The Shark Deck, Hello Jennymack with your Daily Comedy News Variety talked to Jim Gaffigan. He was explaining the whole clean comedian thing and said it wasn’t some grand scheme. I’m not reinforcing values. I come from a small town in the Midwest, where you only curse if you’re in a car accident. You’re just stubbed your toe.
You’re not cursing when you’re talking about donuts. He reflected on working in advertising and watching people with better vocabularies than him cursing NonStop and said I wasn’t offended, but I didn’t understand why it wasn’t organic to me. And when he started doing late night shows, he had remove cursing anyway, So, as I wrote, it became easier to think up an option rather than worry about changing it. Later. The La Times talked to Neil Brennan, who says, I love doing podcasts, but booking them with such utter humiliation.
The plan was to release the block special and then people would be banging down the door to get on my podcast. But no one’s ever going to bang down the door for a podcast ever. David Spade once called podcast jury duty, and I guess that’s the right way to think of it. Having said that, Letterman was the first guest, so that helped legitimize it. The British Comedy Guide it sells us.
Jack Whitehall has recorded his Settled Down Tour for a Netflix special. He filmed it over three nights at the O two Arena in London July fourteenth through the sixteenth, featuring Whitehall’s reflections on imminently becoming a father being a famous alumnus of his private school as its reputation was direct through the Meyern hanging out in la The show is the first stand up special to be produced by Whitehall’s Jackpot Productions, and it’s his third for Netflix. Netflix has not picked up a show called Jack’s Pub. The show would have followed Whitehall’s investment in a Brewer Friends drinking establishment notting Hill in London. However, the quiet Night in open before cameras could start rolling.
It’s not known whether Whitehall will still put money into the venue. From the Desert News, Ryan Hamilton’s definitely not from Canada. Everyone knows he grew up in Ashton, Idaho, a town with one stoplight and sixty three students. In Hamilton’s graduating class. Ryan said, when you’re from a small town, there are advantages.
You could do whatever you want because nobody else is going to so this room for you. He started writing two humor columns a week, one for each newspaper ten dollars apiece. Soon, the NBC affiliate and Idaho Falls heard about the columns and asked him if he wanted to help cover sports. So when he was fifteen, having had an Idaho driver’s license for a full year, what is the ancient Idaho really fourteen? Yeah, he drove around the state filming games, editing the reels, writing copy and slipping in some jokes for the sportscaster right on the air.
And the spring of two thousand, on the day he took his final he called Johnny b his comedy club in Provo and asked if he could get on stage. They told him sure, come Friday. He didn’t tell any friends or family. I just wanted it to be my own thing. He made up an excuse to go to la He showed up to one meeting in a suit and sign was horrified to find everybody else dressed casually.
He said, I was very, very green. I didn’t know how to handle the business at all. He went for a TV pilot, didn’t happen. He decided to give comedy one more year. Than one year turn into several years.
Hamilton said it put a lot of pressure on me starting to get corporate gigs which paid better than one night. ER’s his broad, observational comedy’s a good fit for corporate work. He says, I’m very approachable and I’m not going to offend anybody. He then entered and won Sierra misss America’s Next Green Comic in two thousand and five. He made it to the Semis of Last Comic Standing in two thousand and seven.
Then he did live at Gotham. He met Amy Schumer, who said to him, I’m Amy, and you’re going to move here. So he hit New York City and said I couldn’t get on stage. Even though he had TV appearances and multiple competition titles, he hadn’t proved himself as a New York comedian. So he spent five years traveling from New York to other cities to perform Wow, What a Road.
Twenty twenty was going to be the big year. He had lunch with Jerry Seinfeld in March eighteenth. By the end of that week, the world had shut down and all of Hamilton’s bookings were postponed. On January first, twenty twenty two, he walked to lax at one thirty in the morning to get a rental car. He said, I hit a button, I watched the light turn, I started walking.
I didn’t see here anything. I just felt the impact. A bus had struck Ryan Hamilton, breaking ten out of his ribs, puncturing a lung and pushing an armbone through his skin. He says it was pretty gruesome. I was so scared.
I didn’t think my body would work again. These days, he opens for Jerry Seinfeld at the Beacon Theater. He’s booked through the spring of twenty four and he said, I wanted my accident to be a tragedy, you know, but it’s pretty funny. Really, it’s a comedy. Hi.

Yeah? Who says? Malonge has such a likable demeanor that sometimes disguises the fierceness of his material. You will find that show at the Pleasants Courtyard Bunker two.
