Caloroga Shark Media. I kind of showed today we’ve got STRIFEI I’m Johnny Mac with your Daily Comedy News. Golden Globes host Nikki Glaser fires agent Uta quote without warning, jumps to rival w me that from page six, Yeah, apparently Nicky fired her agents without warning and that members of her team didn’t know this was happening. Nikki Glaser had been with UTA since twenty eighteen. A source told page six crazy considering what Uta built for her the last five years.
You may recall Nicky was, you know, just another comic with a relatively successful podcast. Then she went on the roast of Tom Brady, got the Golden Globes gig, and now is establishment Nikki Glaser. While at Uta, Nikki Glaser became the first woman to ever host the Golden Globes solo. She will return to host the show in twenty twenty seven. A second insider noted, no nobody can figure it out.
A third source pointed out Uta turned her from a respected comedian into a mainstream cultural force. Tap the brakes on mainstream cultural force. She is a good comedian all, but mainstream cultural force. Relaxed with that, Nikki Glaser assigned with WMM in all areas including comedy, motion pictures, television, books, literary media, brand partnerships, podcasting, music and more interesting about the music there. Shane Gillis has teamed up with bud Light and Peyton Manning and there are new commercials.
I went to pull the audio, but they’re kind of visual jokes. Peyton Manning. The stars in arm Chair a predicament every NFL fan has found themselves in at least once you know the drill. You’re comfortable in your favorite reclining chair, but you need to get up to grab a beer. Problem is you don’t want to lose your seat.
When I used to hang out with the fellas and we would watch football for fourteen hours. We were younger. Then we had a rule. If you said you were coming back, you got to keep your seat. But if you’ve got to say the phrase I’m coming back, your friends could be like, oh, I thought you left for the day and steal your chair.
It was a lot of fun because people would forget you would lose your spot and yeah, you forgot to say you were coming back. Anyway, in this ad, Peyton Manning won’t give up his chair. He flexes his muscles and carries the reclining chair with him to get his beer. There’s another ad I saw where Shane kind of cuts Bayton off at the bar. Peyton is waiting for the bartender’s attention and Shane walks in front of him and asks for a bud Light.
Todd Allen is the senior vice president of Marketing for bud Light and said, with two hilarious new commercials featuring shaneon Peyton and are iconic team cans, giving fans a chance to upgrade their experience all season. We’re making good fun to fan out and celebrating the great lengths fans go to as they do anything for their team, and a bud Light on a game day. Peyton Manning said, and I’m setting this up because you’re gonna hear what Shane said. Bayton Manning said, this bud Light campaign truly cashures what it means to go great lengths for your team and showcases how fun it is to fan out during the NFL season. He got the statement there, I had similar language.
Partnering with bud Light is my favorite NFL kickoff tradition? Is it really you want Super Bowls? Dude? And bringing Shane into the action this year made this one even funnier. I can’t wait for kickoff.
Shane gillis is quote, I enjoyed shooting the s Budlight commercial with Peyton, and that’s why we love Shane Gillis. THEO. Vaughn went back to Vanderbilt to give a speech. He did the same thing during the twenty twenty five season. Vanderbilt tight ends coach Brandon Flaherty said when he spoke last year, it was a little bit more of him being a comedian.
This was a little bit more like a legitimate message to Vanderbilt football, and it wasn’t getting last and stuff. It was more like, I really appreciate everything he said. No players or staff have revealed exactly what theovon said, but the coach said he crushed the speech and that theovon understands what the program is about. THEO was at two of Vanderbilt’s fall camp practices through the first five days of camp, and it was a fixture around the scene in the twenty twenty five season. Last year, Vaughn said, I feel like I just showed up when they were winning.
Oh, it’s pretty fascinating me. I’m an underdog man. I’ve been an underdog my whole life. That’s the only thing I love from Radar Online, which tends to be gossipy. And I know that because I write the Palace Intrigue podcast about the royal family every day and Radar Online tends to have a lot of gossip and a lot of unnamed sources.
But this one made me chuckle. Apparently Adam Sandler and Ryan Reynolds are locked in Hollywood’s hottest rivalry, and Taylor Swift plays a major role. There’s some clickbait for you, Radar says. A source close to Sandler called rumors of a feud a lie and deny it that the two Hollywood stars even know each other. However, an insider said, Adam and Ryan aren friends.
They’re competitors and that’s not going to change anytime soon. It really comes down to their origins show business. Adam was not an overnight success. He grinded it out in obscurity as a young man first and stand Up then in the early nineties on Saturday Night Live. He’s always written his own material, and now he draws on the friends he made on his way up.
