay it. This was kind of a side project. Plus I knew that a lot of my fans missed the fact that I didn’t do any crowd work in my last special, Natural Selection, which was on purpose, And it buys me even more time to figure out what I want to put in my next special. Ah, the reporter said. At another point during Lucy, to you address the fact that people take issue with CrowdWork as though it were somehow an easier, lesser form.

Was that premeditated? Matt Raich said, No, just came to me in the moment because we’d hit a point the show where it was just going so off the rails as I’m talking to a woman who really couldn’t even fully hold a conversation. And I think, in the back of my head, I’m thinking, people say this is the easiest type of comedy all the bleep in time, and this movement proves that I have to do so much more work than they imagine. I don’t know why you guys think I pre tape Saturday and forgot to do the segment. That is just not fair at all. Two Israeli audience members were booed out of Reginald D. Hunter’s comedy gig at the Edinburgh Fringe, says Yahoo, well why. Apparently they objected to a joke comparing the Jewish States to an abusive spouse.

American stand up Reginald Hunter was heard telling two audience members to leave his Fluffy Fluffy Beavers show after they hecking him over the joke, calling it not funny. The incident began when Hunter referenced a documentary titled My Wife, My Abuser, about an abusive partner who publicly claimed that her victim was guilty of abusing her. Hunter told the audience, according to witnesses, when I saw that, I thought, my god, it’s like being married to Israel. Two people in the audience, who said they were Israeli objective of the joke, saying it was not funny. There was an exchange in which Hunter asked the pair to leave the bear faced booze and calls from other audience members to leave.

The comedian continued once they left, recounting he was once made aware that someone from the Jewish Chronicle would be watching his show. I will read this next paragraph verbatim to report the news. I don’t want letters from you, the paragraph reads. After the show, Hunter said his partner sought out the review but could not access it online because of paywall, saying typical fing Jews, they won’t tell you anything unless you subscribe. That got some laughs.

The Assembly Festival, which runs the venue, stated we are aware of an audience member choosing to leave reginal Tea Hunter’s performance on Sunday.