Like Jennifer Aniston and Chris Rock It’s the populatest films for Netflix and the Big Screen tells us. On the other hand, Reynolds got his start as a child actor in a Canadian TV series that aired in the US on Nickelodeon. Sor says, Ryan really never had to cut his teeth the way Adam did to get on American TV, and when it comes to US films, Ryan takes a more mercenary approach. He turned Deadpool movies into global hits precisely because he doesn’t rely on people that he’s known since he was in his twenties. If Ryan sees dollar signs, he’ll put someone in his movie, Raider tells us, amping up the rivalry even more.
Sandler has emerged as a major player in Taylor Swift’s social circle. A Sor says, Adam is all about loyalty and long term connections, and he’s well on his way to fortune. That kind of relationship with Travis and Taylor that has to drive Ryan Reynolds absolutely nuts. The Sandler family was at the red carpet premiere of Netflix’s Don’t Say Good Luck, which happens to star Sonny Sandler and happens to be produced by Adam Sandler and wife Jackie Sandler. What a weird coincidence, and this movie’s airing on Netflix.
Imagine that weird. Told the Sandler is all dressed the way he would on a red carpet. Adam wore a bright blue polo shirt covered in flamingos, electric blue track pants and sneakers. Sonny Sandler, who’s seventeen, got booked on The Tonight Show starring Jimmy Fallon. Now, Jimmy Fallon might know Adam Sandler from Saturday Night Live, that’s possible, but what a great guest for Jimmy Fallon to get Sonny Sandler.
On the Tonight Show, Sonny shared details about impersonating her dad alongside older sister Sadie, who’s also an actress in some movies. Sonny Sandler said, when me and my sister were younger, we dressed up in his clothes before that was popular and cool, the big shirts, the shorts, We held die cokes and yelled about the air conditioning being off, and then we jumped in the pool with our socks on because Adam wears his socks in the pool because he can’t bend to take them off on land Fallon was asked for confirmation that Adam Sandler wears socks in the pools and if Adam takes them off once in the water. Sonny confirmed that Adam Sandler does take his socks off once in the pool and says yes, and then he’ll drain them and you play catch with them. Now, at the time this recording, my pool is still somewhat great. We have not yet found the vandals who made the pool turn green, as pools sometimes do due to vandals.
It has nothing to do with how much chlorine I put in it last week during the rain vandalism. I’m telling you we’re going to cash these people. I digress. Remember Chelsea Handler commented about Joe Rogan making eighty two million dollars for the Joe Rogan Experience Joe Rogan on the August fifth episode of The Joe Rogan Experience. John, why do you keep saying Joe Rogan Experience.
Here’s why AIS read the transcripts for these things now. And I don’t know if you’ve tried to look anything up on Google. Everything goes to AI first, So I’m trying to rank anyway. Joe Rogan, host of The Joe Rogan Experience said on The Joe Rogan Experience about Chelsea Handler, that’s funny, she’s rich. That’s crazy, that’s what she said.
I make too much? Is there a certain number I should make? Late Night Er tells us Conan O’Brien has a new band. No, not like a new band on a TV show. Conan host Conan O’Brien is in a band.
The band is called the vagodas Conan O’Brien on vocals and guitar. It’s a five piece and apparently they did a set Monday night and played a mix of rock and rockabilly songs, including Elvis Costello’s Radio Radio. The Vagoda’s name is a tribute to Abe Vagoda, who if you’re old, you know who that is. If you’re young, I don’t know. I don’t know how you would know him.
You’ve probably never seen Barney Miller, and you probably haven’t even seen Godfather movies. Maybe you know Abe Vagoda from appearing on the Conan O’Brien television shows. One bit was a vagodal eclipse with a vagoda passing in front of the camera, like, you know, like an eclipse. You know how an eclipse works. Conan recalled that the show could come up with something ridiculous hours before taping, call a vagoda, and he would happily come over and do it.
Michelle wolf is inviting audiences into the creative process with Page two Stage three, that showed up on Punch Up Live earlier in the week, alongside her new eighteen minute special Irish Courage. The behind the scenes Docky series examines the comedian’s trial and error process of building, testing and refining new material. Page to Stage’s third installment follows Michelle wolf She spends two weeks traveling through the Irish countryside, writing with a trustee Purple Pin. Wolfe says, my favorite part of stand up is new jokes. Every joke is a little problem that needs solved.
Some of this happens on stage, and a lot happens off stage. That’s the part audiences almost never get to see. Page to Stage lets people in on the feil jokes, the rewrites, the random moments that somehow become bits. I wanted to challenge myself by seeing how many minutes I could write and turn it into actual bits in fourteen days. I loved making this.
I’m excited people can experience both the journey and where it ended up with Irish Courage. Fans can purchase page to Stage three on Punch Up Live for five bucks. An edited, censored version of Irish Courage will be released on YouTube. The uncensored version will remain available on Punch Up Live exclusively tomorrow on this program. This Saturday, Deep Dive will be about my friend Ralphie May, an actual friend of mine.
I’m not like we weren’t like best friends, but like hung out with the guy. Rarely heard from the guy. Guy, did me favors good, solid guy Ralphie May. Deep Dive and on Sunday a normal episode. I could assure you it as a normal episode because I just bounced a bunch of stories from the first half here, because we’re getting a little long, but it is Friday and it is time for the Comedy stock Market.
Comedy stock Market, Thank you, Bert Reynolds, Voice of the Comedy stock Markets. Every week we look at comedians as if they were stocks, and we try and sell high and buy low, maybe not always by low. And the third example here, all right, who are buying this week? Johnny Mac, Let’s buy some Starvos Ouvius. You know he’s getting commercials with the NFL.
He’s in the boord Ain movie. I know you guys know who he is. But I feel like the general populace is going to start to turn into this guy, and he’s got a special coming out. So we’ll buy some starvars Halkias. Let’s buy some Rory Scobell.
Why John Well, Had I not bumped all the Rory Skobel stories from the first half of this podcast today, I would have told you how awesome Rory Scovell is. But now you’re gonna have to tune in Sunday here all that stuff, and we’re gonna buy some Shane Gillis, which is kind of like buying Applestock. But I could tell you there was a time when I was at Sirius and Applestock was forty eight dollars and that’s like a million splits ago, and I was like, forty eight, it’s not gonna go up from there. I remember when it was twenty three A true story. When I first started working at Serious, I had gotten an iPod because I knew I was gonna be commuting to the city and I wanted to have a cool device.
Like that, and I thought it was amazing, and I wanted to buy Apple stock, but you can only buy one hundred shares, and I had been out of work for six months. I didn’t have twenty three hundred dollars to mess around with applestock, so I didn’t buy it, but I always kept an eye on that.
And then I remember when the video pods came out.
It was at forty eight, and it was like forty eight, it used to be twenty three. It’ll never go up, but it keeps going up and up and up, much like Shane Gillis. So we’re gonna buy Stavros Halkias, buy Rory Scovell. I’ll tell you why. On Sunday, We’re gonna buy Shane Gillis, even though he’s already high.
But the man is crushing it. No sells this week, Johnny Mac, you’re in a good mood. Yes. Congratulations to Bill Bellamy. He’ll be presented with the Icon Award at the twenty twenty six What’s Funny Comedy Festival.
I like Bellamy a lot. I saw him live million years ago in Aspin, I think, and he just was great. I’ve always enjoyed him the What’s Funny Comedy Festivals co founded by Knowledge Beckham and Lil Rel Howiy with the mission of spotlight black and brown comedians and make Chicago the next great home of comedy discovery? Was Chicago not guys? Guys, guys, I get what you’re trying to do here, but let’s not act like, oh, Chicago has a comedy scene.
Why didn’t anyone mention this? Basically, everyone who’s huge right now, Mulaney Nate came out of Chicago. What are you talking about again? Good job, but let’s not act like Chicago was some sort of comedy secret. You know.
I hear Austin has a comedy scene too, Yeah, in Los Angeles and New York and London. The festival’s third edition will be held September nineteenth through the twenty sixth venues throughout Chicago. More than fifty comedians from twenty cities will perform in showcases. Now all on If they’re from twenty cities, how does that make Chicago the home of comedy discovery? It means like I have to go to Chicago to be discovered.
Is that what you’re saying here? I’m so confused, but I’m happy for Bill Bellamy, who will receive the Icon Award during the inaugural What’s Funny Today Show Chicago Comedy Legend ceremonies, say that twice I got it on the first try. I kind of stumbled, but I didn’t do a retake there. That’s on September twenty first. Bellamy will be honored alongside fifteen Chicago comedians whose careers helped shape the cities comedy legacy.
I’ll have to find a list of these people. On Deadline. Matt Ruby had some comedy wisdom. It includes and I like these the wisest paths who stand up success. Now start a beef with someone in the rogan sphere and hope one of those YouTube gossip mongers clips it up.
That’s not bad advice. More, we underestimate how much they killed Tony phenomenon. It’s just about geography. People in Baton, Rouge, El Paso and Tulsa want exposure too, and they certainly ain’t getting in from any local platforms. Slash NYC, slash LA, slash industry sue.
Yeah, he’s right. Matt Ruby writs. One thing stand up comedy teaches you is how terrible drunk people are at whispering and say farewell to the notion of big closers. Online, twice as many people will see your first joke as opposed to your last joke. We’re now in the age of big openers followed by diminishing returns.
Maybe that’s why comedy specials I get bored after fifteen minutes most time. You know, you probably nailed that there, Matt Ruby. And it’s very hot in the basement today, so that’s going to be a wrap. You got a full show. I mean, check your watch.
It’s not like I had it in a seven minute episode. This was pretty robust. Tomorrow a deep dive on Ralphie May Sunday, normal episode with a bunch of stuff I bumped it from today. Catch you then,
